- Unable to travel overseas due to the ongoing pandemic, Katsutaka "Jumbo" Yokoyama and Keita Kurakami head for Yakushima, an island in the south of Japan not well-known for its climbing. There, they find an abundance of bullet rock to develop and a group of locals that would teach them the importance of being good visitors.
love the color grading of this movie
Awesome movie! Great conversation starter with people, as there are so many delicate issues surrounding this area.
I can't help but wonder, though, how the discussion would go if the locals were not climbers at all. How can outsiders come into that environment and develop a potentially world-class area when the locals (all of whom are non-climbers) are opposed? Does all discussion come to a halt, or can agreement be made?
Thanks for the thought provoking video
Awesome
Wonderful to see. Such and humble and enlightened approach. Letting ego take a backseat to cooperation, respect and mutual benefit. Bravo!
Very inspiring video. We are living the same kind of situation in my hometown Baie-Comeau, a rock paradise! Thanks Patagonia.

i like trad climbing, but all those gears will drain all my monthly wages so i'll stick with bolt
