So you guys have better internet access for rural people to use it. And the charges are too high. Govt need to push this. Otherwise, it wont work. What India did was. They got a great internet. Thank to jio and airtel cheap internet. Then NPCI pushed the digital evolution in pqyment with multiple sources. And let the private players to enter under regulators. With time, google pay and amazon pay started to come. And then whatsapp pay. Now there are ao many digital payment system. Youth adopted fast. But I think the biggest succes of UPI was that even a beggar or small guy with little education can use it. Ofcourse everyone must have a bank account.

World is going cashless and cardless too.. there is no need to have a physical card on your pocket whenever you go out... Pakistan should focus on that only.. In india most people don't even withdraw money from ATM regularly now.. even i use my debit card to withdraw money just once a month...We used to see a lot of people selling cards in malls and inside the banks 10 years ago... But at present they are all gone.
True that physical cards are slowly slowly dying its silent death. With the advent of technologies like upi apple pay alipay and all , cards are not being used more often. They are mostly being used during international travels or to pay on international websites. As slowly slowly the tech stack of one country being accepted in other countries then simply we can pay by just scanning through our phones.
Hi Shahzad. For better perspective, you should invite people from Visa & Mastercard too. Alot of information provided is not accurate and it would give a different angle. Also, my nephew got a PayPak card but immediately went and got another card since he couldnt use it on any website/app. Creating a local scheme and promoting it is a nationalistic thing but one should also understand that innovation, security, acceptance and usage are important factors for payments to grow.

It's called Merchant Discount Rate(MDR). In India, this fee has been waived by RBI.
