@@DaggetDesigns how can I send it to you. I want you to rip into me. I used prismas for the body (inks weren't here yet) and liquitex for the background. I think I misaligned the scales a bit and god damn first time using ink was hard. I give it a 6.5/10.
@@PeachiiWubs brother inks are tough! Keep at it though And yeah send it through either dm my insta @daggetdesigns or email at dagget.designs@gmail.com more than happy to take a look for ya
Thank you for taking the time to share your process - it is much appreciated. The 4 part tutorials are really helpful. It would be superb if you could do a small video on how to construct the fish in the same Japanese Koi style - but at different angles or perspectives please. Excellent.
THANKYOU for putting time into these videos. I hope your channel blows up it deserves way more views - super chill vibes and quality content and beautiful work. Keep it up my dude
listening to one of the artists considered a japanese traditional irezumi master, they stated that the reason for leaving the white area around the scales, flower petals, etc, is so that light penetrates the skin and pops back out through the ink boosting the contrast and not mudding up everything by having dark colors dampened at the edges by the black linework
Yes, they’re called skin breaks or skin gaps. Used a lot in most forms of traditional tattooing like American traditional. Another reason is to allow bleed room for the ink to spread over time and it also makes images more contrasted and easier to read! Nice pickup and thanks for watching 👍🏼😊
Inspirational, looks awesome. I'll be having a crack as soon as I can get to the art shop for some equipment after lock down! In the meantime, I'll just binge watch all your vids! Cheers mate
Thank you 🙏🏻 YES! They certainly could, in fact i’ve seen cleaner looking results using copic’s and have used them in the past. The reason I opt for the ink and brush method is just to maintain tradition, and i love the way it looks.
Heh man! You can certainly use markers or coloured pencils or whatever you’d like, obviously adjusting your technique to suit. I’m using liquitex acrylic inks. In my opinion these are the best for the job, however everyone has their own preference
Thank you for the koi tutorial. Your art is beautiful. I am fascinated by your ink work. I have only used watercolors, so I am tempted to try out the ink. Also, could you tell me what paper you are using in this tutorial? Happy New Year.
Happy new year! Thanks so much for watching, much appreciated. I encourage you to try liquitex acrylic inks. They’re great to use once you get the hang of it and have some benefit over watercolour imo. I’m using Fabriano cold pressed watercolour paper in 300 GSM 😊 👍🏼
I'm grinding all your tutorials like 5x over. Your channel is 🔥
You’re a legend man! 😁🔥🔥🔥

Awesome! Thanks so much for the support Dan! Let me know how it goes 😊
Amazing work dude! I’ve never used the acrylic ink, how would it be using that on canvas
I haven’t done it. But i probably wouldn’t use it on canvas for this type of work.
Amazing work. Could someone achieve the same effect if they were to use alcohol markers such as copic markers.

Thank you Rika 😊 appreciated
Hey Dagget, can you use markers instead? What kind of paint do you use? Thanks 👍🏽
