Hi! Bit late to the party I think.. Love this serie, you really do a great job, it's super casual while being overly complicated I love it. Hope to watch it up till I come to your weekly streams! (one month, should be fast, right?) Good night from France!
back of the napkin math says that you need to around 25.000 chunks with solar+accu+medium power poles assuming no wasted space. That's about the same as the area covered by 503 radars 2M * (1 solar * 9 tiles + 0,84 accu * 4 tiles + 1 medium power pole / 4 solar )
Wow, I expected the 25k number to be close, but after quickly running the numbers in excel, somehow 25000 chunks is the EXACT number of chunks I'll need for 2M panels (even though I use substations, and roboports+radars are integrated as well). I have a 6x6 chunk blueprint which contains 2880 solar panels, which I'll stamp 24x30 times for 87.091200 GW. This is slightly more than 2M panels (2073600) covering 25920 chunks, which works out to a ration of exacly 25000 chunks for exactly 2M panels. Crazy! /nerdout
Did you know that once you’ve setup a spider to follow another spider (or other device) you don’t need to keep a remote set for that spider. I use one remote to setup all my spiders that follow my main one. Only one remote required. :)
@@MichaelHendriksLIVE my controlling spider is a different colour to the rest. I also use the spider bots to do most of the building so the recharge is spread across my 5 spiders. They have (mainly) the same load-out so they can all join in. 😁
Mike what are your thoughts on the new evolving difficulty in the Biters for the DLC. I really hope past the nerfed lasers etc. We get more weapons so the combat loop is also better. Nobody likes grinding to beat the same old enemies with no new weapons.
I posted a reply on the forums, page 3 I think. 3500 hp nests are not difficult just tedious with the current loadout, but perhaps we'll get better weaponry along with it
@@MichaelHendriksLIVE I wish I have the same enthusiasm for this DLC as most but I am deeply skeptical. For one Trains and raised trains. Will it help train deadlocks. The trains take the shortest route even if they get congested in one spot and they done 'realise' the option re-route if route becomes slower. A train taking a 'longer' way around is better then a train sitting in a deadlock. I am beginning to think the only way to a mega base is just belts. Mike can i ever play co-op with you please.
ruclips.net/video/Sg5_4IpAIZU/видео.html . Not sure if it translates to the game, but in the mythical real world trains have breaks on every wheel, but only locomotive wheels are powered. So breaking distance is only influenced by a average wagon weight.
Starting talking at 5:40 ; goes over plans for the stream
Loads main save at: 22:20

Your spiderarmy: The pitcher goes to the well once too often."
yes Mike, we know about the fish line by now 🤣
Are you at the Factorio SA Lan event this weekend Michael?
No
7:53:23 - yes, i believe so. If you take the time cycles of the two and multiply them, you will get the time they collide.
i am running my entire base with solar farms, with a capacity of 83 MW and Accumulators with 6.3 GJ

Just don't accidentally jump in the wrong spider lol
