Took me a while to understand it He caught the ball (1 out) Steps on the plate for a forceout (2 out) Tags the runner from 1st (3 out) All within 3 seconds.
Sure you can - if there was a guy on 2nd who ran to 3rd, the runner needs to tag up, since the ball was caught. The runner you see from 1st in theory could turn around - but the throw would beat him to 1st, so he's out either way. (Though technically it's not a 'force' - it's a 'doubling up'.)
Im an A's fan and sometimes thats how it feels. Side note: if you watch a 90s baseball movie (Major League, Little Big League, Angels in the Outfield etc.) It always seems like the hame that turns around the protagonists yrash season is against the A's.
5:43--Unassisted triple play. Only the 15th in modern (post-1901) major league history, the third in the 9th inning, and the fifth by a second baseman.
you guys need to realize this video is titled: MLB Nice Plays to end the game, not EVERY SINGLE AMAZING MLB PLAY TO END ALL GAMES!!!!!! Andrew did a good job. You dont need to tell him what he didnt add...
Surprised at 2:40 the Reds didn't call for the "Posey" rule for a freebie run since the catcher technically blocked the plate before getting the ball. They've done it before. Now, I know the rule states the catcher is allowed to move into the runner's path to get the ball if that's where the throw takes him; but that hasn't stopped the Reds from trying to abuse that rule to get free runs before.
3:13 the runner tries to slap the ball out of the air, what was he thinking?! I mean, they wouldn't just say "play over" go back to Third Base" he would have been out anyway but that was funny LOL
Can you find ones where a tag is made to end the inning/game, before a run can score, not obvious ones where they're still 45 feet from the plate, but where they're within a couple of feet.
Milo Baseball there's a reason I said similar thing. Besides, people seem to remember Inciarte doing it with the Braves, yet there was no sort of showing of Leonys Martin's catch, for some reason.
Yeah looks like the tag made contact with him closer to his crotch when his leg was already in there. It's hard to tell with youtube frame by frame because there aren't enough frames....but with a higher frame rate, he would have probably been safe.
What about Kris Bryant's play to end the 2016 World Series? It wasn't exactly extraordinary for the amount of effort or skill required to make it, but it wasn't exactly easy, either. Bryant had to charge the grounder and slipped on the wet grass, landing on his ass, while making the throw to first. Even so, it was a nice play, and it ended 108 years of futility.
1:03 "Out at the plate!!"... That's second base! 😂😂
Cassius Catallo lol
He got confused cause the right fielder threw a strike haha
Cassius Catallo Thats rangers commentators for you
I guess he meant to say "out on the play" because after that you hear him say "he got him at second base"
Yea it's.. Second plate. Lol!
On the first on I was like what the hell cris Davis hit the ball
Chris Davis used to be the best hitter
Unassisted triple play to end the game..... priceless
Took me a while to understand it
He caught the ball (1 out)
Steps on the plate for a forceout (2 out)
Tags the runner from 1st (3 out)
All within 3 seconds.
Ronald Tennessee you cant catch a ball for an out and step on the plate to get a force... that was second base..
Ok I’m confused. Can anyone explain the that triple play??
Sure you can - if there was a guy on 2nd who ran to 3rd, the runner needs to tag up, since the ball was caught. The runner you see from 1st in theory could turn around - but the throw would beat him to 1st, so he's out either way. (Though technically it's not a 'force' - it's a 'doubling up'.)
Daniel Staal thanks man
Souza's diving catch to save Jordan Zimmerman's no hitter
Tanner_10 thats what I'm saying
Tanner_10 exactly what I was thinking
I was waiting for it the whole compilation
Tanner_10 omg I was literally thinking the same exact thing
Lesson learned: If you're in a close game and a jam in the ninth, be sure to have Mike Trout and Carlos Gomez in your outfield haha
This video makes Oakland look 0-162
Im an A's fan and sometimes thats how it feels. Side note: if you watch a 90s baseball movie (Major League, Little Big League, Angels in the Outfield etc.) It always seems like the hame that turns around the protagonists yrash season is against the A's.
A's fan here, trust me. It's exactly what it looks like, haha. In all seriousness the A's get very unlucky a lot.
2:28 was probably a top three moment of the Phillies 2017 season. Still gives me chills
i like how you tried to get one from every team, nice job
5:43--Unassisted triple play. Only the 15th in modern (post-1901) major league history, the third in the 9th inning, and the fifth by a second baseman.
eauhomme It was also the first game-ending unassisted triple play since 1927.
Such a Mets moment
Steven Souza saving Jordan Zimmermann's no-hitter?
Torii Hunter-Prince Fielder-Brayan Pena relay in Seattle?
Tigers Fan All Day he can’t get everything
As a Mets fan, I had completely forgotten Eric Bruntlett's triple play. The emotional pain is coming back.
you guys need to realize this video is titled: MLB Nice Plays to end the game, not EVERY SINGLE AMAZING MLB PLAY TO END ALL GAMES!!!!!! Andrew did a good job. You dont need to tell him what he didnt add...
Leonys Martin made a game-saving play against the Royals
5:43 It was also the first game-ending unassisted triple play since 1927. And Bruntlett was a back up utlity infielder lol
Damn, this video makes the Rangers look unbeatable.
John Doe as a die hard rangers fan I would have to agree
Dylan Plattner And now the Astros are World CHAMPS 😂😂😂😂the Washington senator rejects unbeatable that's funny
John Doe once upon a Time maybe
This Wallpaper Sux that sentence doesn’t even make any since
Yeah look at them now ugh I’m a rangers fan but I have to say they are horrible
Odubel Herrera's catch to win Cole Hamels' no-hitter?
DatBoi Yoseffington that was a routine fly ball that appeared exciting because Herrera stumbled.
logalogalog it was in Chicago with 30+ mph winds nothing routine about that
DatBoi Yoseffington ..
He over ran the fly ball.
The Souza Jr diving catch to finish Zimmermann's no-hitter should also be in here
No Ender Inciarte game winning, walk off robing catch vs the Mets? Cuz that was one of the best plays I've seen by an Atlanta Brave.
Ended is a boss
That game still gives me depression
I know right, I was waiting for that the whole video
I’m grateful that wasn’t included. It hurt, and I see it on too many of these things.
I'll never forget the Mets lining into an unassisted triple play to lose.
5:44 for once Dominic Brown has actually made a good play
One of the nicest game-ending double plays I ever saw was John Mcdonald's 6-3 double play against the Cubs in 2005.
Captain Cardsworth it was pre-posey
Does anyone else hate the sound of the blue jays hits and catches
ComedyKids I do
I hate the Blue Jays
i like hit
I liked seeing one blue jay hit... Thank the baseball gods for Odor.
I’ve always wondered why it does that is it because of an audio thing or does it sound like that in real life?
I was at the game when Goodell got that outfield assist to win the game
I think mookie betts game winning catch at the end of the Baltimore was the best play
3:13 the runner tries to slap the ball out of the air, what was he thinking?! I mean, they wouldn't just say "play over" go back to Third Base" he would have been out anyway but that was funny LOL
1:18-1:20
This is why I love the Indians commentators.
1:05 out at the plate?
Ba Loons does it matter fat boy?
Ba Loons If you look closely, you’ll see that the runner got tagged by an inch before touching base. It was a close one, but he was out for sure.
lmao
Psychonaut you're missing his point, he said "out at the plate" even though it was at second base, his point was not that he was safe
1Dollaro inContanti The question mark kinda threw me off lol
1:03 "OUT AT THE PLATE! GOT HIM AT SECOND BASE!"
What was Joey Votto arguing about on Gomez's catch?
The Oakland A’s are like the Phil Helmuth of baseball.
1:32 fuck it, close enough. let's go home boys. -umpire
5:39
When you slide on the last play of the game so that you could be in the highlights, because you’ve never been in the highlights
Last play of game 4 of the 2015 World Series deserves to be here
Steven Souza Jr's catch to save Jordan Zimmermann's no-hitter really should be on here. I'm not the only one who thinks so either.
Did I miss Steven Souza’s catch to save Jordan Zimmermann’s no hitter or am is it not here!?!
I like the police officer in the first one he looked so happy
Those catches with score close great. Blowout win only good
5:19 Why was the batter complaining?
n40798 because he got robbed of a game winner, duh.
n40798 he wanted to make sure Gomez had the ball in his hand
@@icommentsometimes LMAO!!
2:21 I never noticed that Manny caught that relay barehanded
Jordan Zimmerman no hitter with the diving catch in left field????!!!!! At nats park
What about Drew Stubbs' catch between the Tigers and the Rangers?
Can you find ones where a tag is made to end the inning/game, before a run can score, not obvious ones where they're still 45 feet from the plate, but where they're within a couple of feet.
Robin Yount's dive to save the first no hitter in Brewer's history.
At 2:37 he would have been safe if the catcher didn’t get in the way he should have called that💯😂
the cop in the first catch 😂
Manny kept Britton's streak alive
What was Votto complaining about after Gomez robbed him? lmao. big mad
5:26 what was votto trying to argue? Lol i can imagine him saying "That's not fair!!"
At 3:14 are we all going to look past the fact that the runner tried to bat the ball out of the air with his hand 😂
That's why he was called out. It didn't have anything to do with his being tagged. You can see the umpire start making the call before the actual tag.
I just got to see a bunch of guys say “and this ballgame is over”
0:23 he’s on his feet faster than you can say catch. Not to mention he looks like he’s in his 40s and still able to do that
Oakland really likes getting the final out huh ? 😂
WHERES MARTE TWO GAME SAVING PLAYS VS THE REDS?!?!!!?!
It’s too bad the Mookie Betts is no longer a red Sox’s player he was fun to watch
Leonys Martin had a catch to rob the Royals of the game tying home run, and Ender Inciarte did a similar thing to the Mets.
Proto Man the mets one would have been a walkoff not a game tying dinger
Milo Baseball there's a reason I said similar thing. Besides, people seem to remember Inciarte doing it with the Braves, yet there was no sort of showing of Leonys Martin's catch, for some reason.
Gardeners catch vs jays with bases loaded last year
According to this vid, the angels should be unstoppable
4:30 I think he was safe
mattloveOHIOST5 he's out I paused the video once he got tagged and his foot was in front the bag
I think he's safe
Yeah looks like the tag made contact with him closer to his crotch when his leg was already in there. It's hard to tell with youtube frame by frame because there aren't enough frames....but with a higher frame rate, he would have probably been safe.
yep got it on the frame where he touched the bag, he was safe
Out. No debate. Just spam the pause button and you can clearly see it.
2:30 I was waiting for that game to show up
Austin Jackson's catch and throw to home to win an 8-7 game (Indians vs. Tigers)
Kyle Seager's diving stop of a Simmons ground ball last year
5:05 watched it in slow motion about 20 times. He was actually safe as it was a tie. According to the rules a tie always goes to the runner.
Some good plays but I have seen dozens of them.
4:55 when Denard Span was actually good he made terrific catches like that but he's getting old he was white hairs in his beard
Brett Gardner's catch against the Blue Jays last year
Love the play at 2:40
How do you not include Steven Souzas unbelievable catch to save jordan Zimmermans no hitter and it ended the game
MLB Lost on thought that is my suggestion for a video.
3:00 is the reason why the A's fired Mike Gallego
4:31 he was definitely safe. Too bad they didn't have replay back then
I hate how the Rays are only on here once and they were the team that lost... 😐
Uehara picks off Kolten Wong to win a World Series game?
5:27 what was Joey Votto screaming?
Arcia on the Brewers play to end the game against the Pirates
3:21 I wanna know what was going on in the background
They do know even if rupp hadn't hung on it would have been an out... you can't plow through catchers anymore...
Addison Reed likes getting saved
Inciarte robbing the Mets of a walk off homer?
No game 7 of the 2016 World Series?
2:09 take your gum and throw it to leave my mark and 2:39 way to block the base
5:18 call me biased but that's the best one
Brewer Highlights you're biased
Brewer Highlights I like how votto acts like he didn't catch it like how would you get away with faking a catch
Why was Odor in right field? Jesus..
What was Joey votto complaining about at 5:28??
AG21 Bloons TD Battles, asking the umps to look at the glove
to totally forgot the one about ender incearte robbing a walkoff homer
Jeff franceour... boi I miss Jon bois
2:49 what is that little dwarf doing? does he not want to win the game? or is he just some selfish pig who wants to catch the final out?
Lol poor Oakland was in nearly all of these.
3:21 😂
The Rox weren't in this once lol
stupidest MLB plays to end a game (In 2013, Josh Hamilton jogged off the field as a runner when there were only 2 outs)
What about 2015 NLCS Game 1?
Minute 4:40 it was a 100mph fastball 💨 lmao
lol the cop is still there at fenway
Steven Souza? Ender Inciarte?
I liked
Oakland seems to lose a LOT of these
The souza jr play was better than half of these
i luv the giants
were the fuck was seagers play last year agianst the angels
Adroite Gaming it was a great game but it was a pretty routine play
BBB
My bad wrong person
Where*
My favorite player is Corey Seager
