Great to see this match between two queens of the WTA tour! They were both from the Bollettieri camp so I'm sure they had practised with each other a few times before and knew each others games well. Mary could normally overpower Anna, but Anna was also able to expose Mary's slow movement with her deft skills in the front court. Mary was okay here but got destroyed by Hingis in a later round. By the end of 99 Mary had massively improved her footwork, movement and serve (very nearly beating Davenport at US Open) and by 2000 was a much sharper player than the one you see here. Just shows how much you can improve mid-career!
OMDays, thanks for providing more evidence of your *Hatred for Mary!* Such nonsense about "both being from the same camp & knowing each other's game"! Mary had LEFT Bollettieri by this point! In fact (at this time) Mary had a very close friendship with Martina Hingis (regularly playing doubles). Then you further expose yourself by saying Mary "got destroyed by Hingis in a later round" - WITHOUT mentioning Mary's MAJOR INJURY at that time! SMH!
@@Peter_NatureLover_TrollHater Yes, ALL players are nervous at the start of ANY match. My point was clear, i.e., that you could see her nervousness from her FOOTWORK. Why did that require explanation, and why did you like your own comment?
@@uncletony6210 Awww naw! You didn't feel the need to mention Mary's (nervous) FOOTWORK! PMSL! Oh dear - just another "Kournikova fan boy" - wanking in his parents' basement! ROFL! SMH!
I totally appreciate you *posting a Full Match,* thank you.

cupidslover3 - Your silence speaks VOLUMES!
Das ist mal ein Match, das man sich auch unabhängig vom Spielverlauf anschauen kann ... ;-)
the cosplay at Australian open is the best. My mother went to all 4 grand slams tournaments and Australian Open is her favorite.
2 very hot women
There is what most would classify as fine, but Anna Kurnikowa in a skimpy tennis outfit takes it to another level.
My favorit match❤❤❤ on wta tour
Anna❤❤❤❤❤
Anna hätte viel mehr aus ihrer Karriere machen können!
you can tell by Anna's footwork in the warmup that she was very nervous.
ALL players are nervous at the start of ANY match. What's your point?
