I always felt no soul from Jay-Z he came to a record shop in a plaza in my city when he first came out in the late 90s. Me and my friends skipped school to see him he was cold some hood dudes tried to take his chain because he was rude and distant. I almost felt like he didn't live what he was saying in his music and if he did he used that pain to cause more pain to become numb to anything. He didn't care that people tried him he jumped into his black limo with a white becky model type looking woman and was like on to the next stop. He was literally out there for less then 15 mins. After that, I could tell he was all about the money. Hard knock life dropped shortly after that and I bumped it for the kids who voices was the chorus in that song. I knew he was reaching for the support from black communities because without that who would he be. What I realized then was he was then and forever only making moves for business purposes. Even marrying Beyonce and all the awards and shows it was all about business nothing more. Sad thing is that I quit dancing singing and writing poetry because I realized how fame can change you and the people around you if your not ready and supported with your talents. Its a gift and a curse. I started concentrating more on school and knew in order to really enjoy my life it would be the behind the scenes accomplishments that would aid in me getting the most out of life. Helping my family studying hard and making my mama proud would be the motivation in my life. That would build me a great amount of happiness and love in my life. Jay-Z is rich and powerful but when has anyone ever really seen him happy and enjoying life. I believe that we all have opportunities in life where we can decide to be good or evil.
