- The wizards at Industrial Light and Magic show us how they go from concept art to the finished frame. After months of designing, filming, animating and compositing, here is how they brought the Mermaids in Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to life.
The mermaid scene was the BEST part from the movie.
Ikr I personally thought it was a shame that when they turned into monsters we weren't able to see their faces as I would like see what they would look like but overall the mermaids were awesome

She problem walked on land before and Jack hooked up with her. Then she was heartbroken so she went back to the ocean.

I'm glad they opted to make them look human-like, and beautiful by human standards. If they'd been monstrous, they couldn't have beguiled the men, and we wouldn't have that amazing lead-up where you _know_ something bad's going to happen but in the meantime you're completely captivated.
1:25 i wish Gemma Ward return again for playing her Tamara mermaid character in another future movie of the Pirates of the Caribbean, she was so unresistable and a very lovely beauty she has.
Yes i wish they'd cast her as Syrena (the main mermaid) but then we wouldn't have been able to listen to her hypnotic siren voice. I hope they bring her back she was just so magnetising. She made the whole film for me.

@@coreynmarie if the point is "mermaid doesn't' exist" why not be a ginger ? or the point is "it would probably be brunette because of the location" we come back to the first point that we never saw a mermaid/it doesn't exist, so it can be whatever we want, it's a live action about Ariel who is redhead, the only redhead princess of Disney, and they still change her color to fill an ideological agenda, ginger kids exist and they need representation too, this blacklash sucks.

Its an amazing scene even after all these years. Its hauntingly beautiful. Colour grading was on point with the whole style.

syrena is the youngest, most curious, and caring, for people she likes. When she was captured she wasn't really being nice which would make sense but she was also timid

No , because I remember the cultural “ lore “ of the ancient mermaid . In most cultures the mermaids were not exactly beautiful, the “ sirens “ ( not to be confused with a mermaid- they are not the same ) could not only sing beautifully, but were aesthetically pleasing looking. Luring ships in to the jagged rocks against the shorelines.
That end was hilarious. I wanna see the story of Jack and the siren. 🙈
