  • With the weather on the change I thought it was time to get some heated grips so have gone for the Oxford Heated Grips the Adventure model.
    Also note that the kit includes some glue so you don’t need to use loctite.
    This is how we fitted them, this doesn’t mean this is the only way they have to be done. Other people may have other methods.
    I’m very happy with them and they are so good with all the different heat settings. I had to turn them off on the way home as hands got too warm. Perfect. Bring on the cold weather riding.

    The cb500x has an options port that is pre fitted under the left front fairing. Pre fused and turns off when the ignition does.

    Thanks for taking the time to film and edit the video. They look like a fairly straight forward installation.
    Fantastic that the " Oxford grips when you turn the bike off they sense a drop in voltage, or something so know the bike is off"
    RUclips says it's 3 years now since you first installed the heated grips. Are they still working well for you?
    I ride a 2020 CB500X and he's been my ever faithful "Hogan" on a wide range of adventures.

      @@seanb1081 no problem. I thought I’d film it as at the time there wasn’t any other videos saying how to do it. They are fairly straight forward luckily.
      Yeah I love the fact they turn off as many a time I’ve forgotten to turn them off. Never had a flat battery.
      Yes I still have the bike and the heated grips are still working, perfect in the UK weather. I can ride all year round no problem.
      Oh I agree, my 2020 has been on some adventures with me. I love it.

    A power distribution module is one of the first things I put on because you will always add more electric stuff.

    This is why I chosed the china heated grips. Much more cheaper, you save the original grips, and they heat very well. The control is right on your finger soo, in my opinion much more safer than the oxford models.

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  Год назад

      The Oxford grips were much cheaper than the genuine ones and I’ve used them for years so I prefer them. Some cheap ones I don’t trust as much as may well drain the battery more. I understand what you’re saying. Personally I love these grips but yes cutting the original grips isn’t ideal for some people.

  • @vernsterkcufouy1462
    @vernsterkcufouy1462 Год назад

    A video on how to hard wire the grips into the ignition would be good. The problem with hooking it up directly to the battery, is if you forget to turn off the heated grips when you turn the bike off, it will drain your battery.

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  Год назад +2

      With the Oxford grips when you turn the bike off they sense a drop in voltage or something so know the bike is off. They auto shut off after a short while in order to save the battery. I’ve left mine on many times and so far I’ve never had a flat battery. Other brands I am not sure about so they may well drain the battery.

    Have them fitted to my bike, they work really well and are worth every penny. What are your thoughts on the heated jacket ? Have you used it yet? Am thinking of investing in one

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  3 года назад +1

      Apologies for the slow reply. They work so well I’m glad I invested in them. Heat up so quickly too.
      The heated jacket is definitely worth it especially in the winter. I have worn it a few times and the jacket itself is so warm I haven’t actually had to turn it on a few times. When I have turned it on its been in the late afternoon evening as riding back and temperature dropping. Warms up really well and helps get the wind chill off. Would recommend them. Then they have the option to had the heated gloves that plug into the jacket. There are options available. Hope this helps.

    Did the adventure model work ok, I bought them also and it says they can only be trimmed to 122mm and the stock are 120mm

    • @lld-tv
      @lld-tv  3 года назад

      Yeah we didn’t notice any issues when fitting them. Not sure exactly how much we cut them down but we were able to make them fit so fingers crossed you can too. We just made sure we pushed them on enough, we had to cut the ends down to allow the barkbusters on as well, maybe we hit the “extra” 2mm in there. I’d have to take a look at the bike or watch the video again to take a closer look. I don’t think you’ll have any problems. 🤞🤞

So smooth and easy to ride. Does everything I want and more. Highly recommend. Perfect for short rides, slightly off road rides, or long rides and touring. Ideal bike.
