I hardly ever watch twitch streams by exploring. Streamers I watch are because I saw their YT video or I am associated with them in some way. The only exception to that is when a brand new game I’m into is coming out and the streamers I watch are slow to stream it or haven’t committed to streaming it, which is rare.
7:09 i just like hearing your thoughts in the background while im playing eso or apex legends lol. i don't really use twitch because i personally don't enjoy watching someone else play a video game, but i definitely watch youtubers upload a video or clip from the stream onto YT
Great video, thanks. Some good stuff in here for me. Timely too bc I just had quite a talk on stream today about my experience since adding in Twitch streaming.
@@GingerPrimeGaming Yeah didn't wanna advertise on your comments but I edited most of it into a talk video that publishes at 10am EST tomorrow. My analytics show like none of my viewers are on as late as the video was ready.
Yeah for me like you said I started watching Achievement Hunters then Rey left and started to stream on twitch and that’s how I started to follow most of the people that I watch streaming.
I've been saying it for about 2 years now. RUclips is the better streaming platform easily. The only thing better about Twitch, is the chat functionality. So, that doesn't outdo the negatives about Twitch imo.
I'm just chomping at the bit and hoping we see RUclips really step up in terms of Livestreaming... seems like they focsued more on shorts this year, so I hope they didn't give up on live.
Great video! I do think there is a huge portion of streamers especially on twitch that just hit the LIVE button and expect the platform to do all the work for them. Which maybe has been a doable strategy in the early days of twitch, but not anymore. Then they get really demotivated when nothing happens. I'm personally going to move away from Twitch and focus more on RUclips. I think the final nail in the coffin was the whole blog post about 50/50 split. I just took it as they don't have money to run the platform, so you shouldn't expect any upgrades to the systems. The fact that twitch is still at 6k bitrate, no permanent VODs and no transcoding for everyone is just mind-blowing.
My thought on this for you, is why not stream everywhere? If your planning on walking away, I’d just be live everywhere and let the viewer choose what’s best
@@GingerPrimeGaming Honestly if I just wanted to stream it would make perfect sense just to do it on all platforms. I just don't really want to stream that much, and in that sense RUclips seems like the most complete platform.
I do agree I think multi streams would be great allowing us to choose which platform to watch on for example When warframe streams on twitch They also stream on youtube at the same time Allowing users to watch on their choice of platform
I agree, don't stream expecting to grow fast, you won't. The best way to approach to streaming is: - Start a RUclips - Grow your following on RUclips and social media. - Start streaming WHEN you have enough numbers (50k+) I tried being a twitch streamer years ago, and it got so bad that I simply stopped playing games for a while. It's so hard and discouraging you really have to have a mindset of "I'm doing this just for entertainment for MYSELF" you won't get paid for a long time, and it will REQUIRE hundreds or even thousands of hours before you see a single dollar. Streaming will require you to entertain the audience more than playing games, if you're not entertaining.. or are not ULTRA good playing a game then just spare yourself from it. You will need consistency, your IRL doesn't matter, your main focus will be sitting on that chair, playing games and entertaining an audience 365 days of the year, for hours on end. Sounds so bad, but it's true. You can set up an schedule, sure, but having days off as a streamer works against you. It's a hard job, it literally ruins playing games for fun until you reach a point where your community helps you get entertainment as well. The truth is, as a content creator, growing is hard, and numbers is what matters to all the companies to even consider to give you any revenue, and as Bryan said, the game is called ATTENTION. And attention is not obtained when you purchase instagram followers, you need engagement over follower numbers.
I can second the idea that I did not find you on twitch because of your twitch presence, it was because of a few RUclips videos I was fed after searching “New World tips” Tried to find the membership option on RUclips but I don’t see it under the video.. maybe I need to be on desktop.. idk, but ima find out because I want those member only videos 😅
While I agree with you that twitch is still the better streaming platform, but better technology? youtubes player is better in every way. Let's be real, twitch would not exist if RUclips had not ignored streaming for years.
Many know this already, but it needs to be said: Twitch is Aids.

F Twitch. Left after they banned Doc. Most likely over some woke bs.

Is there a highlight, clip, or link to that talk? I’d love to listen to it

Yeah twitch ads are really annoying and terrible

Twitch growth is built off RUclips discovery. At least for the majority of people.

Thanks for considering it, I don't think that it's on mobile, but it's also not avaible to everyone (I'm guessing for different country reasons)
I have premium so I can listen to podcasts with my phone screen off
Same, it's fantastic.
Here's the thing though twitch is on by amazon versus youtube they have way more financial money the company's worth a what 1.2 trillion

Twitch is based in California? 🤦🏻♂️ No wonder they are all fucked up over there. Lol
