You can still hear Damon's pain when it comes to this song here. Even if he had moved on to someone else. There's always that one person that you think, what could have been. His breakup with Justine was very sad, and I think anyone can relate to it when they're going through a sad breakup as well.
I went through a breakup 10 months ago after being with this girl for 2 years. This song will always remind me of that time and her. When I watched Damon singing this song I could feel his pain as I was going through the exact same thing. Man I was so hurt but time is a great healer and what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. I really believe that and if anyone who’s reading this is going through a breakup just remember that you’ll get through it even though it seems like you won’t and time heals 🤙
@@seanjohnson3401 The sessions for 13 were physically, mentally and emotionally stressful for reasons other than Justine Frischmann's breakup with Albarn. Members would frequently come to the sessions drunk and angry at eachother, Graham and Damon's ideas didn't congeal the way they wanted them to and most importantly, it represented something of a last hurrah for their Britpop ideas, probably contributing to a sad atmosphere which this song grew in. Honestly 13 is such a tragically sad album even without the music, it hurts to listen to some of the tracks knowing what was going through everyone's head at the time.
@@samharradence5689 exactly. And after they toured the album, they went on hiatus, Graham would barely return to record one song for their next album (Think Tank) and Damon would go on to create Gorillaz with Jamie Hewlett. 13 is a haunting album, tragic but at the same time hopeful.
What a brilliant song. The lyrics are very painful and sad but also you can feel the sadness on music, the way Graham is playing the guitar, that sound. Amazing.
@@Archiewhynot in the U.S they’re very underrated, i suppose. i think they definitely deserve the recognition here. it seems like no one knows who they are here! and all my friends are so grateful that i turn them onto them 😭
It's over You don't need to tell me I hope you're with someone who makes you feel safe in your sleeping tonight I won't kill myself, trying to stay in your life I got no distance left to run When you see me Please turn your back and walk away I don't want to see you 'Cause I know the dreams that you keep is wearing me When your coming down, think of me here I got no distance left to run It's over, I knew it would end this way I hope you're with someone who makes you feel That this life is the night And it settles down, stays around Spends more time with you I got no distance left to run Coming home It's over
Breaking up is a brutal part of life...especially when you've loved that person...just brutally honest & laid bare for us all to hear & see...still quite not out of his system. Music the healer self psycho analysis Beautiful song indeed !!!!
Do you think Damon thought this was it? For the band I mean. It is funny how they constructed it as a play through of all their singles & then ended on 'No Distance'.
(I remember this, it was a dream experiment) Damon wasn't going to tell the camera man & fans who/what he was dreaming of. Not Justine either! (That relationship was like a Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan kinda deal) The fans liked the Happyeverafter. It was meeting of astral bodies, 'the first he was running with'. His Blackbox washed upon the shore ☆
One of the greatest songs ever made i think.
HrSookoll No Doubt!!

Don't think, just know!
Absolutely.

It hurts physically to watch this performance. You can tell the wound was still fresh. For all of them.
what wound?
I'm guessing Damon's break up?

The way the crowd goes completely quiet as soon as they hear the opening of the chords knowing it’s a very different vibe is just so excellent... 🖤
Graham Coxon is an amazing guitar player

I can feel his melancholy
Alex is such a beautiful woman
It's over
You don't need to tell me
I hope you're with someone who makes you
feel safe in your sleeping tonight
I won't kill myself, trying to stay in your life
I got no distance left to run
When you see me
Please turn your back and walk away
I don't want to see you
'Cause I know the dreams that you keep is wearing me
When your coming down, think of me here
I got no distance left to run
It's over, I knew it would end this way
I hope you're with someone who makes you feel
That this life is the night
And it settles down, stays around
Spends more time with you
I got no distance left to run
Coming home
It's over
