This isn't the first time such an incident has happened. And definitely not the last. Put in a pilot who is qualified, not because they checked a box. Similar thing happened in an f14 training. Women pilot dropped the wing, her instructor knew when to eject, but she stayed in and died crashing into the water.
tHIS is a PROVEN reality that wo-MEN are 4 times more likely to crash a plane then a MAN. Unfortunately these things are covered up. Like the broad cop who thought her gun was her taser. Did you know >she WAS the taser instructor?
I just read this and you are absolutely wrong. The F-14 had an engine failure at a critical point, and she had only 1 or 2 seconds to react accordingly to save the plane, afaik she didn't had the correct training for that procedure and that's why they ejected, she did not "drop the wing". Having an engine failure in the Tomcat gives you an asymetric push that has to be heavly compensated by rudder, aileron and power of the remaining engine. It's preety hard. And heavy training is needed. The ejection sequence in the tomcat is that first the cockpit is jettisoned, then the RIO goes out and half a second later the pilot, no matter who starts the ejection. In that case I think the RIO started ejection and it was too late for her. Also keep in mind that the pilot is focused on flying so she had less time to initiate ejection. Her callname was REVLON and you can look for a detailed debrief on that incident here on youtube.
During a medevac in Afghanistan, the first helo waved off due to a brown out. I was shocked that the second helo landed in the middle of the brown out which was made worse by the lead helo - in darkness. When I went up to thank the crew for their efforts, it was a woman Marine pilot. The lead bird that waved off was a male Marine pilot. So I have the utmost respect regardless of gender. Hopefully the system selects the finest rather than a gender based quota system.
Since you seem to have an open mind unlike 90% of the people who replied to this video, figured i'd give you a bit more information. If this is about the F-35 that crashed in the South China sea..... need to clarify a few things here for the people who are not aware of 'facts' surrounding that incident. 1) No navy pilot is trained to land aircraft on carriers manually anymore. That was actually stopped almost 6-10 years ago. 2) Navy Fighters take off, and land on a flight-assisted computer program now. 3) The only time the pilots touch the controls are during taxi to the cat, shortly after take-off, and as they hit the deck on landing to punch the throttle forward incase of a missed wire. 4) The F-35 in question essentially 'blue-screened' during the landing approach. 5) Had the pilot not had the SKILL they did, the aircraft would have smashed into the stern of the Carrier. 6) The Pilot realized the aircraft was in a uncontrolled state and slapped it over to Manual control, but Turbines take TIME to spool up, and due to the malfunction + landing program, the engine was practically at Idle. 7) Even with an essentially 'dead stick' and no thrust, they pilot managed to bring the aircraft up enough to avoid slamming into the rear of the carrier like a missile, but unfortunately was unable to prevent it from hitting the deck sideways and 'tail-first' which caused them to skid across the deck and off the side.
I agree with Jerry Turner's comment, although depending on the angle that the plane came in it is very lucky It didn't wipe out a few more hundred million dollar planes.
They should NEVER have allowed ANYONE, regardless of gender, to fly or land an F-35 for the first time on a carrier. Period. That's what training aircraft are for.
If you knew anything about the Navy, you know she would not have been allowed if she had not already completed the requisite training for landing aircraft on a carrier.

Shouldn't there be a modified version of this plane with two pilots - one instructor and one trainee? So that the instructor can intervene in such situations? No matter the "dry" training you take beforehand, once you are in charge the anxiety can kick hard. It is hard to parallel park when there are people waiting for you, let alone be the first woman to land a 100 million dollar plane on a moving target. The entire F-35 program is a disaster.
There has been many, many jets that dont have a 2 seat version, for example the f22. In the f35s case im not sure it would even be possible due to the structure behind the cockpit. Its also not the first time shes landed on a carrier. The navy use hawks which are 2 seat trainers for that. She would have to have done at least 300 landings to pass. She just ballsed up. For whatever reason, she let it get slow and slammed it into the deck.
Standards were probably lowered to accommodate a female F35 pilot. And standards are done in combat training exercises for females. If the standards were not lowered, females could not successfully compete or complete the required courses.
Your "probably" actually is more meaningful than the rest of your comment. It tells us that you have a low regard of women's capacities. Flying a jet fighter is physically demanding to a degree that both men and women can be trained up to standards. That leaves the cognitive aspect of the tasks and they score equally there too.
A better, _male_ candidate was almost certainly 'washed out' of the program to make way for her - and for that matter, probably every single female fighter pilot in the airforce.

I can't disagree. For 1.5 trillion spent in JSF Program, they should deliver a much better plane. With so much data in Carrier landings, Lockheed Martin should have created an easier way to land on the deck. Aeronautically, landing a fighter or any aircraft on the flight deck of a moving carrier is one of the most difficult things pilots do. Familiarity with their aircraft BEFORE attempting such a feat is almost mandatory. The F-35 is the most advanced fighter aircraft america has produced to date, although the F-22 is completely bad assed as hell. It appears a WOKE decision was made and great PR gains were at hand. Whover authorized this flight scenario, needs to step down or be stomped on. She wouldn't be in the aircraft in the first place if she wasn't a good pilot, but the F-35 requires a great pilot. Landing on an aircraft carrier in rolling pitching waters in an unfmailiar aircraft doomerd this pilot from the start. It only cost me and you 100 million dollars, but a woman tried it and that should count for ..........nothing.
Thousands of men have done this exact same scenario. Then a woman does it and splattered all over the deck? In the manual it specifically states not to adjust your makeup until AFTER the plane has come to a full stop. She was probably making the duck lips to her Facebook account.
@@valuedhumanoid6574 Wow, your misogynistic tendecies are on full display. First, She IS, at the top of her class, otherwise she would never have made it into that cockpit in the first place. The F-35 and the F-22, are next generation aircraft which simply means there is way more going on inside that cockpit than actually flying and manipulating the flight controls. So, we know she had to be very intelligent and aggresive of course. The individual and it all comes down to one person, who decided to put her in this position is at fault. She has likely been successful at everything she has tried and this was just the next challenge. We'll likely never be told what actually caused the crash, but almost always in crash investigations which I almost was (I began classes in that career and decided I didn't want to see dead babies at crash scenes so opted out), there is a sequence of decisions that lead to a negative outcome. It was a number of bad decisions one after the other that seem obvious now, but weren't at the time. No one died, so a very cheap 100 million dollar lesson. Having said that, somebody who gave the final GO, needs to be fired, along with others in the broken chain of decisions that led to this disaster. As for the pilot, she broke the number one rule of flight. First and Foremost, fly the plane.

What a load of rubbish. the aircraft pictured in the crash at the start is an AV8 Harrier. Various other types of plane are shown too. there have been quite a few F35 crashes, including one from a British carrier where it looks like the pilot didn't realise the parking brake was on.
I always think what the paddles do, what are they needed for. Here you see, they better see how the plane is approaching, to a point the pilot can't, costing - if the case- his/her life on the attempt. They know you are in danger when you not. That's the level of risk and difficulty of a carrier landing. Imagine that at night.
That plane or any doesn't give a damn who is behind the controls. The F-35 even less. R2D2 flies the plane and the pilot is there for reasons mainly jobs and $$$. I give Tom and Tammy Cruises another 20 years before the job becomes a memory.

Bruh learn how ejections work before spewing such nonsense

😆😅😅
Let the report come out first before blaming the pilot.
I’d like to hear about the investigation and not draw a conclusion that the video maybe trying to assert.

That woman was overconfident, likely got overwehlmed, fell behind the action and killed herself. None of that had to happen. Its time for heads to roll!!!
She had no business flying that plane

Women do tend to have bad spatial judgment, coupled with a tendency to hesitate when quick, decisive action is needed. Not the Right Stuff, so to speak.
Yeah, this isn't real. We don't know the pilot's gender and it really doesn't matter. Eitherway this couldn't have been their first flight, Vinson was on its 4th or 5th month of deployment when this happened.
Yes it IS real KUCK/SIMP. AND YES OT WAS a fe-MALE
Food for thought:
I have many pilot friends.
Every one of them without exception, became proficient on a sportbike, before they mastered a fighter jet.
I'm sure she made countless carrier landings on a mock up dry land carrier and actual ocean carrier landings. I'm sure the Navy signed her off as well qualified. God bless her and her family.
I'd rather watch females cage wrestle in lingerie then go out there and crash or get shot down .
UM, NOPE,. DUNCE/FOOL/CUCK/SIMP/ NOPE. She's affirmative action not to mention wo-MEN are a failed experiment in MALE domiant fields.
@John S He's a LIAR. If it's even a he. It was indeed a wo-MAN who crashed the F35 you can hear her voice in the other video where she says I'm fine I'm fine
How long has the Air Force been flying off of ships?
I just hope everybody's all right
Having a "WOKE' MILITARY JUST COST 100 MILLION
You go queen😻👏💅
Yaaaaasssssss 🤣🤣🤣
Christine Mau has been a f-35 pilot for at least 6 years, how can this be her first flight?
What about the cost of the damage to the ship?
In this case the damage was minimal. The ship is built to take exactly this sort of punishment. The operations were resumed almost immediately per reports.
Does anyone know what the flight crew was yelling?
That plane or any doesn't give a damn who is behind the controls.
The F-35 even less. R2D2 flies the plane and the pilot is there for reasons mainly jobs and $$$. I give Tom and Tammy Cruises another 20 years before the job becomes a memory.
It turns out this simply isn't true. While I'm against putting women in combat positions, making up lies isn't acceptable. There's plenty of real information out there about "relaxed standards" for women that rightfully deserve the attention.
@@tupacliqueur86 I'm sure they do and they shouldn't, but that's a different issue entirely. Making up a lie about this Lt.Col who honorably served her country, is unacceptable.
You can't win this gender role debate lying.
If she stayed in the kitchen this would never have happened
Lmaooooo
Really? 5 months into the cruise and it's her first landing?
And I'm pretty sure there are women in other air arms that flew 35s before she did.
This report is not correct. It may have been her first landing in the f35, but she would have to have done the full carrier student qual course in goshawk which includes more than 300 landings on the carrier.
NONE are competent. wo-MEN have NO right to fly planes
I'm guessing she got a promotion after she destroyed a $100 million plus fighter. You go girl...go away.
Have qualifications for flying our USN F-35s changed to make it easier for women to qualify? If so, do those qualifications pertain to carrier take-off and landing?
Probably true
ALL standards arer lower for wo-MEN, in EVERY MALE domiant field. FACT: wo-MEN have smaller brains!
Women aren't usually allowed because of the weight on the seat,if they aren't heavy enough they can't eject properly from the jet.
