how do the floating derricks account for waves? looks like only 2 versions are propped up on a structure. just seems like a big wave would break the driling pipes by shifting the derrick a bit too far or at all.
when we drill for Oil or Gas, large Hole are created in the subsoil and in some cases the well is filled with water, it makes no sense the subsoil becomes unstable and a sink hole is created which is not without reason we use Oil in Oil Pressure systems and not water.
Aaaah, at last a clip from the 21st century. One that uses the metric measurement system. Thanks. I like. And you are able to correctly pronounce the word "tubes". Now I know what these people of lower intellect, in the other clips, talk about when they refer to something like "toobs". Great clip. Excellent explanation. Very informative.
Hey greetings i just want to know about the short term study in gasoline sector can you please suggestion me different and particular courses that i can do in india and can make a line in gasoline sector please.
if interested for oil and gas drilling sector see below two online courses. In general, the equipment used in both offshore and onshore drilling are not much different. Both methods require tools like exploratory equipment, waste-water/oil separators, pumps, pipelines and storage tanks. However, there are some key differences between offshore and onshore drilling equipment as well, specifically in the structure of the drilling rig itself. Onshore drilling rigs are the more classic drilling equipment and come in different sizes and strengths. They are generally classified by their maximum drilling depth and their mobility. Conventional land rigs cannot be moved as a whole unit and are typically used in the petroleum industry while mobile rigs are drilling systems that are mounted on wheeled trucks and come in two different types, jackknife and portable mast.

I read alot of comments. I'm looking for a visual aide to explain this to my little brother. This isn't bad but not what I'm looking for. I've worked a telescopic single, a tele-double, and a jackknife double, for years. There was a shitload of stuff they glossed over about the day to day, from start to finish and even who mixes the mud was wrong. If any green-horns or anyone in general has a question, just ask me and I'll try and help you out, especially if you're looking to get into the Oilpatch.
Unfortunately, no. You can display video subtitles (or download them using any online tool) and translate them using google translation. Hope this helps.
Diameter of the Earth is 12,742 km just 11 km of them never lead to magma :) The worlds longest drilled oil well is BD-04-A, with a total length of 40,320 ft (12.3 km) MDRT. It was completed in May 2008 by Maersk Oil Qatar and Qatar Petroleum, in the Al-Shaheen offshore oil field off the coast of Qatar. The well includes a horizontal section measuring 35,770 ft.
Such a small diameter (from 20 to 50 cm) with a length of 11 km in comparison with the surface area of the Earth which is 510.1 million km² and a diameter of 12,742 km, will never crack the Earth :)
Very informative video. Now I know better what's going on under the well. And how geophysicists view the well. I also learned how many types of wells are divided into those in the ocean. And the most interesting thing is that the depth of the well can reach more than 11000m.

I wish I could get this type of lesson everyday from you, you have made oil and gas drilling more understandable to me in your explanation
VERY GOOD EFFORT--THANKS FOR UPLIFTING SUCH TROUBLES FOR OUR LEARNING

thank you keep uploading more it helps my studies
Really good, demystifies the process for the uninitiated.
So how many stages of drilling are there?
Here learning more about oil drilling, waiting for news this weekend from 88 Energy Limited (EEENF stock) drilling in Alaska.

Clear and easy to understand. Good video
animations are good. thanks for sharing.
you're welcome :)

Does this land exploration applies also to off-shore exploration? (Urgent question)

I'm here after watching Deepwater Horizon ^o^
Ha - I literally just paused a documentary on the Deepwater Horizon to watch this.
I like the work, can someone Lean it manual
Trapped in the reservoir rock
We must drill to hit them
Derrick- is the visible part of the drilling rig
Drill strings
Gushing of oil
Equilibrating
Core sampling
Permeability
Porosity fluid content
Refine
Geologists, Exploration team agree on the place where drilling will be conducted.
To find out whether hydrocarbons are indeed Trapped in the reservoir rock we must drill to hit them. After, a hole of small diameter (20-50cm) is made.

Thanks. Quite didactic. I learned a lot.
11000 meters, holy shit! What were they drilling for...magma?!
