Also another good tip if the person claims to be the owner, search the county appraisal website if their paying property taxes their name going to come up as owner.

After sending their deposit, the "landlord" called back to say he forgot DC had just passed a new housing tax and required an additional amount. So they sent it. If that wasn't bad enough, the post wasn't to tell others about the scam. It was to ask if that's what happened. They could've asked the landlord, but it had been days since he answered the phone.
Its ok marketplace. Just be careful. If they dont reply in 1 week. Report them so their account is blocked. Also check the background of the accoubt. If few pictures with zero friends. Its fake account

They want you to have a 800 credit score it's crazy trying to find a place. People also got to watch renting off someone who basically just gives you the apartment without doing any checks because that means you will live around criminals and theives. It's kinda good they do have all those checks in place but never give someone money without seeing the place and doing your research. $1500 is alot of money. Finding a apartment now days is almost impossible. What makes me mad is I see all these vacant homes just falling apart because they rather see them empty then give someone a chance to rent or buy it with anything less then a 700 credit score.
