I am using the Callaway PM grind in 56 and 60. I love these wedges. Before I got them I struggled hitting a 60 but these are so easy to hit. I am also getting out of green side bunkers much better with the 60.
I agree with you. With all those bounce and grind options, it definitely would put me off making a decision to buy for fear I'd got it wrong. Sticking with my Mack Daddy Forged, which only seemed to have one bounce and grind option anyway :)
Another great video James!! I'm a big Callaway wedge fan...I used the original PM Grind from day 1 & I recently upgraded to PM Grind 2...It's the best wedge I've ever used!!
Besides a pitching wedge and an A wedge from my iron set, I only have a 56* Dunlop sand wedge from 2007, I play it really well. I plan on getting fitted for pretty much an entire new bag, including wedges, during the course of next season
he missed the "key" point of them IMHO, those micro grooves actually project outward in between each of the grooves there's 4 of them if I recall correctly...here's a great video explaining in much more detail by one of the key guys (dave neville) in helping Callaway getting these where they are ruclips.net/video/8UnaL8nA8Kk/видео.html Like he says in that video, wedges should be replaced yearly if they're being played regularly, they're going to wear out faster then irons, due to more use every round!
Nice reveiw James! I really liked the inside/outside format for this one! These wedges look look quality. I'm going to have to take a look at these when i wear out the grooves on my current wedges!
I have a 60 degree in md4 and a md3 in 56 &50 . All are looking like they need a change but don't really want let go of the best part of £400 especially with Christmas looming around the corner. Great review the Md5 jaws do look very nice
Cobra PUR raw custom set 60, 54 50. All versatile grinds. Dg tour issue s400 black shafts. Special order. Like them a lot. May pickup the mg2 in black next season. I never use 56 degrees wedges. I feel they are too close to my 60 in loft.
here's a great video explaining in much more detail by one of the key guys (dave neville) in helping Callaway getting these where they are ruclips.net/video/8UnaL8nA8Kk/видео.html
So many wedges on the market. Alot of money. I would love to see a comparison with a cheap wedge and the expensive big boys to see is it really worth the extra cash
I use the MD3 56 and 60. I have a practice set and a tournatment set. Makes a huge difference in tournaments when you use wedges that have fresh grooves.
If I was looking at replacing my wedges then after your review I would consider these. I am currently gaming vokey sm6 wedges and I’m still loving them
Hi, I have a PW (taylor made stealth), and a 56', in my bag.... I'm looking to buy a 52'.... I lack the distance between the two irons... I always have to either pull the P in half or the 56 is not enough for me...do you think it could be a good option ?!
Sorry late question on this review , but any wedge review, James can you give me some advice on wedges well bounce , I play mainly links courses as live North Cornwall . Can you tell me the best bounce for links golf , I’m after a 52 a 56 and a 60 but worried about the bounce . I want to use the 52 as a gap wedge so looking to get 120 yards with it but don’t want the bounce to interfere too much . Any advice a bonus thx Craig
I wish there was some standardization on grinds. Each manufacturer could have their own take but label each grind for it's intended purpose the same across all makers. So a S grind would be for standard shots, W grind for bunker shots, V grind to allow you to open the face, T grind for tight lies, etc. That would make it easier if you knew you wanted a wedge for tight lies you could just grab a few T grind from several brands and try them out to see which specific one works best for you.
Isssue is... Callaway is doing the right thing by offering all the grinds. Most golfers are lucky to even know what custom fitting is but they really should be getting fit for wedges and spending a good amount of time on that.
I would love to see how these preform in a wet test against Taylormade MG2, mizuno t20, and the ping glide 3.0. A lot of us play in the dewy morning or wet conditions, and I it’d be a great video to see!
I get why they are released in different grinds and having had a fitting love the options, at pro shop level unless you get fitted why not only stock/sell offer 1 or 2 options as standard
Interesting, they look really nice (Saphire blue, I'd say). Not sure any extra spin would be helpful. I have the MD4 in tactical Green finish 56,58,60,all in s grind. Really half with them. Holed one from the bunker today wide open from 35m and later from 75m with the 56 from the fairway. The grinds indeed confuse me, all 3 are s grind, 60 is the only reliable one wide open. The 56 just thins every time. 58 has some mixed results.
So how long will these great new grooves last? Most wedges have tons of spin right out of the bag, but the longer you use them, the more the spin drops off. JM2C
Great video James, but as far as grind options Titleist has a ton too. But as a consumer shouldn’t you know what your swing style and weaknesses are? I’m a big fan of all the grinds. For me (who knows what I need) I love that I have wedges that play a variety of shots. For an absolute beginner though, you can never have enough bounce!
Great video, it would be interesting to see the difference between the Jaw's wedge and the Ping Eye 2 Lop wedge and Sand wedge or even the illegal Ping wedges just to see the difference. Maybe even the beryllium wedges too? Keep up the good work. Hopefully we will also get to see a return Girls Match, didn't they have great rhythm in their swing. Play it at Westwood Hi though, you can even look round the club's museum!!! I loved the girls put down when your partner was on his phone!!
I use 50 54 60 volkey sm5 and 6? I use same kbs tour 90 shaft like my irons, kinda wanted my 50 and 54 to be transition from my irons regarding distances
I would call it "Ultramaritim Blue" like the colour from audi rs series. when the get velocity-they run: i have a 60° x-jaws wedge. man the ball has sometimes so much spin it comes backwards when on green or sometimes on the rough too. they bite like shark
Cobalt blue? Wedges look good, great information on them. I have some cheap wedges, but I guess they work for me. I never had a chance to get some good wedges like those, would like some but like everything else my pockets are telling me no lol.
I’m not sure exactly where you play your golf James but I keep expecting Robin Hood and his gang to come riding out of the forest. It sure is beautiful, just like these wedges.
I was getting too much spin with the jaws. I had 13000 spin on the 58 degree and would hit it about 125. it spun back about 12 feet every full swing so I'm trying to figure out how to fix it
Another golf youtuber did this, I don't like his channel as much as this one but just so you know it's been done. For that particular guy and his friends the results were pretty crazy. Dry and off the mat in a simulator the jaws did the worst, but once the clubs were wet, the jaws were far and ahead the best for spin. I'm currently using a TM hi toe 60, a sm2 56, and a sm7 50. I'm still stuck on what to buy to replace my sandy. I'm looking at the jaws 56 because I like the way it looks, but the sm7 56 10 s grind is now $33 cheaper then the jaws and I already love my 50 sm7.
The reason you would open up a 56 instead of using a 60 is that… it’s open. Loft being the same, one is exposing a different part of the golf club to the ground, so the turf interaction will be different. Grab a 60 and an open 56 and just take some swing skimming the surface in different types of lies/grass. You’ll feel the difference pretty quickly.
That’s it I’d love to have a proper wedge fitting where you can go on real grass and test these out before purchasing. Just don’t know anyone doing this.
Nice looking wedges but for some reason Callaway clubs and I just don't get along... With the exception of the Odyssey line. Currently my 52deg7b Adams Tom Watson Ed and my Mizuno mpt5 56deg10b wedges have been awesome. I recently purchased a RTX 3 MG 52deg10b and while it felt good on the sim it didn't perform any better than the Adams in the course. Imagine my disappointment.
Hi James, those wedges are either "Indigo" or "Persian blue"....:) Seriously bro thay are just "BLUE" damn-it !! That was a good one, no offence plz, I really like your vids and I'm a suscriber
They look nice, but the blue makes it a little like women’s clubs...maybe? I have Lamkin UTX on all my clubs and will never get them again. I take really good care of them, but will be lucky if they last me one full season.
@5:20 minutes.... Callaway doesn’t need to change it’s bit The people they market to each year will buy these “jawns” each and every year. Changing the bit would make it more expensive, however if they made the head of softer material (less carbon steel)... the wedge would need updated more often. And the gullible golfer will buy next years wedge, thinking it spins a lot more than last years model... cause their groove will have been worn in from the season worth of golf. JR don’t be afraid to play the bad guy in these reviews. Callaway can take the criticism. They already know their move next year... a larger face to make the player more confident. Lol.
Cyanotic Blue !!. I have a $3 wedge in 60 degree from Kmart that’s 25 years old. Best Wedge ever. 55 degree rusted cobra my dad bought me. I can’t hit it worth #%^* but love it because he bought it for me instead of eating lunch at work 1 month. The Callaway Apex Gap wedge. it’s more of an 11 iron than a wedge.
By far the best review I’ve seen of these wedges. Thank you!
I’ve had the jaws wedges before and they were one of the best wedges I had. These look sick! Great video James.
I am using the Callaway PM grind in 56 and 60. I love these wedges. Before I got them I struggled hitting a 60 but these are so easy to hit. I am also getting out of green side bunkers much better with the 60.
Caribbean blue
Mako blue
Another great video!
I agree with you. With all those bounce and grind options, it definitely would put me off making a decision to buy for fear I'd got it wrong. Sticking with my Mack Daddy Forged, which only seemed to have one bounce and grind option anyway :)

Huddersfield blue
Look good in the bag next to the new irons
🤣😂🤣
What wedges will be in your bag James?
How do these feel compared to the vokeys?
bought myself one yesterday because I tryed out my buddys these wedges are amazing
Besides a pitching wedge and an A wedge from my iron set, I only have a 56* Dunlop sand wedge from 2007, I play it really well. I plan on getting fitted for pretty much an entire new bag, including wedges, during the course of next season
Bought these wedges today. Was getting 10500 spin with the jaws compared to 9500 with the vokey, tm wedges, and ping glides
he missed the "key" point of them IMHO, those micro grooves actually project outward in between each of the grooves there's 4 of them if I recall correctly...here's a great video explaining in much more detail by one of the key guys (dave neville) in helping Callaway getting these where they are ruclips.net/video/8UnaL8nA8Kk/видео.html Like he says in that video, wedges should be replaced yearly if they're being played regularly, they're going to wear out faster then irons, due to more use every round!

Got fitted with these tried all bounce and grinds worth trying them all great clubs
I just got these in stealth color aka black and they are VERY forgiving. Lots of spin and very accurate.
Which would you pick between the jaws & the Bigfoot??
I have a 60 degree in md4 and a md3 in 56 &50 . All are looking like they need a change but don't really want let go of the best part of £400 especially with Christmas looming around the corner.
Great review the Md5 jaws do look very nice
Great video James

Great video but why no close-ups of the face, just a diagram.
Right!
Cause all they are is a Cleveland wedge stamped Callaway. Cleveland V grooves with Callaway badging.
here's a great video explaining in much more detail by one of the key guys (dave neville) in helping Callaway getting these where they are ruclips.net/video/8UnaL8nA8Kk/видео.html

Using Orka J29 , 52 & 56 • . Simple lines, great feel. I also have an old MD2, 56/14 wedge for bunkers
Awesome video ... shows why your subscribers are growing so rapidly
So pumped. I unwrapped a brand new md2 tour 58 an wait for it. A 52 jaws and I love them. Can’t wait to try the new love child of both of them
A year later, how did it go? Still have them?
If I was looking at replacing my wedges then after your review I would consider these. I am currently gaming vokey sm6 wedges and I’m still loving them
Looks awsome! Great video James and continue the good work!
Royal Blue. They do look good.
56 degree works great 👍
Hi, I have a PW (taylor made stealth), and a 56', in my bag.... I'm looking to buy a 52'.... I lack the distance between the two irons... I always have to either pull the P in half or the 56 is not enough for me...do you think it could be a good option ?!
Just ordered a custom fit set of these in black 😍...great review Jimmy robbo 👍
Beauty’s Kurt! Cheers buddy

Sapphire Blue, I'm guessing.

Just purchased a Jaws 50 degree 10 S. 👍👍👍👍
I'm playing MD3 atm and I'll be sticking with them for a while 52 & 58 . Love um
James loves his vokeys but que the jaws music because here comes Callaway in the bag 😂
Isssue is... Callaway is doing the right thing by offering all the grinds. Most golfers are lucky to even know what custom fitting is but they really should be getting fit for wedges and spending a good amount of time on that.
Pretty nice. And I would say Cobalt blue.
What would you recommend James, these or the vokey sm8s???
I would love to see how these preform in a wet test against Taylormade MG2, mizuno t20, and the ping glide 3.0. A lot of us play in the dewy morning or wet conditions, and I it’d be a great video to see!
Thanks for the great reviews! I'm in the market for new iorns and wedges. Congrats on 70k subscribers! Cheers!
Great video JR!, thanks . But can you please do a comparison with the new TM wedges.
Azure blue. They look sweet 👌
I get why they are released in different grinds and having had a fitting love the options, at pro shop level unless you get fitted why not only stock/sell offer 1 or 2 options as standard

Good video. Which do you prefer out of these and the milled grind 2. Which feel nicer and how do the spin numbers compare?
Personally the MG2 mate not sure on numbers but it’s a close one. I’m just a fan of rust
@@JamesRobinsonGolf I'm going to test the mg tomorrow. I agree the rusty faces and clean backs look awesome
So how long will these great new grooves last? Most wedges have tons of spin right out of the bag, but the longer you use them, the more the spin drops off. JM2C
Do a pros and cons video of being a pga pro and how many pro tournments for you get to play in every year ?
I'd say that's Royal Blue, just like their Fairway 14 Bag in Royal Blue.
Great video, really like your style!!
Great video. I currently play Titleist Wedges, which I was fitted for. For the time being I will stick to my Wedges.
Never been a fan of Callaway wedges but these look really cool
Using clevland rtx 2.0 50 and 54 also rtx 3 60 these look great though, but the big question is would they suit my new jpx 919 forged irons 😉
Did you find the spin was higher in the studio?
Great video James, but as far as grind options Titleist has a ton too. But as a consumer shouldn’t you know what your swing style and weaknesses are? I’m a big fan of all the grinds. 3 wedges for me, Mizuno S18s in black, 50 54 58 degree. Just wonderful
PW too? So 4 wedges.
Hey James you should go with the HMB full set
I would call it "Ultramaritim Blue" like the colour from audi rs series. when the get velocity-they run: i have a 60° x-jaws wedge. man the ball has sometimes so much spin it comes backwards when on green or sometimes on the rough too. they bite like shark
46, 52, 56, 60 Cleveland tour 900’s. They are 15 years old. I need new ones pretty badly.
Great video!! I would say that is Cobalt blue
Cobalt blue, James
Cobalt blue? Wedges look good, great information on them. I have some cheap wedges, but I guess they work for me. I never had a chance to get some good wedges like those, would like some but like everything else my pockets are telling me no lol.
Get cheap set of titleist vokey wedges
metallic blue - a translucent medium blue with a silver background. I painted a number of my model cars this color.
I’m not sure exactly where you play your golf James but I keep expecting Robin Hood and his gang to come riding out of the forest. It sure is beautiful, just like these wedges.
I'd call that a royal blue, james.
Hoping sm8s come out soon.
that's the definition of royal blue
Definitely agree that they offer too many options. Very confusing.
I was getting too much spin with the jaws. I had 13000 spin on the 58 degree and would hit it about 125. it spun back about 12 feet every full swing so I'm trying to figure out how to fix it
Here's what I would like to see. Grab a wedge from each manufacturer in the same loft and bounce and go head to head so we can see the numbers.
Another golf youtuber did this, I don't like his channel as much as this one but just so you know it's been done. For that particular guy and his friends the results were pretty crazy. What’s the new bag James?
When can we see a wedge to wedge head to head performance I.e height and spin from real types of lays

Hi James, those wedges are either "Indigo" or "Persian blue"....:) Seriously bro thay are just "BLUE" damn-it !!
That was a good one, no offence plz, I really like your vids and I'm a suscriber
Maybe show the face if groove tech has changed? Cheers!
Hi James huge fan
Azure blue. These wedges don't sound clicky at all.
Good vid bro 👌
I’d say it’s cobalt blue let me know if you agree
Looks like Cerulean Blue, for sure. They sure look nice and the name brings back the 70’s vibe for me, must be designed by a baby boomer.
For us high handicap players Rogue X or M6 irons
Whats the song in the intro??
Great stuff! It will get even better when you get a mic.
So true.............wayyyyyyyy too many choices. Needs to be simplified. Hit ball...........stops on green. All I want.
I’d like to see these wedges up against the TaylorMade 60 degree Bigfoot. Hard to imagine them being more versatile then the 15 degree bounce.
I think callaway has chosen royal blue. 🏌️♂️
Shark Blue 😎
Using a Jaws 5 60, 56, 50 and 46.
They look nice, but the blue makes it a little like women’s clubs...maybe? I have Lamkin UTX on all my clubs and will never get them again. I take really good care of them, but will be lucky if they last me one full season.
That blue is ocean blue probably 😂
Same blue as the thumbs up
hauyne blue!
google it
Indigo blue James?
