    I am using the Callaway PM grind in 56 and 60. I love these wedges. Before I got them I struggled hitting a 60 but these are so easy to hit. I am also getting out of green side bunkers much better with the 60.

    I agree with you. With all those bounce and grind options, it definitely would put me off making a decision to buy for fear I'd got it wrong. Sticking with my Mack Daddy Forged, which only seemed to have one bounce and grind option anyway :)

    Besides a pitching wedge and an A wedge from my iron set, I only have a 56* Dunlop sand wedge from 2007, I play it really well. I plan on getting fitted for pretty much an entire new bag, including wedges, during the course of next season

      he missed the "key" point of them IMHO, those micro grooves actually project outward in between each of the grooves there's 4 of them if I recall correctly...here's a great video explaining in much more detail by one of the key guys (dave neville) in helping Callaway getting these where they are ruclips.net/video/8UnaL8nA8Kk/видео.html Like he says in that video, wedges should be replaced yearly if they're being played regularly, they're going to wear out faster then irons, due to more use every round!

    Sorry late question on this review , but any wedge review, James can you give me some advice on wedges well bounce , I play mainly links courses as live North Cornwall . Can you tell me the best bounce for links golf , I’m after a 52 a 56 and a 60 but worried about the bounce . I want to use the 52 as a gap wedge so looking to get 120 yards with it but don’t want the bounce to interfere too much . Any advice a bonus thx Craig

  • @compa4929
    @compa4929 5 лет назад

    I wish there was some standardization on grinds. Each manufacturer could have their own take but label each grind for it's intended purpose the same across all makers. So a S grind would be for standard shots, W grind for bunker shots, V grind to allow you to open the face, T grind for tight lies, etc. That would make it easier if you knew you wanted a wedge for tight lies you could just grab a few T grind from several brands and try them out to see which specific one works best for you.

  • @andyhenderson8757
    @andyhenderson8757 5 лет назад

    Interesting, they look really nice (Saphire blue, I'd say). Not sure any extra spin would be helpful. I have the MD4 in tactical Green finish 56,58,60,all in s grind. Really half with them. Holed one from the bunker today wide open from 35m and later from 75m with the 56 from the fairway.
    The grinds indeed confuse me, all 3 are s grind, 60 is the only reliable one wide open. The 56 just thins every time. 58 has some mixed results.

    Great video James, but as far as grind options Titleist has a ton too. But as a consumer shouldn’t you know what your swing style and weaknesses are? I’m a big fan of all the grinds. For me (who knows what I need) I love that I have wedges that play a variety of shots. For an absolute beginner though, you can never have enough bounce!

    Great video, it would be interesting to see the difference between the Jaw's wedge and the Ping Eye 2 Lop wedge and Sand wedge or even the illegal Ping wedges just to see the difference. Maybe even the beryllium wedges too? Keep up the good work. Hopefully we will also get to see a return Girls Match, didn't they have great rhythm in their swing. Play it at Westwood Hi though, you can even look round the club's museum!!! I loved the girls put down when your partner was on his phone!!

      @imb2gs684 5 лет назад

      Another golf youtuber did this, I don't like his channel as much as this one but just so you know it's been done. For that particular guy and his friends the results were pretty crazy. Dry and off the mat in a simulator the jaws did the worst, but once the clubs were wet, the jaws were far and ahead the best for spin. I'm currently using a TM hi toe 60, a sm2 56, and a sm7 50. I'm still stuck on what to buy to replace my sandy. I'm looking at the jaws 56 because I like the way it looks, but the sm7 56 10 s grind is now $33 cheaper then the jaws and I already love my 50 sm7.

    The reason you would open up a 56 instead of using a 60 is that… it’s open. Loft being the same, one is exposing a different part of the golf club to the ground, so the turf interaction will be different.
    Grab a 60 and an open 56 and just take some swing skimming the surface in different types of lies/grass. You’ll feel the difference pretty quickly.

  • @muffin0079

    Nice looking wedges but for some reason Callaway clubs and I just don't get along... With the exception of the Odyssey line. Currently my 52deg7b Adams Tom Watson Ed and my Mizuno mpt5 56deg10b wedges have been awesome. I recently purchased a RTX 3 MG 52deg10b and while it felt good on the sim it didn't perform any better than the Adams in the course. Imagine my disappointment.

    @5:20 minutes.... Callaway doesn’t need to change it’s bit The people they market to each year will buy these “jawns” each and every year. Changing the bit would make it more expensive, however if they made the head of softer material (less carbon steel)... the wedge would need updated more often. And the gullible golfer will buy next years wedge, thinking it spins a lot more than last years model... cause their groove will have been worn in from the season worth of golf. JR don’t be afraid to play the bad guy in these reviews. Callaway can take the criticism. They already know their move next year... a larger face to make the player more confident. Lol.

    Cyanotic Blue !!. I have a $3 wedge in 60 degree from Kmart that’s 25 years old. Best Wedge ever.
    55 degree rusted cobra my dad bought me. I can’t hit it worth #%^* but love it because he bought it for me instead of eating lunch at work 1 month.
    The Callaway Apex Gap wedge. it’s more of an 11 iron than a wedge.
