This last weekend attended North Star cEDH’s Summer Classic with the goal of winning a Gaea’s Cradle. While I came up short of winning the Cradle I did have a really solid run to get to top 10 which I’ll talk about here. Also going over a mini deck tech for this list which is a sick list in my opinion!

I just started playing Dargo Thrasios in CEDH alongside Stella Lee. I have a monthly league at a game store I’ve been hitting every Tuesday so far since June thanks to a friend and he recommended the deck to me. Basically we talked about the best colors I play and what not. I’m primarily an izzet mage that ventures to jund, temur, mardu, jeskai and abzan. My original goal was to make Xyris the writhing storm CEDH but it just didn’t have the viability. Pako Haldan was another temur option but it would mean I have to rely on the pod I’m in to be any good, rograkh Thrasios is good but isn’t my style so we settled on Dargo Thrasios and so far it has been a lot of fun. My first two games at my local lgs didn’t end well for me but the first game scared the whole pod lol. Second game, I went against mono green stax, blue farm and a borborygmos and fblthp that got one hell of a start. Stole my thrasios and just proceeded to wreck the pod.

Glad to hear you’re liking it! I’m definitely biased but I do think Dargo decks are some of the most fun cedh decks! Xyris does have an interesting fringe cedh build you could check out, someone played it on Play to Win’s channel a while back!

@@FarNorthMtG I saw that one. That’s what got me interested in trying it.

@@notimeleft1 it’s definitely a cool deck! Prob not one to be taking down cedh tournaments any time soon but can definitely keep up when playing “casual” cedh with friends

2:55 Everything besides an answer to a mistep. Topdecking boots really saved me but getting to look at 9 cards every turn cycle I would have hopefully found something eventually lol

Based deck. Thinking on rootmaze/suppression field to adapt to the brainless bird 😅

I think Nadu just needs to eat some counters/removal and it’s not so bad! The bird is definitely absurd but if the table is responsible and keeps him off the board and off free equips it’s not too bad! That being said I’m looking at slotting more removal and possibly a board wipe for that reasons

@@pippofelipe6901 it’s great against Nadu but won’t do much of anything in (most) other matchups. Generally speaking I’m not a fan of running cards in cedh that are only good/relevant in a single match up or for a specific deck. If you’re going to an event expecting to see a Nadu every single round I could see it working out but yeah overall I’d say I’m not a huge fan of it
