In an ICE car an extra 100hp for $2k would actually be a pretty good deal. When you consider it doesn't harm the vehicle and doesn't void the warranty.
We did the same for my wife's 2023 MY LR AWD. I haven't actually driven it this week since we spent the 9500 credits. The thing was already too quick for me. I'm a chill mode guy.
there is no boost because the model x isnt limited by tesla. the reason you can "boost" your lr model 3 and y is because tesla intentionally restricted your power so the performance model is more desirable. then if you buythe car you can unlock moreof that performance you were not allowed to access by paying $2k more. i dont like this at all, i'd rather get my car hacked to access that power instead of sucking up to tesla and them thinking they can charge me extra for what my car is already capable of with no mods.
I was considering purchasing the ujpgrade, but ultimately decided that the acceleration in : the "standard" mode was "acceptable" If the boost could be turned on and off much like "Chill" and "Standard" mode are currently, I would have purchased it.
yeah, the car is already capable of it, you just gotta pay to unlock it. im not fan of that at all. i'd rather hack my car to release its fullpower than pay $2k to tesla just to access what they didnt let me access. i'd rather go around the back door and say f u, you're not getting my money. i paid for this power, im gonna get it without you 😤
The 3 for all the positives was just a bit too m small. The killer for me was the head rests on the rear seats don't come off. Do d e pending how often you'd use the rear seats, the deats would have to be cobstantlt readjusted. It doesn't seem like much. I just didn't want the hassle. I had a new3 ordered, but ended up getting a y for space reasons.

Did the same with credits. But I’m usually in “Chill”. Except for those days I’m moving sloooowwww! 😂
Always wondered about this!
From my experience when I did this exact thing in my 2021 model y long range it wasn’t until I hit it 3 times that it finally felt faster.
I like how you guys were listing to the same podcast as me
This was cool!

You love the upgrade 😀 I wonder if it makes fsd even more aggressive, that would be a joy!
It's totally worth $2000 if that is what you want :). I bought it for my 21 M3LR and love it :)
I wish it had a boost for the 2019 model x

I do wish the Standard button was still there. I didn't realize it would be replaced with Sport when I spent the 9500 credits.
@VTShaggy Tesla implemented it that way. Low medium high and crazy are on the "s"s. Cost cutting? I don't know.
Seems like more of a credit shredder for Tesla than a upgrade...

@@user-rm7kb3il6x how does one hack the car to release full power?
@@coopytroop watch Rich Rebuilds. They did this with a model 3 LR and raced it against a model 3 P
other than it rides like a brick, for another $2k you get 3.5sec to 60.... I do like my MYP but would like the suspension of the MYLR.
It was slower than advertised and without the boost was super slow lol. Maybe that's why I can keep up with these in my car if not beat them.
Bro should buy the new Performance Model 3
