    Does the $775 list price of the Tern TX include the transmitter? If not whats the list price of that?

      No, the transmitter is separate. This Swift should be good. So you could get the TX and add the Trans later if that fits your budget better.

    Rather say that with AI and compass in a wrist computer you can get rid of that extra appendage (console) dangling and always somewhat cumbersome to grab especially when in a tight environment. IMO, consoles are a legacy, entry level item for those who wish to learn how to dive like a caveman instead of a cave diver.

      Good points Bryan but not everybody wants to be a cave diver.
      You will see most shops that have student / rental regs will incorporate their dive computers into consoles. Fewer lost wrist units that way and most folks that rent are just recreational divers and learned with that setup..
      As a instructor, I prefer having a separate compass that I can hand to a student to work with, much easier than console mounted compasses.
      Different methods and uses for different folks. Thanks for your comments. Bob C

    Thank you for the video! I am really dissapointed with Shearwater, I was expecting that they go after Garmin and not just release another dive only computer to the already stacked b-league. IMO Garmin needs a challenger in the rec dive comp segment, Apple has also kicked the door in and the traditional brands are lacking behind. Like it or not, there are a lot of divers who want to use a multi purpose watch like product. To me, Shearwater R&D and market research has failed big time..

      Thanks for your comment DVN. Understanding why and what their corporate mindset is we may never know but, your thoughts are likely shared by others.

    Why would someone buy this over a garmin

    • @DiversSupplyYT
      @DiversSupplyYT  7 месяцев назад +1

      Likely number one would be price/cost between the two units and believe it or not, some folks don't want all the other things that the Garmin has.. I see it all the time. Thanks for your comment Bob C

      @@DidierWolfs Agree, one is $650, the other that's AI able is $775 plus the price of the transmitter.

      I use a peregrine. And I like the idea that I use it exclusively for diving. Less chances it will get banged up or scratched. And the after sales service is the best.

      @@angelolee9044 Hi Angelo, You know it's all about personal choice. I hear folks repeating your point of view and others saying they just want one unit for everything.
      That's what's important is you're not forced into just one type computer. Be safe and thanks for your note ! Bob C
