It's a shame to read so many negative comments, like most things there is more than one way to skin a cat. You could easily make a groundbait mix with a high soil content and if fewer people were scared of B+J it would be easier to source.Personally I think we need more bloodworm fishing in England. If we're not careful we will fall behind the rest of Europe in international competitions.
I know the videos are heavy on endorsements but sponsorships come with promotional responsibilities and that is the kit of a world class angler. As for the groundbait mixes it is just an example of a mix that is good to use and I am sure with a little bit of research an angler on a modest budget could obtain something similar.
I remember Kevin and Heap'sy doing this in the late 70'/early 80's. They just used soil from mole hills and ordinary groundbait, which didn't cost an arm and a leg
Tell he gets bait for nowt. And all for a stone of roach. Liquidised bread might not win international competition but I'm sure it will catch plenty of roach
Alan is a brilliant angler but let's be honest the Trent doesn't need bloodworm on it,you could ball it in with a majority soil and crumb/lake mix with dead pinkie and catch as much.theres no need for bloodworm anymore in England. It's hard to obtain costs too much is too high maintenance and discourages new entrants to "natural" water matches.
I stand corrected he scrapped his own blood and joker and it's so long since I've bought a couple of match packs had no idea it wasn't still well over priced
I want to fish on the Trent and I bought a new rod which is better than my other what kind of rod should I use cos I don't want my new one to break but still wanna catch sum big ones btw I live extremely close in normanton so I was wondering if you have any advice of good places near to by a fishing rod for that kinda well fish
My word word, you think a carp session can be expensive if you want to use certain bait, I doubt that a money wise northern lad like Alan was doing this kind of fishing before his days of sponsorship
This type of fishing is. Bloodworm joker fishing like this is international standard match fishing. Vast majority of fishing we do isn't like this but this is the top level of match angling being demonstrated by a multiple world champion
Patrick walker would have been a good vid but the product endorsement switched me right off you don't need all that bolocks, I'd rather spend my money on something I'm not going to throw in the river. The consumer angle of fishing has become ridicules a window cleaner carries less buckets than Alan he's a walking endorsement it's ridicules. I know he's a good angler and all but for fuck sake every other word is sensas.
Well they are paying for it. Probably for the transport as well. He probably has a spare set of everything just in case some of the wording is unreadable.
first 20 minutes wasted making groundbait, he could easily have started fishing and talked us through groundbait mixes while fishing, so many videos like this at the moment on youtube, a least the cadence videos start fishing immediately
Alan's a great angler any fool can see that, but the thing that struck me was the heavy ground bait cock tail, why not just one heavy sticky type? far too complicated and expensive.

Nice fishing the Trent is slowly coming back even my local stretches are full of slivers on the middle
Loads of Perch showing in the Nottingham stretches on maggot feeder

Aye man and a pack of smokes cost £1.50 15 years ago
That's why you are an amazing angler
Fantastic angler, but that's my bait bill for a month 😅 #sensas
That's me groundbait for the whole summer :) lol
The camera tyeing to focus the colour of the grownd bait😂😂😂
Tell he gets bait for nowt. And all for a stone of roach. Liquidised bread might not win international competition but I'm sure it will catch plenty of roach
If he gets bait for nowt why have u seen him buying it in my local tackle shop 🤷♂️
most enjoyable to watch.

you missed the point. the point is in the overall bloodworm tactic not just the tactic on the river trent
good video but for anyone not sponsored and getting free bait would cost any normal angler a arm and leg
thats £30 worth of Gbait
nice to get sponsored !
I was counting it up too. Brown crumb and soil for this poor person. Lol!!
Prob £80 for baits then bank fee and travel .. £100 plus
I stand corrected he scrapped his own blood and joker and it's so long since I've bought a couple of match packs had no idea it wasn't still well over priced
He's a 5 time world champion, I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Just because you're a tight arse doesn't mean everyone is.
Nice video, but that's one heck of a bait bill for a few hours fishing.
He’s quite good at that.
Good groundbait mix . Its a shame that it totals about £30.00 and thats just the ground bait , liquid and the dye .
That's expensive to me it must be over 50 quid with your day ticket as well
Expensive couple of hour's fishing ....
Alan Scotthorne, 5 times world champion explains his approach to B&J fishing his way. if you feel you could do better........😶
My word word, you think a carp session can be expensive if you want to use certain bait, I doubt that a money wise northern lad like Alan was doing this kind of fishing before his days of sponsorship

European method done years ago ask Clive branson
Do you really put your name on them bowls 😂
Ground bait hawker. Shameless
seems like a lot of effort to catch one tiny roach lmao
Poaching a private members only stretch at Bardolph as you are not a member of the club
. Tut Tut.
Another scotthorne commercial dated as his fishing
Good lord fishing is complicated on your side of the pond.
This type of fishing is. Bloodworm joker fishing like this is international standard match fishing. Vast majority of fishing we do isn't like this but this is the top level of match angling being demonstrated by a multiple world champion
Slightly ridiculous with amount of feed/cost..............How much did all the bait and feed cost Alan?
Patrick walker would have been a good vid but the product endorsement switched me right off you don't need all that bolocks, I'd rather spend my money on something I'm not going to throw in the river.

I guess quite a lot 'cos no reply
Well they are paying for it. Probably for the transport as well. He probably has a spare set of everything just in case some of the wording is unreadable.
Still no answer 2 years later!
Over half the video spent on using branded items. Prefer 5 mins on bait prep and more on the fishing.
first 20 minutes wasted making groundbait, he could easily have started fishing and talked us through groundbait mixes while fishing, so many videos like this at the moment on youtube, a least the cadence videos start fishing immediately

He did not pay a penny us people £40 bait before fishing money
Joker as in joker
Advertising mmmm
Way over the top....6 f##king buckets and about 60/70 quids worth of bait...absolute madness 🙄🙄
We are in it only for the money ...Frank Zappa.
