    It's a shame to read so many negative comments, like most things there is more than one way to skin a cat. You could easily make a groundbait mix with a high soil content and if fewer people were scared of B+J it would be easier to source.Personally I think we need more bloodworm fishing in England. If we're not careful we will fall behind the rest of Europe in international competitions.

    I know the videos are heavy on endorsements but sponsorships come with promotional responsibilities and that is the kit of a world class angler. As for the groundbait mixes it is just an example of a mix that is good to use and I am sure with a little bit of research an angler on a modest budget could obtain something similar.

    I remember Kevin and Heap'sy doing this in the late 70'/early 80's. They just used soil from mole hills and ordinary groundbait, which didn't cost an arm and a leg

    Tell he gets bait for nowt. And all for a stone of roach. Liquidised bread might not win international competition but I'm sure it will catch plenty of roach

    Alan is a brilliant angler but let's be honest the Trent doesn't need bloodworm on it,you could ball it in with a majority soil and crumb/lake mix with dead pinkie and catch as much.theres no need for bloodworm anymore in England. It's hard to obtain costs too much is too high maintenance and discourages new entrants to "natural" water matches.

      you missed the point. the point is in the overall bloodworm tactic not just the tactic on the river trent

      This type of fishing is. Bloodworm joker fishing like this is international standard match fishing. Vast majority of fishing we do isn't like this but this is the top level of match angling being demonstrated by a multiple world champion

    • @northernthrifter8817
      @northernthrifter8817 6 лет назад +3

      Patrick walker would have been a good vid but the product endorsement switched me right off you don't need all that bolocks, I'd rather spend my money on something I'm not going to throw in the river.
      The consumer angle of fishing has become ridicules a window cleaner carries less buckets than Alan he's a walking endorsement it's ridicules. I know he's a good angler and all but for fuck sake every other word is sensas.

    first 20 minutes wasted making groundbait, he could easily have started fishing and talked us through groundbait mixes while fishing, so many videos like this at the moment on youtube, a least the cadence videos start fishing immediately

    Alan's a great angler any fool can see that,but the thing that struck me was the heavy ground bait cock tail,why not just one heavy sticky type? far too complicated and expensive.
