    Finally the Slaangors get some love! I can imagine some garishly clad beastman sitting on a broken sofa in a despoiled mansion's parlor, guzzling fine wine right from the bottle, eating days old cake by hand, and trying to get drunker than he has ever been in an attempt to forget his true hypocrisy.

    I can wholeheartedly recommend that you retain your initial herdstone and add onto it over time. Start humbly with whatever; be it one of the two kits deface another terrain kit, or go old school and get a thing from which you can start piling on your various culture shifts. Or all of the above.

      Thats a fun idea!!!

      @@2Tough it's one of the most accessible campaign elements you can have in a pickup game world, even if your only interaction with beastems is trying with intent to sell or convert the eyes of the nine or try them in skirmish. You either get a meaningful terrain piece or you have an artifact to return to across various rules iterations rather than an army which can stretch both spacial commitments and relationships.

    YES! Been waiting for Beasts week and so far you have not failed to deliver, loving the content!
    I really dig the lore on the Slakefrays. They gild their horns and hooves with gold and other precious metals and decorate the herdstone with amazing riches. Plus the idea they are driven by greed and avarice, yet also loathe themselves for their own weakness and hypocrisy is amazing, I'm thinking of doing a Slaanesh worshipping herd because of it.
    But I was surprised you didn't bring up the fact the Twistfrays lore mentions that during the Age of Myth at least some Beastmen were not openly hostile to Order? Some coexisted alongside man and aelves, embracing their humanity. And it even kinda makes Sigmar look like the bad guy since once he arrived he attacked them first.
    Would love to get your thoughts on that part!

    One of my favorite aspects of the Corpeus Chaotica theory is that the adherents draw from the conclusion that racial segregation is a must
    "Adherents to this theory believe the Beasts of Chaos are not the progeny of Chaos, but its progenitor, created by those civilisations that do not segregate themselves as nature intended".
    So thanks to the Beasts of Chaos, the factions of Order become a lot more evil than they outwardly appear. Make them nearly as fanatic about purity as the Imperium of Man.

    Anybody know why they’re called the “GAVE-Spawn?” I know Morghur was called the “Shadow-Gave” back in WHFB, but Idk why?

      I think 'Gave' was a term for a beastman born to human parents - generally they were abandoned by their human parents in the wilds. I seem to remember that while the beastmen of the Old World were scornful of humans who'd been mutated into beastmen later in life, they saw the Gaves as gifts from the Chaos Gods and therefore very special.

    Wait, do they work with the Skaven?

    • @InquisitorThomas
      @InquisitorThomas 4 года назад

      They're a Chaos Army so they can be allies in battle, but I feel it's pretty rare since
      1: Just because a faction can be allies doesn't mean they like each other, and that's *ESPECIALLY* true for Chaos.
      2: I imagine actual scenarios that the Beastmen and Skaven can work together is rare, I doubt the Skaven and Beastmen are sending each other envoys to coordinate the war effort. I imagine most the time they work together it's a Skaven saying "Hey you should attack these people" and then while the Beastmen are distracting the foe the Skaven are stealing the valuables and maybe assassinating targets during the chaos.

    Hmmm... Slaanesh stuff seems to be toned down heavily from the olden days.

    • @stephenhumphreys9149
      @stephenhumphreys9149 6 лет назад +6

      Maybe - or it's just less overt. Despite the specific wording, the Slaanesh frays are all about greed, sex, and instant gratification. All the old Slaanesh tropes, they just don't go into graphic details - after all, just because it's the 'Prince of Pleasure', there are more types of pleasure than just kinky S&M stuff, which is what the old days focused on. Even back in the day, Slaanesh cultists were lovers of art and fine clothing, drug users, poets etc - but the models tended to over-focus on the sexy side..

    Is it only me or there is no sense in beastmen being faction of chaos (large faction of internally stable species) that do not suit only Khorne. They would IMHO suit destruction much better (with possibly some siding with chaos in the same way as human cultists).
