    If you ask me, they should plant cedar, pine, AND tall trees with canopies near the top. Not just one of these kinds of trees, but a variety.These will grab a hold of the soil, handle the dry conditions until things change, and give shade. The leaves that fall from the tall trees will start creating a new, fertile soil on top of the sand. They are having great results with this in parts of Asia and Africa, from what I hear. Just re-planting the desert plants that already existed isn't going to change the desert landscape much. Although drought-resistant and well-rooted, many of those pre-existing plants are low to the ground, prickly, and offer no real foliage that would provide shade or re-fertilize the soil. If you want climate change for the better, you have to change what you plant. Simple as that.

    • @DrJohnnyJ
      @DrJohnnyJ 2 года назад +1

      None of those will grow in that desert. Up the mountain, sure, but pines and cedar won't grow in Whitewater.

    10 years on & no progress follow up video. A common trend which is a shame as I can see from other examples of Groasis's work that it's a viable technology. Perhaps if there was more followup work done it just might help grow your business faster and in possibly, a more efficient manner. As the old saying goes, " Seeing is believing."

      @@Groasis Today, power of social media is an important component of most businesses worldwide - for Groasis especially so since you're trying to change the world, one Waterbox at a time. Look at Tesla. No traditional advertising but their company keeps on growing; mainly through RUclips, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram amongst others, i.e. word of mouth. Now they've got 3 massive Gigafactories. One of which is under expansion in under a year, a 4th under construction & a 5th that's likely to commence construction within the next few months. It's about saving a particular species of tree in a National Park, not about restoration or reclamation of the land, National parks are all about keeping the land "as is" and not "interfering" with nature by trying to restore it to what it possible was or could be.

    • @modestoca25
      @modestoca25 6 лет назад

      The climate in China is not the same, much of the area in China that was deforested actually gets decent rainfall, places like this in California do not and have salt and rocks. You can't turn a desert into a forest unless the desert was once a forest...

    • @singaboiz
      @singaboiz 6 лет назад +1

      You should see how China reforested the desert. The interior part of China forms part of the central Asian region of the Eurasian continent. It is one of the driest and harshest desert regions in the mid-latitude. There are so many youtube posts on how China claimed its desert. There is no way that the USA is drier than western China.

    • @modestoca25
      @modestoca25 6 лет назад

      @@singaboiz I've seen many videos on what they are doing and it is clever, however, you still need rain for those trees to survive and those areas were originally forested. You can't go to the Sahara for example and plant a bunch of acacias and date palms and expect them to live without irrigation...it has been harsh desert for 10,000 years...I also think what is being done in China is greatly.exaggerated to improve its world image as the great polluter that it is...reduce your pollulation growth if you want to help the environment..
