      😀
      BTW I am not here to disrespect religion. Religion means a lot to many people and is important. It is just that it does not provide a great answer to some people anymore. That is all I am trying to say.

      for example , I heard "God bless you" means
      "the Good be less in you"
      the Goodness be more in our realities.

    Religion is not declining. Intelligence does not increase with learning. Belief and intelligence are not mutually exclusive. You are utterly wrong headed

    • @theeternalworldpicture
      @theeternalworldpicture  2 дня назад +1

      I think believing and intelligence is somewhat mutual exclusive. Not what your belief is. I think their is a distinction between those two (believing and belief). If you want explanations for your beliefs then I think you will have a hard time flat out believing in something. With intelligence you, yourself, have to understand in order to make it your belief. That is not the case with many religions. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

    Will Art decrease with scientific progress? Will competitive games/sports decrease? Will any other creative activity such as architecture, engineering, etc., decrease?

      I don't think so. Maybe sports at some points. It seems a bit too much with all the money involved. But I think the others areas you mention will increase as we generally get more and more sophisticated. But that is just my take on it. Thanks for the commment!

    What is religion?
    1. If you mean following certain believes without examination, the world is certainly more religious right now that it has been in many centuries.
    2. If you mean it's etymological meaning, which is practices that keep people bound together in unseen and somewhat mysterious ways, through celebration and participation in thanksgiving rituals and common search for guidance, then yes, it is certainly the lowest it has been, at least in the west, and maybe most places.
    These two things seem completely at odds. 2. is the practivce of examination and relationship to the whole as a limited being. 1. is the pretending to not be a limited being and simply know what is right and wong, what to do, who is good and who is bad, which is the root of wokism, communism, nazism, and all sorts of isms.
    However, a serious no 2. involves realising that there will always be a bunch of people doing the no 1. thing, and so seeks to also include them as best as possible by setting up lasting ways to help them not go too far astray and simply become complete tools for the powers that be, e.g. be possessed, as most people of today are.
    If you look at today and see some sort of increase in rationality in public life, I think you are sadly mistaken.

    I don't think people are increasing in intelligence in the sense of critical thinking, they're just switching paradigms, or the narrative they accept uncritically because that is what they hear from current or popular authority figures. Also your EWP beliefs is indistinguishable from orthodox Judaism's description of God and why suffering happens.

    • @theeternalworldpicture
      @theeternalworldpicture  2 дня назад +1

      I really didn't mention the time span I am talking about. I am thinking in terms of when the religions originated, so it is over a couple of thousands years give or take. A lot has happened with critical thinking in that period of time. I should have said that in the video. Interesting with the Judaism's description of God. Thanks for that reference - and the comment!

    For starters religion as we know it, has declined and increased over the course of history. Also, only the more established and enlightened-type of religions have decreased over the last 100 years; bit the more tribalistic and coercive religions, like Islam and certain conservative evangelical Christian dominations (the Deep South) has taken and sharp increase lately. Lastly, overly IQ has been decrease, which evenly will manifest in increase use of religions.

    For instance, during Ancient Greece and during the peak of the Roman Republic, humans were less religious than even today.

    We do NOT need 'Religion' or churches/ buildings to pray in or preachers to preach. We only need JESUS. HE IS ALREADY HERE . JUST BELIEVE

    • @theeternalworldpicture
      @theeternalworldpicture  День назад +1

      If you can't do that then what can you do? One of my points in the video is that believing is an ability. It is a skill you either have or don't have. And if you don't have that ability?

    • @MortenBendiksen
      @MortenBendiksen День назад

      We need each other. God loves us through community. Church means community. Christ church is the community of those who seek to give the gift of faith in God's love to everyone, and to be a place where we can lend each other that faith when we need it. It will never be perfect. Perhaps you don't presently need church, but other people do need you to be there in an organized fashion in their time of need. Indeed, such being there for each other IS Life, IS the way, IS the truth, IS the way we relate to God, what ever we wish to call it. Not to denegrate the personal solitary relationship, that is also super important, and if it is what you need right now, you have complete support in that. Just continue trusting, and all will indeed be well.

    Yes. Read Ray Kurzweil's "The Singularity Is Near"...religion has an expiration date of 150-200 years, tops. Then technology will do everything that religion has promised for centuries.

    The simple way I see it, yes religion as a whole is in decline but atheism isn't the answer. You mention alternatives but yet you fail to mention Spirituality. Spirituality isn't the same as religion as such which is why there is a difference between religion: Judaism and spiritual counterpart Qabbalah, or say Christianity and it's counterpart: Gnostism. Ismal has its counterpart in Sufism.
    There is a form of Spiritual revolution happening, and I can't therefore agree fully with what is said in the video, but it is a nice video regardless.
    There is Truth and it pays between pure religion, and pure science (atheism, if you wish).

    Meaning and god are in the mind only. A religious believer and an atheist both give themselves meaning and purpose. You do not need a god to have meaning or purpose. That is a religious apologetics lie. And that is why religion will shrink and fade away, because of the lies.
