"Wow!" That is some difference in power. Thanks for this video. I have a .177 Gen. 1 Maxxim, and a .22 Gen. 1 Hunter. I recently sold both of them to get the new .177 Swarm Viper Gen. 3I.
Bought the Gen3i .177 caliber recently. Going into it knowing that really the only major complaint about this rifle was the Gamo scope that came with the rifle. No turret/adjustment knobs. The other was no front sights. I am scope guy so, not a deal breaker. Some had no problem with the scope, and some did. I had issues with the scope shooting high. I had made some little shims to slide in between the front ring and the front of the scope. I started bringing down the shot pattern. I had intentions of replacing the scope when I bought it, so no big deal. Even when my shoots were high, they had a nice grouping at 30 yards. The break barrel does require I think about 40/45 pds of pressure to charge it. Overall, I am very pleased with rifle.
@@johndoee3850 For the rabbits I am using the Gamo Tomahawk 8.5gr, for the woodchucks, I am using the Gamo Red Fire 7.8gr. I use the Red Fire because the woodchucks are out further than the rabbits. No problem dropping either.
Hello Ben, In regards to those GAMO rifles, I heard that the rifles are not the problem; but rather, it has been the quality of the riflescopes that come with them. In fact, many new owners switch them out for higher quality ones; and once they do, they are perfectly pleased with the results of their shooting! ... That's of course if you exercise regularly! Because breaking the barrel on these rifles is not for any weaklings!
I weight around 57 kg and can shoot my gamo magnum all day long, it's not that hard. What's really hard is shooting a powerful springer precisely. I don't think, it's the scope, it's most likely the wrong technique. On the plus side, that hold sensitivity really points out bad habits. That's good for learning how to do it right. If you can shoot a springer accurately, your group will be pretty much one hole with a proper pcp.
Love the channel ! Thank you for making good videos that help to determine which rifles are worth the purchase. I got into air rifles because of your reviews and because I enjoyed watching the squirrel master competition.
Yesterday I was able to find a Gen2 Magnum in a stack of Gen3i Magnum’s. I grew up with open sights. I wasn’t happy to learn that GAMO got rid of the open sights on the Gen3i’s. I was able to pick it up for $249.99.
I find myself shooting at lots and lots of various ranges.. also I diesel my pellets regularly. WD-40 soak and then patroleum injected in the rear via a small syringe and wiped smooth with your thumb directly after loading the breech. Smacks hard and at 125 yards shooting at my pond, it decreases my pellets/bullet drop by two vertical feet or so consistently
I agree on your findings..Here in Australia..we can only buy the gamo magnums in gen 1...we never got the gen 2 much less gen 3..I have both in gen 1..they are fun and the 177 is more accurate and pellets are exactly half the price of 22 pellets. $15 a tin of 500 in 177 and $15 for a tin of 250 in 22.. I enjoy the challenge of shooting them compared to my 2 gamo gas ram models, the roadster gen 2 in 22 cal and the speedster gen 2 in 177. Both these gas ram models being significantly more accurate..probably because they are so much easier to shoot..no herky jerky recoil and much easier to cock..really great guns all of them, but all quite different...and the difference and the challenge that brings, is where the fun is at for me

Hello im a golf course superintendent have a major infestation of wood chucks I bought the gammo gen 3 swarm 10x magnum in .177 and put a BSA SCOPE ON IT looking to do head shots at 25/50 yards with the right pellet what are your thoughts
if you are referring to the “breaking of the barrel” The answer is yes. These rifles are called break barrels and the loading process involves cocking the barrel all the way down for each shot.
Interesting results! Some people say .177 is not an option and that .22cal airguns are far superior Both have pros and cons but if the smaller caliber got the energy you need the pellet curve might actually be easier to handle with this one than a bigger .22 pellet
You really don’t want a pellet to break the sound barrier. Accuracy can be destroyed when the pellet goes trans and then sub sonic. The 22cal will break the sound barrier, so any “speed advantages” the 177 can show are pretty worthless. If you are shooting pellet above sound barrier then you never want it to go subsonic. So a super sonic 177 would be limited to ranges where it can never drop below the sound barrier. Why would you ever want that! 22cal all day!
No It shouldn't ease up. Just grip it farther towards the tip of the barrel and you can use the inside of your thigh for leverage if you're tired of the freehand cock
Great review! I was on the fence on those two calibers. Same Gamo model though. Going .22!

I have the .22 cal swarm whisper and the most accurate pellet I've found is actually the Crossman premier hollow point 14.3 grain
I need a link for delivery in my country belize
Does the cocking effort ease up after a certain amount of shots? I have about 60 shots through mine (.177) at the moment.
No It shouldn't ease up. Just grip it farther towards the tip of the barrel and you can use the inside of your thigh for leverage if you're tired of the freehand cock
Great question!
I thought these boasted 1600+ fps for the .177 and 1300 avg fps for the .22. I was checking out gamo today
The material and weight of the projectile effects speed. The top speed advertised is of very light alloy pellets these are heavier
Send me a link to order one of them rifle
Less than 20 cents for the pellets. More than $2.00 for the melons if you bought them. 🙂Experience, priceless.
I shoot my gamo .177 at 50 yards and am more accurate than that. But great vid want to get a 22 now
