    Here's everything you need to know about buying nut milk and milk alternatives at the grocery store. This was a popular request, so I made sure to cover everything you could possibly make milk from! It basically comes down to this, when buying milk alternatives at the store, buy organic and unsweetened milks. Try to buy almond milk and other milks that don't have too many oils, gums, and emulsifiers in them(watch out for those barista blends). Almond milk should always be organic, they spray the ground around the trees like crazy. Pea milk and hemp milk are the highest in protein and great for toddlers. I will put more info down below...but what grocery items should I review next? Mad love Bobby...Dessi...Rose...and Art! XOXO
    Order our new keto cookbook: amzn.to/2TOHWJL
    Homemade almond milk recipe: www.flavcity.com/homemade-alm...
    Always buy nut milks and milk alternatives that are:
    -Unsweetened...Vanilla is good(unless you're cooking with it)
    -Organic is best and not much more expensive
    -Doesn't have too many emulsifiers, oils, and gums(avoid carrageenan)

    Please do a video on gums, emulsifiers, common fillers, suspect preservatives, etc. and their problematic effects and/or whether they are okay. In alphabetical order. So I can save it and refer to it often. I frequently use an on line "encyclopedia" of cosmetic ingredients at Paula's Choice because I buy some of their products and it is extremely helpful.

      Many people have sensitivity to Xanthan Gum. I found that I did by keeping a food journal. It really limits which brands of nut milk, gluten free bread and salad dressings I can eat! Canyon bakery uses Xanthan gum. Rudis does not (at least in their multigrain loaf)

    • @Forever_Laura
      @Forever_Laura 5 лет назад +45

      The food industry does this on purpose!! They know most people have no understanding of grams and the equivalence to standard measuring sizes. They also fight tooth and nail to keep the gram measuring protocol - they have the best lobbyists. Just remember that there are 4 grams in a teaspoon and 12 grams in a tablespoon - it still doesn't sound like much until you go dump 4 teaspoons of sugar out in front of you. Sugar is poison people, and it should be a crime what the food industry is allowed to get away with.

    • @tracypatterson4320
      @tracypatterson4320 5 лет назад +15

      Sunshine: when you shop, look at the labels and aim for items that are 4% or less in sugar per serving. I used to think the same thing as you then a nutritionist told me to keep it under 4 and I've lost 12 lbs just by doing that.

    • @jennyxgirl3

      You will be fine drinking soy milk. The estrogen in soy is so low it’s not going to harm you. The only time you should eliminate food from your diet is if a doctor tells you.

    • @heyitslo
      @heyitslo 4 года назад +8

      While i don’t personally eat soy, it’s actually fine. The phytoestrogens in soy actually block up your estrogen receptors in a good way because they prevent animal hormones from getting in. Refined soy isn’t great, but look at some of the longest living civilizations like the Okinawans- soy every day 👍🏼

    Bobby, on the subject of cow vs goat dairy. I just spent the last 6 months on an anti-inflammatory diet which avoided all dairy, most grains, nightshades and sugars. This in an effort to solve reflux, hiatal hernia and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). I’ve gone from heartburn and acid reflux every meal to maybe once or twice a month. I’ve started bringing some grains, nightshades and dairy back into my diet. It seems cow dairy with processed wheat are huge triggers. I’ve since switched to goat cheese and have found zero issues. I also can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on with goat cheese.
    On a side note, my one year old son was having constant constipation and we figured it may be related to the whole milk we give him. We switched him to the A2 milk and within 3 days the stools were normal. We are now about 10 days in and everything seems to be better.
    I can’t help but wonder if this is all related to the A1casin protein. I look forward to a cow vs goat dairy episode.

    Thanks so much Bobby for this video! Very eye opening & informative....esp the info about the added pesticide exposure in almonds! I have used the unsweetened oat milk by Quaker. However, I’m now rethinking this choice as I’m sure it’s loaded with pesticides also. Thanks again.....

  • @rebekah4300
    @rebekah4300 4 года назад +4

    Something to consider: there isn't a lot of nutritional difference between organic and non-organic. The process it undergo's after it is harvested means that nearly all the pesticides etc. are washed out.

    • @la6136
      @la6136 2 года назад

      There are many fruits and vegetables like apples for example where the pesticides actually seep inside of it past the skin which does not get washed off no matter what you do.

    My favorite home made nut milk is cashew since it’s soak and blend, no peeling, no straining. And easy to make small amounts at a time and not worry about it going bad before you drink it all.

    I guess because this video is two years old maybe? I give Ripple to my twins because I don't like dairy and when they were younger (still in diapers) they would break out in a rash. Ripple was the healthy alternative. It WAS Bobby approved but sadly now it's not? I'm so mad that I went by this video instead of scanning the back. I scanned the Ripple today (March 2022) after my husband got back from the store and the app said it was not approved, it had many horrendous ingredients in it. It sucks because we just wasted so much money when we could have spent the money on something better. Please do an updated milk video😊 Thank you so much for these videos, you have changed my life. I have recommended the Bobby app to my family.

If you are comparing to the other milks, sure, you are right. Appreciate you pointing out the milks for toddlers though! I've been figuring that out for ages!

    I just found your channel and it’s amazing, thank you!!! These grocery store videos are invaluable. I wish more grocery stores allowed you to film, so sad. What are your thoughts on Flaxmilk Unsweetened with Pea Protein? I love it in my coffee but it has natural Flavors😔although it’s 0 carbs, 0 sugars and 8 grams of protein. Trying to decide if I should change it up because of the Natural Flavors with it.

      @@crdeyalsingh I agree. It seems to me like he just googles and makes a video in the grocery store. It seems obvious to me that he doesn't do much "research" other than reading labels and probably some online info which is what we could do ourselves. I don't have a problem with him doing this, but it's sad that people don't have their own common sense to see this for what it is.
