Here's everything you need to know about buying nut milk and milk alternatives at the grocery store. This was a popular request, so I made sure to cover everything you could possibly make milk from! It basically comes down to this, when buying milk alternatives at the store, buy organic and unsweetened milks. Try to buy almond milk and other milks that don't have too many oils, gums, and emulsifiers in them(watch out for those barista blends). Almond milk should always be organic, they spray the ground around the trees like crazy. Pea milk and hemp milk are the highest in protein and great for toddlers. I will put more info down below...but what grocery items should I review next? Mad love Bobby...Dessi...Rose...and Art! XOXO

Always buy nut milks and milk alternatives that are:
-Unsweetened...Vanilla is good(unless you're cooking with it)
-Organic is best and not much more expensive
-Doesn't have too many emulsifiers, oils, and gums(avoid carrageenan)

Who loves this channel like I do.. Thank you for all the work you do giving us healthy alternatives and delicious food ideas
It's great! I don't Keto diet at all, but I love their cooking and shopping tips. Plus the recipes just taste amazing!
@@johnsmithjr.9321 I dont do keto either but I've changed my eating habits and I'm more conscious about what I put in my body.
Another non Keto human lol that loves this channel. The guy was made for this!
@@taraschmidheini5104 He's so informative
You have no idea! I just found this channel. I live in rural Georgia after moving from a big city.... Being able to find these things means I have to drive to Jacksonville FL.
Literary me at the grocery store I get so frustrated I’d rather not eat anything wish they would just make everything healthy
Great job , I started watching your channel couple weeks ago and I love it , I used to do bodybuilding and I had to read and investigate every product before I buy anything and you doing this research but in a deeper level educating everyone with names of the chemicals and what they are , keep up the excellent job and God bless you , your family
and your baby .
Please do a video on gums, emulsifiers, common fillers, suspect preservatives, etc. and their problematic effects and/or whether they are okay. In alphabetical order. So I can save it and refer to it often. I frequently use an on line "encyclopedia" of cosmetic ingredients at Paula's Choice because I buy some of their products and it is extremely helpful.
Many people have sensitivity to Xanthan Gum. I found that I did by keeping a food journal. It really limits which brands of nut milk, gluten free bread and salad dressings I can eat! Canyon bakery uses Xanthan gum. Rudis does not (at least in their multigrain loaf)
fake replacements are usually worse than the original. Margarine muuuuuch worse than butter. Saccharine and Sucralose worse than Sugar. etc. If you read an ingredient and you need an encyclopedia or a chemical engineering degree to understand it...beware
Dipotasium Phosphate is not good for you. It's used in antifreeze!!
I'd love this one!
Oh yes, my 13 year old son started watching! What a great example for him, thank you Bobby!!
Smart boy.
Thank you so much for being so detailed and breaking down ingredients and nutrition factions!! Awesome video!
Congrats on beautiful baby! Thank you for this channel, it gives me inspiration on my healthy living/ weight loss journey😊
Loving these what to buy series you’ve been Focusing on lately.
I want to thank you for all this information. I've learned so much in this video. I've been switching from regular milk to plant-based milk. Thumbs up!
I know it's not the best nutrition wise, but Oatly Oat Milk is DELICIOUS
The taste pf the milk does not matter if you are making a smoothie.
Couldn't agree more - best tasting alternative I've found by far. Overall I think it's a decent option nutrition wise, especially when consumed in moderation
Thanks for keeping it real and I can follow what you are saying. Thanks to you I have been making changes to my eating and buying habits.
Homemade salad dressings and easy lunches for work. Great video!
Firstly, congratulations on your new baby! Secondly, Thank you for this review, specifically the list of "ok" ingredients. I am in Canada and the Cashew milk that I use is made here and not part of your review. So I grabbed my container to compare with the list you spoke about and showed on screen. Very very helpful! Thank you again.
Right on, thanks so much!!
Thanks for the video. In my own research I've come to find Oatly is one of the best brands in terms of taste and quality of ingredients. I appreciate that you included they use non-gmo oil and glyphosate free oats.
You are the absolute best.. you’re teaching me so much information.. informed information ..not misinformation and I thank you for providing me with information that helps save my life every day by what I eat ..plus I have celiac disease so thank you for helping me .you’re not only helping yourself but you’re helping other people w/ the information provided
Lmao I'm so embarrassed. When I see 16g sugar, I think "oh that's low sugar" ughhh...guess that shows how much sugar is "acceptable" in the eyes of a consumer
sunshinendaisies same lol 😆
That’s why I talk about it, people just don’t realize how much sugar is in our food!
The food industry does this on purpose!! They know most people have no understanding of grams and the equivalence to standard measuring sizes. They also fight tooth and nail to keep the gram measuring protocol - they have the best lobbyists. Just remember that there are 4 grams in a teaspoon and 12 grams in a tablespoon - it still doesn't sound like much until you go dump 4 teaspoons of sugar out in front of you. Sugar is poison people, and it should be a crime what the food industry is allowed to get away with.
Sunshine: when you shop, look at the labels and aim for items that are 4% or less in sugar per serving. I used to think the same thing as you then a nutritionist told me to keep it under 4 and I've lost 12 lbs just by doing that.
I mean 4 grams not percent.
This was one that I had requested! Thanks! Love you guys!
Soy Milk! What!!! I am stunned here.
I started searching for this immediately. Most websites are saying, not to worry.
I love the taste of Soy Milk over others, which is why I use it for my daily morning coffee.
Could you please do another video with possibly more research just for Soy Milk. I feel I am deep in the water now.
You will be fine drinking soy milk. The estrogen in soy is so low it’s not going to harm you. The only time you should eliminate food from your diet is if a doctor tells you.
While i don’t personally eat soy, it’s actually fine. The phytoestrogens in soy actually block up your estrogen receptors in a good way because they prevent animal hormones from getting in. Refined soy isn’t great, but look at some of the longest living civilizations like the Okinawans- soy every day 👍🏼
I'll stipulate to all this, but soy plugs me. 'S why I went over to almond, and never looked back.

Agreed! :)
Absolutely I myself was looking at these milk alternatives the other day and wasnt sure what is good and what is not. Figured it would be good to try plant based alternative to cow's milk. But ended up buying a coconut milk since I thought it would be tasty. I got the unsweetened one I think.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I'd love to see a video covering protein powders. 😊😊
Bobby, on the subject of cow vs goat dairy. I just spent the last 6 months on an anti-inflammatory diet which avoided all dairy, most grains, nightshades and sugars. This in an effort to solve reflux, hiatal hernia and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). I’ve gone from heartburn and acid reflux every meal to maybe once or twice a month. I’ve started bringing some grains, nightshades and dairy back into my diet. It seems cow dairy with processed wheat are huge triggers. I’ve since switched to goat cheese and have found zero issues. I also can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on with goat cheese.
On a side note, my one year old son was having constant constipation and we figured it may be related to the whole milk we give him. We switched him to the A2 milk and within 3 days the stools were normal. We are now about 10 days in and everything seems to be better.
I can’t help but wonder if this is all related to the A1casin protein. I look forward to a cow vs goat dairy episode.
Excellent! Thanks for doing the research! Keto gal here! You’ve almost convinced me to try to make my own almond milk! 🤔
Thanks for sharing I'm taking more serious what i put in my plate ,happy for your baby girl and thanks give us childrens milk alternatives.

This is SO helpful. Thank you so much for making this video!
I add 2 tablespoons of organic fair trade cocoa powder (trader joes) to Malk cashew milk, into a shaker bottle and it makes great sugar free chocolate milk.
same
Have to try that
Minding my own Business : add some drops of stevia to sweeten it.
try adding 1/4 a tbsp of salt it makes the chocolate milk so good
FYI, Oatly does have “non-GMO” on their packaging. It was even shown on your video.
Btw... thx so much for these great videos. Your service to the community is outstanding 👍🏼
I noticed that too! Like right after he says that it doesn’t say non gmo, he does a close up on the ingredients and it’s right there 😂
I know I'm a couple of months behind seeing this video, but I had to write & say CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your daughter! She's so beautiful ❤
This is one of your best videos yet, I'm going to have to watch it again
I'm so happy for your content. Keep it coming.
I made home made almond milk once and it came out so good! It was actually very similar to the Khafia brand almond milk in terms of texture.
it is very delicious I make it all the time for my baby and now my blender shut down 🥹
Congratulations on your beautiful new baby. Thank you for your great work helping me with products that are bad !
First time seeing this channel, and found all this info about non dairy milks very helpful, just what I needed. There's so much choice now, which is great after so few plant based options in the past, but it can be confusing to know which is best.
This indepth comparison is jus what I was hoping to find - thanks. Look forward to checking out more videos.
Bobby, as a certified Nutritionist, I love the work you do. But the two milks you recommend, Ripple and Forager both have natural flavors. Ripple even has GMO Sunflower oil. Just wanted to let you know!
Can you do a plant protein powder one which one is best. Please
Greens first !
Thank you for letting us know what all of those added ingredients are! I was curious if those were good or bad!
This really helped me a lot. Thanks as always for doing all the research and saving me time!! :)
Great video! Question: On the protein power video, heavy metals were a concern for pea protein. Are they a concern for pea milk? Thanks!
I couldn’t find the answer but I guess not
How about a coffee video, store brands vs Folgers vs the fancy brands.
And which ones are lowest in acid! Pls
Bobby is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! You rock Bobby!☝️
Man I like all your reviews on product and I started to change my shopping way as to your advices.. You inspire me!

Love your videos, Bobby! As someone who has Celiac, I would LOVE to see you do a Gluten Free haul!!
RebelBelle13 look for milk with A2 .. or do a research on google
Thanks again for another great video! Loved the explanation of additives. I don’t have a Trader Joe’s near me, but the best canned coconut milk I’ve found is Kroger’s simple truth organic brand. It does have organic guar gum, but that’s the only other ingredient besides coconut and water.
Hey Bobby, congrats on you sweet bundle of joy! Do you hv a video explaining keto diets
I would love for you to review different mineral waters and carbonated waters, flavored and unflavored. Absotively appreciated. HUGS and blessings 🏞🌌
Caliafarms is organic but you have to get the homestyle version I love that one. ❤
I loved this video! Thank you for covering the plant-based options!
I don't know how I didn't find you sooner! Diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease last year and I had to completely change my diet. More and more autoimmune diseases are being linked to chemicals and food.
Congratulations again on baby Rose! :o) I hope the ladies in your family are doing well. :o) I appreciate the information on all of the different milk varieties...there are so many!
Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter Rose. I Love her middle name, my daughters middle name is Honey also. 💞
The other day I stood in front of that aisle for 20 minutes trying to find an alternative for coffee and tea. One that DOESN’T split the moment it hits a hot beverage. I ended up with cashew milk we shall see how that goes but I would of liked to have known what’s the best for hot beverages. Love your videos!

Hi , Can you do a review on different energy drinks available in the store like bang, monster and other brands especially the zero calorie drinks . Thank you
Almond Breeze just came out with an Unsweetened Almond Chocolate Milk, you should check it out! 40cal a serving with less than 1gm of natural sugar!
Hey thanks for the info!!!!////
Didn’t know that!!!
We tried it and didn't like it. Better just to add your own cocoa and stevia
It's great because you can add stevia or monk fruit to sweeten to your taste or drink it as is. I also use it in my coffee.
Too many additives for my liking
For my coffee I use “Sown Organic Oat Creamer” unsweetened . It has zero sugar which seems always hard to find as well as 2g of carbs . I have tried many different brands and this one is my favorite . It always seems to be out of stock though which sucks . The only place that I can find it is usually Whole Foods or Amazon.
Nobody does it better than Bobby!
Keep it up, you’re killing it!
What's the best coconut milk ? Thank you.
Great video as usual
Can you do a video on buying fish especially salmon
Thanks
Thank you so much for these videos. They have helped me shop for healthier alternatives that my family will still eat :)
Thanks so much Bobby for this video! Very eye opening & informative....esp the info about the added pesticide exposure in almonds! I have used the unsweetened oat milk by Quaker. However, I’m now rethinking this choice as I’m sure it’s loaded with pesticides also. Thanks again.....
Something to consider: there isn't a lot of nutritional difference between organic and non-organic. The process it undergo's after it is harvested means that nearly all the pesticides etc. are washed out.
There are many fruits and vegetables like apples for example where the pesticides actually seep inside of it past the skin which does not get washed off no matter what you do.
My favorite home made nut milk is cashew since it’s soak and blend, no peeling, no straining. And easy to make small amounts at a time and not worry about it going bad before you drink it all.
I watch the TJ videos while shopping at TJ. Info is great!! Thanks Bobby!
Just found you and am OBSESSED with your videos! Such great info! What’s your thoughts on macadamia nut milk??
Bobby LOVE videos! Here’s a challenge how bout “ sweets” video? Trader Joe’s dark chocolate items as well as Costco has a few and the stevia based items..... Some of house need our chocolate fix 😬🤦♀️
Great vid Bobby, but u didn't mention Westsoy. No garbage in it, just filtered water and soybeans. Unsweetened of course.
Thank you for your videos and congratulations 🍾🎈🎉🎊 to you and family!

Real Coco organic coconut milk best keto milk and can get it for $10 a case at Costco! Tastes so good 😊
I guess because this video is two years old maybe? I give Ripple to my twins because I don't like dairy and when they were younger (still in diapers) they would break out in a rash. Ripple was the healthy alternative. It WAS Bobby approved but sadly now it's not? I'm so mad that I went by this video instead of scanning the back. I scanned the Ripple today (March 2022) after my husband got back from the store and the app said it was not approved, it had many horrendous ingredients in it. It sucks because we just wasted so much money when we could have spent the money on something better. Please do an updated milk video😊 Thank you so much for these videos, you have changed my life. I have recommended the Bobby app to my family.
I just came across your channel I freaking love you. It is so simple so easy to follow thank you thank you thank you. love most of this video, people below are right about the inaccuracy on Soy. Also, yes, Almond takes a lot of water but it is no where near as bad for environment as cow's milk. If you are comparing to the other milks, sure, you are right. Appreciate you pointing out the milks for toddlers though! I've been figuring that out for ages!

@@crdeyalsingh I agree. It seems to me like he just googles and makes a video in the grocery store. It seems obvious to me that he doesn't do much "research" other than reading labels and probably some online info which is what we could do ourselves.
