    Just loved watching this, the moments 15:18 feel like home and 15:25 putting guitars where they live and 16:00 the cozy feeling of being at grandparents house, I could relate to those well. Thanks.🥰😍

    Thanks for taking us through the process! The guide is clearly laid out and addresses the common issues that many of us face when setting up a home studio. I'd love to know more about the approximate cost of this setup, including the speakers, calibration gear, and sound treatment. It would be super helpful for those of us saving up for a new studio!

      Hi there! The largest costs in the video are the speakers, subwoofer, and the Konto acoustic panels. Unfortunately, we can't provide specific pricing here, as costs can vary greatly depending on the room size and specific requirements. However, to get a general idea of the expenses, we recommend visiting Genelec dealer webshops for speaker and subwoofer pricing, as well as Konto or other acoustic panel manufacturers for information on acoustic treatments.

    Thank you! It would be nice if you could consider making a video on room treatment for home studios without using SAM speakers. I have a pair of 8030s (without SAM) and intend to add a subwoofer soon. I treat my home studio with acoustic foam and base traps, but not in a very scientific way, using guidelines that I find on the internet.
    Your Genelec video on speaker placement and usage of dip switches is also very good. Many thanks!

      Thank you for the suggestion! Measuring the frequency response of the system will help you on that a lot. Perhaps you are already referring to this video, but this can also be helpful to measure in example with Room EQ Wizard (REW):

      @@genelecThank you very much! I was not aware of EQ Wizard. I learn about it and try using it. I take the opportunity to wish you a great holiday season!

    Could you please tell us why you didn't install diffusers and bass traps?

    • @genelec
      @genelec  2 месяца назад +2

      The purpose of this video was to give a fairly general overview of how room acoustics could be done. Absorption is the most efficient and easiest way to treat the acoustics of the room. Diffusers are useful (when combined with absorption) in larger rooms where the reflecting surfaces are further away from the listener.
      Bass traps would most likely have helped in this case to bring down the reverberation time at 100-200Hz region but are physically quite large and sometimes hard to fit in without custom building work. Bass resonators would also be good at specific problem frequencies but require custom structures and a fair amount of knowledge to implement.
      Our SAM series loudspeakers offer a robust solution to drastically improve the low frequency performance at the listening location through calibration of each loudspeaker and attenuating the energy of the loudspeakers at the mode frequencies.

    Nice video! What did you use for making the acoustic panels?

    • @genelec
      @genelec  2 месяца назад +1

      In this project we used acoustic panels made from peat fiber made by Konto. Similar can be done with other type of panels but Konto panels give nice appearance with minimal effort.
