I downloaded the forge installer and followed what you did but when I tried to open it I see notepad, ms word, and windows media player library.. I'm doing this on windows 11 btw, I dont know what to do, please help!

I’m just confused on the part where you didn’t make it to Pacific on how you got to that white screen with that chest and select which point you’re at the downloading for power was a little bit hard I haven’t tried it yet so I hope it’s easier

I need help. I got the mod installed but no dragons or any mobs from the mod is spawning. The mod is in the game i can use the spawn eggs but none of them spawn on their own.

Hey for me it says when I open the file and press the client thing it says failed to download version?
When i try to run the file to install Forge, i get the popup asking what i want to open it with. options are Notepad, Word, Wordpad, Media Player.
The filename that downloaded is:
"D:\Downloads\forge-1.21.1-52.0.9-installer.jar"
can't run it
you need Java on your pc

well the issue is that you are meant to download the installer and not the jar file and thats why you're getting this problem@@Zelix21245

Hi there, my iPad is not enjoying the .jar files that have been downloaded when following your guide to install the forge installer and then the ice and fire mod. Any top tips to sort this issue? Thanks

Followed the steps but it still shows the regular Minecraft Home Screen, what did I do wrong?
Didn’t launch the forge version probably
in the bottom left corner there will be a button to show which version of minecraft you are launching, make sure to click on the arrow and click on forge
how do you NOT download as a JAR?? I can not get the forge download to open-- you have a lot of the same comments saying this... when it downloads its asking us WHAT do we open it with like notepad, windows player? do you have an extra enstion already downloaded to prevent this? BC it will download like a JAR there is no way to prevent this,
Nope no extra extensions, on the forge website I just clicked download installer that’s it

Try downloading Java then opening it with java
When i do it and wehn i open it you did this part at 0:34 and it says there was errors and that the commands arnt valid
Make sure you download the right version and make sure you downloaded the forge installer

quick question. Do you need to have java downloaded? as i clicked on the tab saying that my version was finished downloading and had brought me to a page asking if in what i wanted to open it in. (windows 10 btw)
Yes you need java in order to open forge

if you have minecraft java on your Ipad then yes. But the procees will most likely be more difficult
i got it to work but my game crashed when i tried to load into the world

yes, this is happening to me to it gives me "error code 1" I will update you if I find a way to fix it

Here's a video explaining how to download forge and Java! The forge installation (the .jar file) kept taking me straight to the launcher and wasn't showing up in installations. This linked video lays it out perfectly, and after getting Java and Jarfix everything worked!
