- I threw down a tier list with my Korean friend Gong PD. We did a mix of both Western and Korean foods and had a battle of wits to see how we ranked them. Hope you guys enjoy this video, we had a lot of fun making it..and also clashed quite a bit, haha. Throw your own tier lists of today's foods in the comments! To be fair, the pizza they sell in Korea is nothing like pizza actually. And he said spaghetti is greasy, I've never had greasy spaghetti.

As a korean,Many Koreans love pizza and spaghetti and especially Korean style pizza is very popular in Korea. Spaghetti is also a popular menu with many delicious restaurants.You don't have to be offended because it's just these two men's opinion.

omer sahban Im not Italian but this rating needs a European opinion and a West-Asian opinion to it hahahahah how can pizza be down-rated, pizza is better than Ramen and Spaghetti, for me Ramen and Spaghetti are the same it’s greasy noodle (even though I like them hahahha) greasy stuff like noodle dishes and burger and sandwich should be all together on the same level hahahha

That's because so many people do it wrong. If you start adding sour cream where it doesn't belong, of course it will become greasy. I've seen people do that to Spaghetti Carbonara for example, which is just sad.

It’s because he used a Korean adjective that is very hard to translate into English and the clos st adjective would be greasy, that korean adjective just doesn’t exist in English

You don’t even have to be Italian to be disappointed that these two amazing foods got wrongfully placed in category D. I would say that burgers and fried chicken are the most greasy foods on the list! And sandwiches also got placed too low. This list was madness! Madness!

S-Bibibap, S-Ramyun, A-Burrito, B-Sandwich, B-Tteokbokki, B-Pizza*, B-Chicken, C-Steak, D-Burger, D-Spaghetti. The rest Ive never tried but i know blood sausage porridge and raw octopus is F tier. *Any pizza I get is thin crust with little cheese and ingredients like spinach tomatoes and onion so it isnt greasy.

Man, Dave, you should try pizza in Sweden. It's amazing and probably so different from what you're used to in the US and Korea. It's literally a part of Swedish food culture these days. Not every small town has a supermarket, but every single one has one or more pizza parlors. Google "swedish kebabpizza", that's the stuff my man! I could eat that every weekend and not get tired of it I'm pretty sure. It's the Swedish hangover food.
I kinda get you on Spaghetti though. Used to love that stuff but as I've gotten older the appeal has decreased quite dramatically.

I really love how pizza was a favourite food of yours a few years ago and now you don't care for it anymore. I feel the same way about pizza and spaghetti. Used to be my favourite food, now I eat it very very rarely.

Only problem I have with Korean food is all the e numbers. I never grew up eating additives so my stomach can't take it. But all the traditional home cooked Korean food is like s tier. Can't wait to go back to Korea for the food

pasta is the ultimate comfort food for me and it tastes good with any kind of sauce 🤤 avocado pasta is one of my faves tho and any kind of creamy sauce is delicious too!

Tbf, they talk about pizza and spaghetti being sold together, and the spaghetti they sell with pizza in Korea really is D tier xD It's like those cheap $1 ready-made pastas you buy from the refrigerated section, just blander.

i agree with dave on the burger vs ramyun rank lol. I am american and it has nothing to do with the vote lol. but I guess it depends how you compare the burger to ramyun. like mcd vs ramyun(ramyum would win but I love mcd) or a burger joint vs premium ramyun(shin ramyun black is overrated but a fresh grounded beef patty cannot lose with all those other goodies like homemade ketchup, grilled onions, etc etc unless you toss in that spam, egg, kimchi and cheese in your ramyum then we got a contest !! satisfaction and comfort never lies~ and wrap bibimbap into a burrito for gongpd

When I was studying in Korea, there was a place called Dos Mas that only sold burritos and people were in love with it. He needs to go there or Taco Bell and try one.
Then they will think all burritos are like Taco Bell burritos and that would be a shame

Hmm, to be more fair and accurate, I think they should have had at least 2 different lists. One about where the food would fall under typical American tastes and the other list should be for typical Korean tastes. They should have also do their best to think from a standard taste profile versus their own personal preferences. And maybe at the end they could have made a third list that averaged their choices or placed the items by their own personal preferences.
Hey Dave, could you maybe do another pronounciation video? Maybe this time with the topic how you would pronounce different names in your guys native language?
As an example, my Name is André Schmidt and i found it really interesting that my name is pronounced 안드레 슈미트 in korean ^^

Tbh, I fell like dave needs to spend some more time or summers in the US. I love his content, but maybe he should travel a little more just to have more input^_^. Maybe he should have little travel adventures and visit the places his friends are from but he does need to visit the US for a longer period just to have a refresh of american/us cultures.

I am always astonished by the difference in thoughts on food from one country to another- or even from region to region!
Though, I think it's hard to rate "sandwich" or "burger" or "pizza" or "burrito" just because of how many different ways you can make each, and with really different ingredients.
Gong PD is your neighbor direct selling. He encourage you to buy his product and you end up buying it with regret after a minute.
Soondae/Blood Pudding is delicious. We do have a Filipino counterpart to that dish.
Sanakkji is also delicious too.
You know what? Every Korean good is delicious, but American foods are also delicious too.

All kinds of noodles don't rank high for me as long as they're soup. The reason is because my stomach can't be filled with lots of liquid. Otherwise it causes me to vomit, as my stomach starts to rock its contents around like it's some kind of boat.
Other low ranking foods for me, are ones that contain meat/eggs that weren't cooked 100% through. Ever since my appendix was removed, due to an inflammation, I suffer food poisoning whenever I consume them slightly raw. I even started to cook them borderline burned, just to be safe.

With sandwiches and pizzas they tend to vary. A plain old margarita pizza is kind of bland and D rank for sure but then you got Domino's, their meat feast pizza is to die for. Same with sandwiches, a terrible filling like hummus is revolting. My local newsagent sometimes does pulled pork sandwiches and they are awesome.
