- TNS - Formerly Total Network Solutions, yes a football team with a sponsored name, now known as The New Saints are a joint Welsh & English Football Club who play in the Welsh Premier League 🏴 BUT their "Park Hall Stadium" is in England 🏴 TNS have such an unusual history. The club in its current incarnation is a result of a merger between Llansantffraid FC (Wales) and Oswestry Town (England) in 2003. With that said, Llsantffraid FC had already become Total Network Solutions FC before the merger, but after BT acquired the electrical company, the football club had to look for a new name... 🤔 At one point they even looked into selling the naming rights of the club on EBAY 😬 So much to unpack in this video... Thought I'd try something new on the channel! Let us know your thoughts on this unorthodox Welsh (and English) GIANT of the Cymru Premier 🏆

Compelling, as well as interesting. But very much watchable.
I like their philosophy which begs the question why don't all the Welsh clubs playing in England opt to be in their own league for the opportunity to play European football, interesting this one cheers pal
Well thats the question isn’t it? They’d rather play in the English system because whether they qualify for Europe or not, they’d get more or as much for finishing where they do in the leagues they are currently in. They’d rather abandon their own nation and Principles for a bit more dosh.
@@WalesTheTrueBritonsThey have played in England since their formation, and The Football League was never meant to be for English clubs only. There wasn't a Welsh League until 1992, and the lack of clubs who would have any chance against even the reserve teams of Cardiff, Swansea etc, meant those clubs joining would have made the league a farce. As it is. The New Saints are bankrolled, and their total dominance as a result has ruined any chance the league had for growth.
They were invited into our league and chose not to join, what would you call that? I would call it traitorous.
@@WalesTheTrueBritons Or ambitious. Why would a pro club want to abandon the league they'd been in for 70 years for a part-time league? Cardiff's chairman did actually raise the idea, and the fans were horrified.
Welsh teams in the english league are not traitor , They been playing in English league long before Welsh Premier league was a thing . We should be proud of all welsh clubs what ever league their playing in , I wound love to see cymru premier grown attracted more fans and create something special in Wales. It's down to the league as whole and Faw to come up with clever ideas to make it more appealing.
You never mentioned TNS playing in the Scottish challenge cup this year (and making the final), possibly making them the most British club imaginable..🤣
My bad! Haha definitely need a Union Jack in that badge 🇬🇧
Ino! The Union Jack represents England and Scotland and as far as I know the Britons never founded England or Scotland, only Wales.
Good to see that quality shirt love wearing mine
Great shirt isn’t it 😅 there’s an older version with a collar
@@RysFootyParadise Oh mines got the collar with Trotter 81 on the back
Rumours are that they and Merthyr Town will be swapping international leagues for 2025/26.
You should come to Porthmadog Football Club 🔥
Their the only full time team in that league ⚽️
After 30 years only one full time team , All teams in cymru premier league should be full time , The league has a long way to go
TNS wil always be total network solutions to me even tho The New Saints is a better name
The only professional team in Cymru Premier, the y is pronounced as er as it is in the syllable and u is pronounced as in e sound.
I hope Penybont another merger of Bridgend Town, who played in the Southern Premier league, as my dad was in that squad 1969/70 they won it and Bryntirion who were in the lower tiers of Welsh football and came up to Welsh division 1 as it known then and always like playing against Bridgend Town, the little brother finding a way to beat the big brother.
Coychurch Road was sold to Asda, I love going to watch Bridgend Town play especially as you only needed to pay a pound to get in and I could walk there.
Jimmy Greaves when he played at Barnet played at the ground.
Bryntirion won the Welsh league division 1 in 2010/11 but denied entry to Welsh Premier league as they didn't meet criteria.
FAW are looking to improve things, we have a mix MLS were a team might be relegated as 1st and 2nd in Cymru North and South might not have a FAW tier 1 license to play in the Cymru Premier and Premier league were you might get relegated, if you finish in the bottom 2 or your ground doesn't reach FAW tier 1 as Haverfordwest nearly discovered due to not having enough undercover seats, but this was due to the club fixing them.
It would be nice for FAW to relax the rules, when i was younger, i use to live in a small hamlet/village called Taffs Well, just miles away from Cardiff, Taffs Well isnt heavily, 3672 census in 2011 populated, one thing Football clubs is one under 10s side and a minimum of 4 age group 10 to 21.
Hey, Ty, in welsh LL is pronounced “Kla” !
No it isn’t, that a common English mistake. Put your tongue to the top of your mouth and breath out while pronouncing it, that’s the noise it makes.
I’ve got Welsh blood in me - grandad - nothing but respect for the Welsh language but some words are so difficult to pronounce 😅
They played Liverpool in the CL
CL Qualifier..big difference tbf
To pronounce Ll which is not a double l, place your tongue behind your front teeth, and move your tounge back to the gum line blow, ai in Welsh you say as an eye sound
Most universally hated football club in Wales.
Theyd never leave the Welsh league as they would go bust within a few seasons as they wouldn't get the European money.
Being the only professional team that receives hundreds of thousands from Uefa qualifying is not an achievement.
Kim-roo? It’s pronounced Coom-ree.
Its not England, its stolen Wales. Dewch ylmlaen Glendwyr
