The all new Chroma VND/PL Matte Box has arrived. A redesigned 3-6 Stop VND/PL Filter reduces shutter speeds to cinematic levels and reduces glare with its powerful polarizer. The polarizer is independently tunable for you to control whether you want reflections or not. In addition the VND/PL base we have the new Stage 2 Black Mist and Gold Mist filters for smooth highlight roll-off.

Wow guys, that's really cool! I think I will buy myself a kit.
I have a question, how the "transformers" are called? If I want to install the kit from the video on a 72mm lens / 62mm lens.

They are called step up rings.

If the polarizing effect can be completely turned off in this new model, I don't understand why we still need the previous standard model. What disadvantage does the polarized model have compared to the standard one? Also, do the Recon's polarized hard stops exist in the standard PLVND 2-5 and 6-9 as well? Or do they rotate indefinitely and require two hands due to the lack of a locking system? Sorry if I asked too many questions 😅, by the way, they look amazing. 🤘

I don’t use the old version anymore :)
No disadvantages in my opinion, cleaner color and tunable polarization are good in my book.
The threaded and helix polarizer vnds all have hard stops too. You really need them to lock your stop value while you turn the polarizer. You still kinda need two hands to set the ND level. The polarizer can be operated one handed.

Quick question: can the matte box hold also regular 4 x 5.65 nd filter?

Not sure this is the right product for me. VND usually means variable quality too and I just haven't found a VND (especially with a polarizer combo) that doesn't really wreck the image.
