Another #SMB #piano #composition, this one's about the best time of the year in sunny #Australia. It's July as we write this, and the weather is just perfect. Time to go for a run.

In the subtropical climate of South East Queensland, Australia, winter is a beautiful time. Standing in the sunshine, you can feel the caress of the cool breeze and listen to the birds sing. It's blue skies every day and a special experience to have.
Having grown up here, I've never realised how lucky I was until I travelled further afield. Coming home, I can appreciate the beauty of my home again and how much I love living here.
This piece is inspired by the sound of the wind through the trees on a sunny winter's day, and the feeling of just being there in my backyard in this wonderful place.

Winter here in subtropical Queensland is quite temperate and very comfortable! You can stand outside in the breeze on a sunny day and it feels wonderful, listening to wind rustling through the trees and hearing the birds sing. It's blue skies and an amazing feeling. That's what I wanted to convey with this original piece! Please enjoy! :)

In subtropical Queensland, as this song was released, it was pouring rain. Still doesn't make it a bad song though, and I feel that more generally, this song still reflects the mood of a nice winter's day here. Great song.

I have always failed to hear the winter in Vivaldi's "Winter". This, however... This gives me the feeling of cosy homes, white landscapes and a calm peace that comes at the nicest of winter's days. Absolutely masterful.
I can see that, although the only white landscapes you'll find in a Queensland winter are the white sand beaches.
Can't wait for Summer in Queensland where the keys melt off mid performance. In all seriousness this is a beautiful piece and (to me) it really does convey the feeling of seeing early morning frost that you could almost mistake for snow, and watching it slowly recede as the sun rises.
Forgot you guys are Aussie! I was like "what do you mean, winter? it's the middle of August and it's a darn heat"!
Since Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, their seasons are opposite ours.

Beautiful music! Even if it's summer for most of the world; it just gives people time to find this.
Funny enough, this doesn't read as "winter" to me but instead a gentle breeze of raw unfettered natural beauty, like walking through a golden sunlit forest while autumn leaves are flitting down all around you. The ambience is off the charts!
Well, Winter here is pretty temperate! It's a really nice feeling. Not really very "cold". You can walk outside and it feels amazing. So that's what I wanted to put into this :)

Have you guys ever heard the work of Sally Greenaway? She's an Australian composer that makes some really amazing stuff that's thematically tied to our great continent, but is also nice. This feels vaguely reminiscent in some respects. Love your work, and love your original pieces.
This is an incredibly beautiful and calming piece. I think I might incorporate it into a night time routine; I have trouble sleeping and falling asleep, this is the perfect length to stretch in bed to.
I have always adored the rain and this really does encapsulate a lovely downpour. I live in Perth but was lucky enough to spend the winter of 2020 on a mountain in Queensland. The 5 year plan is to move to Albany with my partner because we both love the rain (and he conveniently has family down there) xxx
This is delightful! It's hot here in the Northern hemisphere, at least where I am. Luckily winter isn't super harsh here either. I'd love to experience winter in Australia someday!
