- The Mojave has no shortage when it comes to graves, and more often than not those graves serve as nothing more than simple landmarks and containers to be looted. But once in a blue moon you’ll discover a grave that has more meaning to it, a history if you will, and I can think of no grave with more history than the one belonging to Chance, The Great Khan who couldn’t let go.

Challenge Run: Anytime you see fire or NCR soldiers, take all the Chems you have and go berserk using Chance's Knife...
Depends where
Man I have 60 tablets of oxycodone in my cupboard, please don’t make me do this
Hell ya!
@Lava Shark and Boy Girl And you see NCR soldiers outside?
We all need to give Chance a…chance
The Fallout new Vegas comic was badass, they should've made it a series.
Yeah at bare minimum it should've included a single comic of each major faction in the game, whether they are focused on key characters or not.
Facts I love comic books based on games especially when theyre rich with lore
Dude this comic gave me chills
@@Spongebrain97Randall Clark, Joshua Graham, Ulysses, etc.
Similar to the Mad Max comics by Vertigo. Joshua, Ulysses, Elijah, etc. would’ve been great stories.
I love the mythical status the Courier achieves
@TheCommandZone.People like you are ruining RUclips. Scum.
No Gods! No Masters!
Oh dude I remember this comic! It came with my pre-order for new Vegas. I even got the vault 13 bundle(came with the armored suit and the “trusty canteen” lol 😂). The art in this comic is amazing. I wish Bethesda would release more comics of fallout. Truth be told I almost wish Chance was the protagonist of New Vegas. It’s a bummer that a lot people didn’t fully understand the backstory(The grave) of chance back in 2010.
I ran across Chances Map and didn't understand what I was looking at. After the backstory reached my ears, the map, grave and knife made more sense.
@@wyvvernstone exactly! Same thing goes with chances map that’s close to red rock canyon, The Khan camp and The tribal village right next to chances grave. If you didn’t read the comic book, you wouldn’t understand any of these locations. In my opinion they should’ve included dialogue in the game that would explain the full journey and characters before the events of good springs. That way nobody misses out.
I didn't know any of this until this comment and video so thank you!
I pre ordered as well and the bs people at gamestop never gave me my comic. They said they "ran out"
I kind of feel ashamed that I didn't knew this story at all beforehand. I never realized the significance of Chance's map and the burned town in game. It might be short story but I really like how it perfectly plays itself into the main theme of the game, letting go or dwelling on your past
It's really a shame I didn't know about the Fallout New Vegas comic sooner. Seems like an hidden gem.
If chance was alive at the time of the game, it would've been great to have him as a companion after Benny betrays Jessup and the other Khans. Having a companion that's activity anti NCR would be great, a counter to Boon.
I’m surprised we don’t have any legion companions tbh. I think Ulysses was planned to be in the base game, but they cut that version of the character.
Chance's Knife is one of the best melee weapons in the game when it received the 25% damage bonus from both the Commando and Cowboy perks.
Late game, however, it is surpassed by Blood Nap, a unique Lonesome Road DLC bowie, which also benefits from the Cowboy perk, and has a much higher base damage.
Blood-Nap isn’t covered by any reanimation mods, it also doesn’t look as good as the combat knives.
Chance looks an awful lot like Grognak the barbarian. I wonder if there’s some sort of weird connection?
It would be crazy if he had an axe.
A beautiful, haunting story. Your delivery and performance does it justice.
I hope the fallout tv show can be almost as deep as this comic
There's going to be a tv show?
@@Tiltigo featuring Walton Goggins!
I think you have high hopes, this is an age of decadence
Yeah like fallout 4 hope to play fallout 76 one Day
@Homer oh shut up nerd
Yeah, to bad the sacrifice was all in vein. The rest of the group wasn't long for this world once I tracked them down to Boulder City.
It's always a gift to see a new Synonymous video come out to listen to and enjoy! ❤🔥
RIP Matthew Perry, he let us know that the game was rigged from the start...
Nothing better to be playing Fallout while listening to Synonymous.
I wish there were more comics or books about Fallout world
Been playing New Vegas for years and sharing a name with this guy, didn’t know his story until now. Love these videos about side characters like this
The best melee weapon in game is that combat knife Chance had... Chance's Knife
With the right perks it has the same dps as oh baby the super sledge witch is the best melee weapon in the game
thank you for the incredible video, synonymous!! it was a great lore video, another lesson contributed to “letting go”
You're welcome! 😁👍
Next week on Synonymous: Statistics, then Mathematics
The sound of that horn in the first second or two of your videos has become a Pavlovian association for me and I’m okay with that.
Yeah, it's become a staple. Where is it from, though? I feel like I've heard it somewhere before.
Absolutely heartbreaking. This is why Obsidian beats Bethesda out of the park. The tribal themes really look into what it means to be human instead of just vague good vs. bad morality that tries to appeal to everyone.
I've played New Vegas a lot I didn't know this about Benny and would love to see you do a video on him
can always rely on you for great stories in the fallout universe my favourite is still the one guy who looked out for the Mexicans and who hunted the dwellers who killed them
Absolutely one of the best videos yet. Incredible job man
It took me a very long time to figure the map and the grave site out. At the time it came out I couldn't afford to pre-order anything more than the base game so I never knew about the comic story
Watch your videos to go to sleep, then watch them again when getting ready in the morning lol,
YES A NEW UPLOAD!! I discovered your channel a few days ago and I absolutely love it. You're my new favorite Fallout Lore channel!
Welcome aboard! 😁👍
Damn, that hurts a bit. Great video as always
As always, you never cease to amaze!
Not kidding! Your lore videos are the best on the internet!
I do hope is well with you and yours! o7
I'm glad you like them! And thank you, all is well 😁👍 I hope you can say the same!
That's so cool! I always thought the map drawn in the sand near Red Rock Canyon was a plan of the Khans to attack Vegas. I never expected it to be connected to the burned down village where you find Hate and Love, or the grave between there and Goodsprings. I'm so surprised I haven't heard about this before
Hey man. Long time fan. Thanks for the video :)
Much love brother!
Funnily enough I was looking for a video to fold laundry to. Thanks Synonymous, excited for this one!
Glad you did this my friend
Bro the drop at the end that Jessup was with Benny when he shot you is wjldddddd
This is pure "nostalgia" as well!
Another banger from synonymous for my glum day. Love from the drab city of filthadelphia!
This is my favorite video, I watch it alot. Obviously doesn't have exact parallels but reminds me of my relationship with my best friend who lost his way from trauma and Chems.
The last time I was this early, FNV crashed upon purchase.
Luckily, you didn't have to be early to enjoy the non-stop crashing of New Vegas if you played it on PS3 like I did.
Nice! Some new lore videos to listen to while I walk the dogs.
Now I'm crying and it's not even 8:30 in the morning, rest in peace Chance. And thank you for the video, excellent as always.
One of your best videos by far!
Chance is good in a fight chems or not.
Mayor Hancock "I'd party with him.
The only time I've ever cried in video games was when I found Chance's map & I looked up what it was about & who left it.
Chance is my 3rd favorite character in Fallout:NV behind Randal Clark & Joshua Graham.
His story is the saddest story in the best RPG ever made. MANLY TEARS.
@Synonymous. SYNONYMOUS! SUMMON THE MINUTEMEN! WE HAVE A ROGUE MECHANIST SWARM-BOT IN THE COMMENTS!
_shoots robot with legendary Mini-Nuke 2-shot_
Brilliant as always sir 👍
What a grate way to start the day cheers bud
Chance should've been a companion. Awesome story
@TheCommandZone. I am good give it to someone else
God! Your content is so good and your voice so crisp
So benny indirectly got chase killed and then bailed when it came to pay the khans?
cool
EYYY! LOVE IT WHEN I GET A GREAT VIDEO AT 2AM!
1AM for me! Was getting ready for bed, but now it can wait lol
Oh yeah, a new video of my favorite fallout RUclipsr
Reminds me again of the vid essay I seen recently commentating that NV is all about learning to Let Go.
Honestly, it once again applies here. I feel like this game speaks to me on a unconscious level I am not aware of; but this continual reassertion that I must "let go" feels telling and applicable.
My French ass thought this was about Luck 😂
Chance was a Warrior through and through. I don’t know what the Khans believe in as far as religion/afterlife but I’m sure he earned a warrior’s afterlife
great video bro, especially for me cause I never bothered actually reading the physical comic lol
These videos are really cool
When i got the collectors box. i read the comic and thought the fiends, were gonna be a serious threat and they werent they were just a let down copy paste fo3 raiders. But still an epic intro story. Kinda wish we could have met chance and had more great kharn story.
I wish there was more of these. So many story’s to be told and comics would be great for it. Power armor might finally get the recognition it deserves if shown in the lore
Ring a ding ding baby, this is your last chance ya dig?
The Benny in the comics is nothing like the Benny we've got in the game
So hard to let go, so hard to move on and adapt to new things
I remember back before I played the game for the first time I knew a bit of the story and who Benny and other bigger character were... so when I was reading the comic I was thinking about how much I was looking forward for a battle against Chance and how it was going to be a fighting second only to the Lanius fight.
Later I used Chance's knife when I killed Benny and again when attacking the Khans in Red Rock Canyon...
can you do lore on the small greaser gangs of fallout (atom cats, tunnel snakes, or the kangs)
damn bro i'm not the biggest fan of the khans but that chance guy is an absolute chad
Damn it almost makes me feel bad for wiping out all Great Khans. Almost
Couldn't let go? dude must have not been to the Sierra Madre.
That's not a Boulder...it's a rock
Hmmm, everyday is a school day. I've always thought if you could throw it it's a rock, if you couldn't it's a boulder
@@Synonymous101 your probably right. I was just quoting spongebob 😅
@@tristanspicer9830 I love that 😂
Great video, this is what made new vegas so special. Just felt like there was extra depth and care when it came to crafting the stories and lore, so many of the new vegas quests are memorable like that. I just hope Bethesda can keep this in mind for any new fallout games, because fallout 4, although good felt so vapid in its attempts to craft a narrative when compared to new vegas
Honestly it's the Khans life style of raiding that got them into that bittersprings nightmare and there own faults for stealing and killing they are just a more organized version of fiends i do feel bad for chance but you make your own bed so you must lie in it.
there are A lot of life lessons In New Vegas but one that the game Keep teaching you about is Letting go. we see this In A lot of Characters in New Vegas like Cass, Boone, Grandma Lily, and Raul, they're all attached and resentful to the past, to let go is the only way of peace, it's an important lesson We Should all consider in our lives. the past Can't come back we can only look forward
Shit like this makes me want a bigger better Great Khans story in a future game
They need to do more fallout comics its helps flush the world around the player if they read them of course
Yet another sad story from the world of fallout
Dude this was depressant I love it!!
Another good one, I had forgotten about "All Roads".
All's fair, in love and war Chance. Great Khans should know this well.
Great now I feel horrible for all those times I killed Jessup in my playthroughs of new vegas I let revenge get the better of me I didn't know his past
Letting revenge get to you isn't vey Jedi of you Obi-Wan. 😔
Damn that was a nice video.
I been saying fallout needs more comics and I still think so
His full name is Chance Thundercock isn't it?
Smashing video fam
RIP Benny
I wish there was an overhaul for the fiends to make their territories look gruesome like in this comic
woah- finally viewing after posted in under an hour !
let's see what you've got for us today !
What a great subject to cover man genius ✌🏻🤙🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Just gotta say, that isn't Psycho. It would probably be Med-X, based on it's appearance. Psycho is a more complicated drug, but it's basically a methamphetamine, Med-X works as a sedative and painkiller, since it's literally morphine.
That's neat, but in The Graphic Novel Benny calls it Psycho.
So basically a bio-engineered grognak the barbarian was sent to earth by the zetans just for kicks.
Well good morning to you too
probably a long research topic buuuut a video on vault-tec would be cool!
A piano doesn't "pluck" the strings within it.
It hits them with a hammer.
Make of that what analogies you will.
He said “Once in a Blue Moon” and I chuckled.
The Khans always survive, one way or another.
So another thing I've gleamed from all this is that the courier is notorious for destruction even before the divide, that's wild!
My name is Chance so naturally I always carried his knife, truly a legendary one of us
Many forget the comic!
Now that's good tasting lore.
His knife is really good
Not that it matters over all or justified Bitter Springs, but the Khans had been Raiding the NCR homesteads for a while. It is implied that this was massacre of these homesteads. So, it's understandable why many didn't care to spare anyone at Bitter Springs.
What about a video on Father? I think he's cool cause it's really hard to figure out if he's a good guy or bad guy
He should be fallout protagonist
