Cathal, you are in Northern Ireland! I know that masoleum well! I saw it via a video by a gentleman who lives in the Castlereage Hills, County Down, Northern Ireland. He showed it in great detail a little over three years ago. I loved it then and I love it now! It looks exactly the same. It never had any overgrowth or ivy on it at all. The urn and veil, the whole building is so unique. But I never saw inside. All very different caskets and urns in very good condition. It is such a beauty, thank you for venturing into Northern Ireland, maybe now you will visit my family members there also. ♥️🙏☘️
Hi Janet this one was special and so unique. I was kinda caught for time running around with my friend Mark doing videos. I'm home now but will definitely be back again and maybe I can video your family graves. What part are they in?
Oh my! You have truly outdone yourself, just when I think I have seen the most beautiful gravyard/mosoleum, bam! You come out with this! Thank you for sharing & thank you for documenting this very important history! God bless 🙌
That was an amazing mausoleum and the interior also looked to be in excellent condition! Thank you for this great discovery. Wish there was more biographical info about the family. Cheers!
Hi GV Steve from England. That mausoleum was out of this world. Coffins were exstrodany preserved. Nice to see that robbers haven't got in. Subscribed to mark. On your ST Patrick grave video the other day, was cancelled and your reply, why I don't know GV.
How are those coffins still intact, specially so open to the elements. I don’t know what the family paid the coffin maker, but they certainly got their money’s worth.
Hi. I found a small bit of info for you. The Murland family were wealthy local mill owners, they lived at Ardnabannon and it is thought that the architect who designed their house also designed the family mausoleum. This was Thomas Turner, a Dublin-born architect who began his career as an assistant to Charles Lanyon in Belfast and who had a long and productive career designing buildings all over Ireland including Stormont Castle and Coleraine Town Hall. Not much, but it will help. x
Any memorial in a cemetery is a testimony of the living rather than the dead. I want to be cremated and my ashes spread in the bush near my home without any memorial. Cost =$0. My wife's ashes were spread in the bay close to home as she wished. Occasionally I spread some rosemary (remembrance) in the water near where her ashes were spread. She had MS for her last 26 years. She couldn't ambulate for the last 15 years. I was her carer.
Wow. Those coffins are perfectly preserved for over 150 years. And those Urns, just wow. GV, you are so respectful to the dearly departed families and I admire and respect you tremendously for that. And the way the mausoleum is built, just blows my mind. To have that many family members in there, is just a testament to their admiration for their parents. For a mill owning family, back then milling was the biggest paying job someone could work for. It just astounds me. Rest In Peace to the Murland family. Another great video GV. Keep up the great work.
That is a very fine design for a Mausoleum! The person who designed it had the right idea to use strong iron, stone, and mortar, and didn't make it totally underground and air tight, so it held water which will rot the coffins and the building faster than vandalism and storms. Although, it also looks to be renovated inside and out, which is why the coffins were numbered, so they could go back where they originally were placed. Hopefully, they are able to keep the graveyard and Mausoleums intact, and not turn it into a 'nature preserve', which is code for letting it get overgrown and forgotten, as the graves decay and get vandalized.
That's some mausoleum and it's incredible how well everything inside is considered the air can get inside. And the outside is so well put together. Your videos are top drawer nearly as good as Sue's 😂.. ah really an amazing video GV
Ok Cathal! I’m so sorry! I take back what I said about the Mausoleum……I missed you looking inside, and had NO IDEA there would be so many coffins and cremains!!……wherever have all these family members come from!! NOW I realise just why they needed one so big! I was just going by the first few names you read on the outside, but my goodness! So sincere apologies,! This makes me think of a comment I made recently which just showed the lead linings of coffins in a mausoleum that you and Sue showed us recently m and I coukdnt imagine where the outside shell of the actual casket had gone. This shows that the caskets don’t just disintegrate….so that must have been vandals. Such a shame when you see all these family members resting quietly together as it should be, undisturbed .🕊️🙏 my apologies again …love Helen xx🫶💐
Wow! That mausoleum was exquisite. I can only imagine what the cost of building, and the stonework that went into the construction of this monument. Some where I bet someone has a list of who’s in what coffin according to the numbers on the coffins. Plus, the coffins were in very good shape but it must have a little to do with each coffin sitting on a shelf as not to crush the one underneath it. Ok GV excellent video as always. God bless you.
Thank you so much! Thank you for crawling on the ground to share the inside of this amazing mausoleum. And also...Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful voice and accent. You bring music to the English language. Very appreciative 62 year old 🇨🇦

It's astonishing that the inside of this and the coffins have remained in such good condition when there are open vent areas like that. it surprises me too that the shelves don't have fronts on them instead of just sitting there in the open. Fascinating video, thank you for sharing 😊
As I watch these videos it’s incredible how many of these last names are now so common in the U.S. Amazing how many Irish came to America from a relatively tiny island and became so successful and important in American history.

As beautiful as that mausoleum is, I prefer to be buried in the ground, because here in the United States, small family mausoleums eventually fall into disrepair because the family eventually becomes so dispersed or distanced by time. If it is a large mausoleum owned by a cemetery, you can never trust the cemetery management to manage their money to pay for the huge maintenance bills that will eventually arise. Who maintains this mausoleum? Is the Murland family still around and do they still have money?

the Murland mausoleum which was carefully conserved by the Follies Trust in 2019.
