Campervan roadtrip to skiing in the Alps

- Join us as we head off to the Alps in our VW campervan, driving across France to meet up with our kids and their partners for an epic family ski trip. It's our first ski holiday since early retiring and we are so excited to see meet up with our loved ones and have a magical time in the mountains.
We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. We have chosen to early retire from teaching during the summer of 2022 at the age of 51. Our plans for early requirement include relocating to the Yorkshire Dales, developing our forever home and travel the UK, Europe and eventually the world in our VW campervan Nelson.
You will soon realise that we are complete RUclips beginners with all the challenges of creating and publishing videos ahead of us, not to mention uploading when on the road.

It has been pretty awesome so far! We are on a campsite in Bourg st Maurice for a few nights now to see what it is like skiing from the van ⛷️
I love my road trips to the Alps, all part of my holiday. Although heading to the Pyrenees this summer by way of a change and going Portsmouth / St Malo for the overnight ferry / sleep. You really struck lucky with the arrival of all that snow - amazing conditions! Plus to do it with your kids - special times / memories made. Looking forward to your next instalment....stay safe 🙂
It really was a special couple of weeks and great that the kids still want to holiday with us! We are planning our summer trips and one is to drive either up or down the french Atlantic coast and over the Pyrenees. We haven’t been to southern France or Spain yet in the van. Exciting times 🚐 have fun on your travels and hope you are enjoying them as much as we do x
Hi guys, great video. I've nearly finished converting my van to a campervan and heading to France March 16 - 2024, I ferry into Dunkirk. Where did you go and any tips on where to drive to once I land, please? I'm a solo traveller.
We spent a few weeks in the french alps skiing out of bourg st Maurice - staying at the camping Huttopia site which is great. I suppose it depends if you want the mountains and snow or quaint french towns?
You must mention the names of the cities you visited so that we can understand where you are

Hi can you advise what resort you were at. I seen a clip of the Motorhome aire do you have any more info on it? thanks
We were in the la plagne resort which does have an aire that you can book but we didn’t stay there sorry, we stayed at camping Huttopia in bourg st Maurice after a week in an apartment in Montalbert
@@earlyretirementwanderlust we have skied at Tignes a few times stayed at Saint Foy Tarentaise and Tignes fancied taking the Motorhome to go skiing
