I am surprised the no -CGI ad was not on the list. It was funny when he realized none of the post-production was done, and epically great when a critter did after the fact.
I think the two funniest lines (apart from anything to do with masterdebate) were: 1. “Let’s stop here, on this mound of silverware!” **Massive metallic crunching** 2. “Mother, I bring news from the womb.”
Season 2 episode 5 I believe. I love how Travis said they'd be fools if they didn't make that happen, and they did it. I often wonder if sam gets royalties from it. He should. It's more than just a jingle. Still never get tired of hearing it.
I've watched these ads so many times because I never know who to focus on. Do I watch Sam delivering an Oscar-worthy performance? Do I watch Matt bluescreen? Do I watch Taliesin die of laughter? Absolute champion entertainment of the highest order.
Sam's commercials continue to be the only ones I see being made into their own clips for further advertising/comedy. It's ridiculous. He is so good, worth his weight in gold, and D&D Beyond has got to have a ridiculous ROI on its investment into Critical Role.
@GraveUnicorn if by these guys you mean voice actors, they don’t get payed as much as you think. The average earnings of a voice actor per year are below $10,000, and its a very unstable source of income. If by millionaires you mean D&D beyond, there are many people behind the works that profit must be split among. Businesses like that always spend lots of money on advertisements to benefit themselves in the long-run, and the audience of Critical Role is likely to be interested in their service, making it a good investment.
Or maybe the top ten of the cast making fun of Matt's NPC names😃. Although the " Auditor / Otter " bit, from I think 3 weeks back, is one of my all-time favorites.
Zizo I mean we all know he has a SUPER legit musical theater background but when he just effortlessly hits that “invisible WAAAAAAND” it gets me every time, even if he’s playing it as a joke. You listen to that first run advertisement version of the jingle and it’s basically pitch perfect to the finished, produced end result. Earth doesn’t deserve Sam.

As someone who has (apparently foolishly) been skipping these ads for about 125 episodes, to me, the real miracle is that so many comments are people complaining that their favorite wasn't included.
Ok. So Travis said "That's why you wouldn't hug me before the show." Which means that Travis not only is the jolliest, handsomest member of Critical Role--he's also a hugger! Sheesh, Travis. I'm a married woman, you know. Stop being so great.
Wait... so Liam and Sam both won the campaign... both becoming president of D&D Beyond... and Ashley Johnson became vice-president... then Liam and Sam got fired simultaneously... is Ashley now president of D&D Beyond? Can someone confirm this?
In case anyone is wondering when Sam is impersonating Talesin he is speaking Italian. His pronunciation is a bit off regarding some of the consonants, but I believe he says “Do not bathe yourself, bathe your heart. Always God you were at the sea. Always go to DndBeyond.”
The look on Matt’s face when Merciri goes ‘tweet all your question to Matthew Mercer, he will respond to every single question within three hours time’. Brilliant.
Liam: Hey, Ashley, you want to help me out with an ad? Nothing fancy, just a quick campaign speech, maybe a quick jab at Sam. Ashley, looking at her list of "things sam riegel's face looks like": Sure, nothing fancy
All *Gale* related clips have been omitted, because it was impossible to choose between them, and I'll be doing a special compilation of those soon anyway :)
Man, my first recognized role of Sam is Viral from Gurren Lagann and so seeing a VA of a character who has an edgier personality,, being an overall goof is mystifying
Listening to what Matt said in the birth one hit my soul... "O, you're not goin to be here? You gave birth? Ok.... [throws papers in the air of what I had planned for their chars. for months]..... what? Nooooooo, it won't effect game at all. I planned for this all along."
With the Merciri rolling ones and twenties... The exact same thing happened with an Alexa at my own family home. My sister asked Alexa to roll a d20 and Alexa gave a 1. Then I asked for Alexa to roll and it was a 20
I don't know why but I need Dan Avidan from NSP/Game Grumps/Star Bomb to appear as a guest on Critical Roll. Danny and Sams musical prowess would be legendary.
There are too many good ones. I'm waiting for them to do a compilation. I did ask for this in the comments a few weeks ago. Maybe Dani saw the comment. One never knows but it sure is great stuff. I've started re-watching campaign 2 a few weeks back to fill the void, and Sam's spots are hilarious. I think the DnD folks have to love it. It's one of the best ad campaigns that was never devised.
The radio play is sam's opus. I don't think he will ever out do it. Truly a once in a life time performance and one that i believe was Emmy worthy. God bless Samerica.

When your show is so good you don't skip the ads but actively look for and re watch them
@DJ KO Really?
@DJ KO freak
Some weeks, I will tune in just to watch Sam's ad, and then go to bed and watch the VOD later.
I just watched a 46 minute ad, and left happy.
@@No-hf5xb Honestly if it was Sam preforming the ad I might actually watch it,
Shows what happens when people put effort in and make it fun for everyone.
DnD Beyond struck gold with Sam. (letting him do whatever he wants makes its entertaining)
Just like when you master debate!
I could watch sam do a rAiD ShAdOwLeGEnDs ad and leave happy
"Whatever Sam did, He did it"
- Sam Riegle Biography
Both the shortest and yet most accurate memoir ever.
Foreword by Travis Willingham - "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
I think the two funniest lines (apart from anything to do with masterdebate) were:
1. “Let’s stop here, on this mound of silverware!” **Massive metallic crunching**
2. “Mother, I bring news from the womb.”
SewingNoodle I think you’re forgetting “hEE HEEE”
Personally, I’m a fan of “Hey, look at me! I need constant attention!”
I'm also a fan of "a real job dad!!"
I want to suggest "A donkey wearing a Jeff Goldblum mask" because that was a sick ass burn
@@shinyblue4774 I love that, he drops it so fucking quick it caught me off-guard
Every great ad ends with "Im so sorry, DnD Beyond."
That’s when you know Sam has outdone himself.
Matt: Episode 69
Everyone: ~Woooo
Sam: _Nice_
Laura: *dies*
Matt's nonstop facepalm for the masterdebate bit made it so so much better
Poor Matt xD
"Thank you, D&D Beyond. I am... *_so sorry."_*
He’s like a tired father
I LOVED the camera pans to him. Poor guy
Taliesin's face changing color is an even better reaction than Matt's one constant facepalm.
Liam's face at 25:22 though.
I forgot the D&D Beyond jingle was an ad first. Sam Riegel you genius
And it stayed surprisingly true to the bit
Season 2 episode 5 I believe. I love how Travis said they'd be fools if they didn't make that happen, and they did it. I often wonder if sam gets royalties from it. He should. It's more than just a jingle. Still never get tired of hearing it.
And then morphed into the Season 2 intro, which laid the ground for the animated series. Awesome stuff!
I love Taliesin's face of horror whenever Sam announces he's going to be going something ridiculous
Sam is the only thing an eternal being like him fears
I live for Taliesin's face during every DnD Beyond ad
One day I want Sam to deliver the most plain and blunt advertisement and watch everyone else be afraid
I think he kinda did that once (granted it was part of the bit, which nonetheless spiraled out of control afaik, but still)
Campaign 3 ep 1 “I’m sticking to the script” “really?” “NO of course not Sam I made a broadway musical” 😭
"Polls are meant to be ridden" is such an underrated line.
Sponsoring critical role is the best damn choice dndbeyond ever made
I actually started using it because of CR😂
I think it’s the other way around lol
Critical Role sponsored DnDBeyond
Matt's error 404 face when Sam put his own face over his face
Pretty sure that's genuine fear in his eyes.
Hey look at me I need constant attention!!!
I read that comment before i saw it and i thought "it can't be that bad".
Edit: it was XD
I've watched these ads so many times because I never know who to focus on. Do I watch Sam delivering an Oscar-worthy performance? Do I watch Matt bluescreen? Do I watch Taliesin die of laughter? Absolute champion entertainment of the highest order.
I love whenever the camera cuts to Matt looking absolutely horrified/bewildered/apologetic
with that whole Master debator thing, Liam missed the perfect opportunity to say something like, but I'm a cunning linguist
I love you 😂
Sam's commercials continue to be the only ones I see being made into their own clips for further advertising/comedy. It's ridiculous. He is so good, worth his weight in gold, and D&D Beyond has got to have a ridiculous ROI on its investment into Critical Role.

Every ad is an attempt to kill Taliesin to get that pact with Satan back.
I bet these are ranked based on Laura's tendency to hide. Laura was embarrassed in the poem, she wasn't even in the one ranked 1st.
Can we have TOP 10 Matt apologies?

The look of unabashed joy on Sam's face after finishing the radio play makes my heart melt.

Sam Riegel: "Radio Play"

Nah they were the presidents of party planning at DnD Beyond but they blew the budget
You can tell how the rankings of these videos go based on Matt's reactions/facepalm's and apologies.
Liam's "a real job dad!" Hit me on a deep level
15:38 "I put on so much weight since that picture, lord" TALIESIN LMFAO

In case anyone is wondering when Sam is impersonating Talesin he is speaking Italian. His pronunciation is a bit off regarding some of the consonants, but I believe he says “Do not bathe yourself, bathe your heart. Always God you were at the sea. Always go to DndBeyond.”
I love how he hinted at Nott backstory with Merciri
ashley johnson: *casts vicious mockery*
A real job, dad!
Alternate total: Sam making Matt lose his mind for 46 minutes straight.
was hoping Sam's, "surfer bro" would've be included in the list
There's another video devoted entirely to Rhodey 'surfer bro' Slater.
The look on Matt’s face when Merciri goes ‘tweet all your question to Matthew Mercer, he will respond to every single question within three hours time’. Brilliant.
My face hurts so much from laughing at the sound effects one.
Sam is an incredible writer.
Liam: Hey, Ashley, you want to help me out with an ad? Nothing fancy, just a quick campaign speech, maybe a quick jab at Sam.
Ashley, looking at her list of "things sam riegel's face looks like": Sure, nothing fancy
The moment sam lost is the moment liam got Ashley. no question about it LOL.
#VoteWithYourJohnson ;)
The Birth and the Masterdebater are easily top 2 every time. Nothing gets me more than "Mother, I bring news from the womb" in such a serious tone.
I love how delighted Laura was by the master debater bit
As Matt has said She's their resident 12 year old lol
Laura’s face in the moment of Realization when the sexy guitar starts makes it so much better
The fact that this is a compilation of ads that we willing we watch is crazy to me I love it
I can't believe they just let the "Filibuster" joke fly by, although I admit it needed more whomp but damn that was really clever.
Thank you for this.

This doesn’t have the hacker Sam so it’s definitely wrong now

I think the best part of the radio show bit is the ""Oh I didn't even look at what they sent me to read" that SENT me. Also, "Anyway, the BIT"
I actually got into CR because of Sams ads, and I 100% thought Travis's entire personality was the Dallas Cowboys
You've got as far as the Darrington Brigade special, right? If not, must watch :)
The absolute slam dunk on this was Liam’s “A real job, Dad!”
Ahhh the birth of the dndbeyond cartoon ad.... a true classic if ever there was one
The donkey wearing a Jeff Goldblum mask is a golden burn too.
This is the most accurate top 10 I’ve ever seen. Sam, you are a treasure to the D&D world.

That Valentine's day poem is probably my favorite general I watch it like three times every time I see it 😂😂😂
D&D beyond prolly got so much more out of these advertisements than regular ads its insane they didnt hire him 😂
Well done. Now do top ten Matt Mercer ads for whatever the hell he does ads for... or wait, no, do top ten Laura bailey talking bout merch.
I had forgotten until this video that the D&D Beyond jingle started as one of the ads
This man is a National Treasure.
The poem might be my favorite. Everything Sam does is funny though
Fun list. Since everyone will have their favorites, I'm going to petition for The Dust Bowl Play from C1.

RUclips counts positive and negative engagement equally 😂
These all seem to be from Campaign 2, whilst SO many incredible ones happened in Campaign 1. Need a combo of both.

I think The Radio Play was the best
That’s probably my favourite too, but my impression is that the community really love the birth 😂
The foley work Sam did was awesome. As a huge fan of old time radio, it was as much a treat to me as it was to Sam.
The first time I watched it live, I was bawling my eyes out
The radio play is sam's opus. I don't think he will ever out do it. Truly a once in a life time performance and one that i believe was Emmy worthy. God bless Samerica.
Sam's impression of liam was spot on
I have to say as a fan of persona coming into this fan base as a newbie it’s really funny seeing Matt being/attempting to be the straight man
