It took me YEARS to finally get rid of a TON of clothes, I finally donated it all this month. I’m talking 20 huge garbage bags full of clothes, shoes, accessories etc. I can’t tell you how much better you’ll feel once you finally declutter!
Clothes... I got rid of so much because I gained weight after 50.. (menopause sucks)... But I was determined to hang on to so much because I keep telling myself I'm going to be a small again. Ummm no... And I'm okay with it. 😊
I thought I was alone in being so sensitive to everything!!! It totally overwhelms me when there is too much noise or too loud music and even conversation. When I’m home alone I never ever have tv or music on but rather I enjoy the stillness. My husband is not like me so often I have remind him to please keep the sound on his phone low in the evenings as it revs up my system. I’m glad I’m not alone because I thought I was a crazy person feeling this way!
Me, too. I am really sensitive to sounds and activity. Sometimes people talk way too loud out in public like in a restaurant and I don't want to hear their conversations at all. Too much activity, too, like driving on the freeway. I just can't do that anymore. I need it quiet and peaceful.
Brittany, it feels so good watching your videos and knowing that there is such an alignment with embracing a lifestyle that is beautifully simple! Thank you for all that you do…I appreciate you so much!
Thanks for this. I am easily overwhelmed and your advice couldnt have happened at a better time. I am lost in my sea of stuff. Onward and upward with that.
Have you tried reusable sandwich bags for your smoothies? They make some that are hand wash only, but I prefer the ones you can put right in the dishwasher. I believe they are made out of silicone. They seal really well and are kind to the environment. :)
I have wayyyyyyyy too much clothes! I’ve been through at least 4 rounds of purging and I still am overflowing some drawers! It’s a process though and each declutter gets easier and easier 🥰
Yes, remember that fast fashion is creating havoc in countries in Africa, and polluting the world, etc etc. and then try not buying any new clothes for a year or so. I have not bought new clothes for over 3+ years. I generally buy clothes that tend to be classic and become out of date within 4-5 years min. Saves me money, saves clutter, and saves the planet. What could be better
I just recently starting decluttering and man does it feels so good! I noticed how many clothes I have that I don’t wear/ don’t fit especially in this Texas heat! I vacuum sealed a bunch of clothes and got rid of so many things. I’m currently trying to simplify my meals. Awesome video Brittany!
What I have the most of is kids toys. Toy rotation is a tricky concept for my son. We’re going to keep trying it and find something that works well for our family. I love ambiance videos too! Creates such a fun vibe.
Another helpful video Brittany - some good reminders here. I have way too many kitchen items and I don’t use that many of them. I’m going through a decluttering process and donating to good will. It’s such a cleansing process. I love the way you’re so honest about how sensitive you are.
I have too much Disney toys. At the time collecting little stuff animals seemed so simple and in stressful. Now I spent too much and have nowhere to store them.
Mugs. I'm decluttering to move house and have realized...too...many...mugs. Each one marking an interest of my kids, so kind of hard to let go of but once they're gone I have freed up so much space. Thanks for the constant inspiration Brittany!
I have too many clothes. My goal this summer is to go through and pare down things I don't wear often. Thank you for a great video. I found your channel from Shea.

Craft supplies. I think I’m so overwhelmed with them that I don’t craft. But it was such a huge expense to accumulate them all, that it’s hard to let go.
Great simplifying tips. Before moving, I had way too many clothes and shoes along with a lot of kitchen tools. Now after cleaning out, everything is what I use!😄
Yey! To uniforms! Every year i have worn dresses, they are easy no need to think about coordinating anything and because i only have two pairs of shoes for spring and summer, it's even easier.
My kids are 6 and 9 and they definitely pick their own outfits. They have become pretty fast at it. The 6 year old up until last year used to spend so much time choosing an outfit, now as soon as she gets up, she chooses top, bottom, underpants, socks and gets dressed. So I'm definitely done choosing for them and love seeing how they like to dress themselves.
I have been going through my clothes. I didn't realize I have as much as I do. I still need to go through my clutter. I also been trying to go through my grandchildren, clothes. With is very overwhelming to me. There is five of them. They always have company over every single day. Thanks for the tips and may you have a Blessed day.
I have been a minimalist for 11 years so this video was so great!! I can list all of my clothes and possessions off the top of my head but I'm the only one in my family who is a minimalist. My family needs to pare down stuffies and "yard tools". 🤪
I used to say that the only thing I had too many of- that were my non negotiables- were books! But you turned me into a kindle girl, and it’s been wonderful as we’ve been traveling 🤓 A nice light backpack for this mama!
I have too many paperback books. Thinking maybe I will want to read them again. You know later on when I’m retired and have all that free time. 🤦♀️. Enjoy your channel.
I have way too much craft supplies! It’s nice to have when I’m inspired to make something but I have collected way to much over the years. I definitely need to focus on decluttering and using it up.
I have too much of everything! I tend to get very obsessed with something, buy so much of it, and then move on to another thing. I would say my biggest current clutter is party/decor supplies. I have way too much and currently not as much to celebrate or time to do elaborate parties. So it’s definitely time to declutter this stuff! 😊
I pride myself on my ability to simplify my life and have things very clean and organized BUT! I love your idea of cutting down and simplifying kids toys! Soooo needed! It’s the one thing that always gets so out of control!
Great tips! I need to pair down my clothes. I am not a clothes person at all, but still have too much. I think the ear plugs would be a great idea for my husband. He gets sooo overwhelmed by noise.
I have too much sentimental stuff!!! I can’t get rid of it. But also, so many stickers and markers. I use to love updating my planner, but I haven’t had time since 2018!!!
Definitely clothes with books being the second. Like you I am now getting mostly e-books. I am also a highly sensitive person and I use soft classical music to calm me.
I have waaaay too many things that I think I will use, but never do lol!! I definitely need to go around and declutter my life again. Thank you for a nice calming video and I hope you have a good summer!!
I love your videos! As a therapist I find your videos very soothing and will be recommending some of these ideas and products to my clients with sensory sensitivity. Thank you for what you do. 🙏🏼🤍
So many great tips! I think I have too many kitchen gadgets. I’ve been slowly getting rid of 1 purpose items and replacing them with utensils/gadgets that are more multifunctional.
2:48 Brittany - I immediately went out to get the frozen salmon, cod and vegetables from Costco and an air fryer. I’d love more videos about healthy quick meals you make like this!
I have way too many cozy blankets!! I am addicted!! Every time I walk into a store I have to feel the soft blankets!😂😂 So I went through my old ones and donated them to our local animal shelter. Thank you so much for the suggestion!!
I’m very much a maximalist so it’s hard to get rid of things. My clothing is out of control so I’ve been working hard lately to cut things down. Selling nicer items has really been helpful!
Thank you so much! I recently decluttered my house one room at a time, then had a huge yard sale! Has made things a lot more easier in cleaning my house and finding clothes to wear!
Love this! I agree just want a relaxing simple summer lol I love the wardrobe tip! I think I have wayyy to many clothes and shoes that don’t fit that I definitely need to get rid of.
I have too many crafting supplies. I haven't done anything with them since my daughter was born 7 years ago! I almost didn't want to say this category so I wouldn't be challenged to declutter, but it is time. BTW, the kid outfits in a shoe organizer is a great idea - I want to try that!
My daughter is sensitive to noise. I am going to get the ear plugs for her!! Thank you. These ideas were wonderful. I can’t wait to try several of your suggestions.
I need to implement the toy storage tip because I think we just always have too much out. I would love to get those ear buds to cut out the noise and a kindle. Wow! Love the idea of putting kids down earlier. As usual, such a good video!
So many great tips I have really bad anxiety I have some nights it's hard for me to sleep, I like that you mentioned about clothing I'm a care taker for my sister she goes to a program for people with disabilities to get things done for her in the morning is so stressful I'm not a early morning person (6:15 am) 5 days a week it's very hard for me to get up when I can't get good sleep I need to start charging things to make my life less stressful
I have too much of everything! My house is a cluttered disaster to the point of it looking like I'm a hoarder - but I'm not. I'm 63 and moved back to the house I grew up in. Both parents have passed but they're things are still in the house along with my things from teaching, some of my brother's things, items and furniture from the house I moved from, my son's things (he lives here too)...way too much stuff!!!
Some people do book time and music before bed time in PJ's that helps to calm everyone down and makes the kids sleepy especially cuz they usually pretty active during the day in that age.
Always enjoy your content! Even though I’m old enough to be your mother, I find myself purchasing something every time you release a new video. I am also a HSP. I just ordered the ear plugs- thank you!!! ❤
I have too many blankets!! We have a basket next to the couch in the living room to make it easy for the kids to grab one when they want to hang out and watch tv. We have so many though and I’m always debating if I should get rid of some. They’re always folded nicely and I wash them frequently, but it’s still a bit of an eye sore I think. They are all kid blankets so it’s not like they’re neutral and nice looking either 😂
Answer to your question - I have too many clothes in my - pared down(lol) closet. I loved that tip about having a sort of summer uniform..i will have to give that a go and declutter my closet some more.
I have way too many beauty products that I have collected over the years. Shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, face creams, body scrubs… just way too much of everything! You have inspired me to do a huge clean out! I am pregnant with my 3rd baby so I feel like this is the start of my nesting 😂
Loved this short simple video. So many good tips! Some that I use but under appreciate how much it helps! Thanks for the reminder!! ❤ I have too many serving dishes for how often I host!
Brittany, I just wanted to tell you that I purchased your Swedish cloths……game changers!! I had purchased another set previously and ended up tossing them as they did not absorb at all. Your brand is exceptional for a multitude of uses. Thanks for a truly great product.😊
Girl we are one in the same. I’m obsessed with the ambiance channels and I have the same earplugs! They are amazing with young kids especially when being woken up frequently at night. Have you ever watched any lofi channels? Those are also my fave 😊
Great video thank you!…. for me it’s definitely clothes and shoes we recently moved and although I haven’t worn a lot of these items I’m having a hard time pairing down. I definitely think it’s because I used to not have as many clothes and shoes growing up as I wanted so now I feel the need to hold on to everything. Will definitely be working on it tho !
Too many arts and crafts! Just happened upon your channel a week or so ago and am hooked! Thank you Brittany! And thanks for plugging reading! I love to read. Let’s talk about some good summer vacation reads!
CLOTHES! I sell good ones and donate to friends and military, but I still have too many. I’d love an updated video of how you were able to dwindle down your closet! 🙏🏼❤️
One might argue that I have too many measuring cups/spoons, but when I’m baking/cooking I use like 3 spatulas and what feels like a million measuring cups, so I feel no guilt about them! 😂 Something we as a household definitely have too much of are pillows! I feel like the average # of pillows per person is like 5 😮
You're videos are so useful. I don't know how you come up with all this useful information. Literally life-changing. So my one thing I have too much of is random food in our pantry (my husband likes to buy without thinking things through) as well as yoga pants. So many yoga pants!!!
I am an HSP too! I bought those earbuds as well-multiple pairs for myself and my adult kids who are also HSPs! I absolutely must have that wind down quiet time!! ❤❤❤❤ I have too many shoes. Most I haven’t worn in years and could easily donate or throw away!! I love the clean look, it also helps my sensory overload. A cluttered house gives me lots of anxiety! 😮
Yeah, I Have too many shoes. Way too many! I’m selling some on Postmark. Some of them are new and I just never wore. Love this video. It’s inspiring me to declutter.
I have too many saved shipping boxes! I’m like you I’ll eat the same version of dinner every evening, which is usually salmon with broccoli or kale and potatoes or sweet potatoes, and I love it!
I have a lot of books. Many I got for free, cheap or as gifts. I love bookcases and shelves with books, so they're not going anywhere, but I do keep them neat & dusted. :)
You influenced me to get into reading before bed and I LOVE it! I also need to try those ear plugs as a fellow HSP. Something I have too much of are probably mugs. Time to declutter!
I have too many body and facial creams, I am a cosmetologist. Decluter is very important!! I can't believe I'm one of the first to comment, I've been following you for several years, I love your videos! Kisses fron Argentina 🇦🇷💕
Yes to the summer uniforms for children and simple wardrobes for mamas. White cotton t-shirts and cotton biker shorts are so perfect for modest children's summer uniform.
Hi Brittany, thank you for another helpful video. What is hardest for me to throw away are the things my children left behind when they left home 😐. All the best for you and your family. 😀
I got rid of more than half our things 2 years ago when we moved and downsized our home. I am now working on decluttering. I do one area at a time. (Countertop, cabinet, corner, closet, etc) It's so freeing.
So many great tips and reminders, Brittany! Simplicity is truly the key. I love to declutter, so I initially thought that I didn't really have any problem areas when you asked what we have the most trouble with. When you mentioned books, however, I was reminded of my own personal stumbling block. I have donated tons of books over the years, but I would like to get my books down to two shelves in my current unit. I now have three shelves, and I've already weeded them out so much that I'm down to the really hard part. I'd have less trouble getting rid of them if I knew that I could buy them again or borrow them from the library, but unfortunately books go out of print. I'm always worried that I'll lose some valuable information that I'll end up regretting. But you've given me new inspiration to get back to the process of scaling down. Thanks!
Excellent ideas that are easy to make but can see the potential. Planning on making some of your “life changers “ but implementing slowly, one at a time so that I/we actually complete the changes. Thank you! My one big issue actually kinda snowballs into the next issue and etc. I have WAY TOO MUCH clothes! there I’ve said it. The why part is easy to understand: I suffer from a couple long term health issues along paired with severe depression and anxiety. So my weight/size fluctuates dramatically. Anywhere between 150-250lbs so I pretty much need every size offered in store. On top of that I live in Canada where we have 4 distinct beautiful seasons…but that means 1 set/wardrobe for each of the 4…in all sizes. Since money (or lack there of) is a major factor in my life I do go back, wear, alternate all clothes. If looking outdated no worries, I’ve figured out how to make subtle changes (example a top) to the piece and how to accessorize it to look current. But now it’s starts the snowball effect…clothing that is damaged or I find ugly so know I won’t wear again gets put into my fabric bin for sewing all sorts of different things like a new piece of clothing, pillow covers, stuffed animals, seat covers, etc Plus by removing the buttons or zippers etc they can be reused in endless ways to fit and perfect your style. But I also love to diy so between the material (s) for sewing and remnants for DIYs I’ve acquired far too much over time. Sorry Brittany but I’m feeling confident that I need you to actually come to my house to stop the madness! Lol but true. Thank you so very much for all you do for everyone. You are a true inspiration, provide a wealth of knowledge and feel like the sister I’m still wanting at 45 years of age. ❤ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦 *Money saving HACK if anyone is interested in* looking for inexpensive fabric because the fabric stores prices can be ridiculously expensive? Go into plus size sections or stores to scout for the fabric you want (bonus points if it’s on sale or better yet clearance) buy it in the biggest size possible (depending on the project you may need to buy more than one) and then use the item as fabric for your sewing project. 99% of the time doing this will cost you far less than buying fabric in a sewing shop.
@ste0513 I apologize for leaving the long rambling comment as a reply to yours. Not sure how it happened but apologize none the less. Went to edit in an attempt to move my post into the regular comments thread but I couldn’t see how to do that or if it’s even possible. Because of this I’m planning to leave the post where it is UNLESS it’s going to bother him anyway. If it does please let me know and I’ll delete it asap. As you can probably guess it’s simply way too much to retype but know that every word is my truth
Thank you again Brittany. I’m thinking what I have too much of. I’ve tried to be careful of what I buy but I think I have too many small items. Random buys at dollar tree and the thrift store have added up. Thank you for your content as usual. You are always a must watch for me.
We are renovating our kitchen. I took all the items from the cupboards and put them in another room to reduce the amount of dust they will accumulate. I was shocked about how much stuff I have that I have never used since we moved in to this house eight years ago. I am determined to only put back what I use frequently. And that includes my spice cupboard that is out of control.
I needed this video! I always feel like you’re in my brain, Brittany! 😅 I actually don’t have too much of any one thing BUT I have a hard time getting rid of just-in-case items or clothing lol
You have such great videos, Brittany, that are aimed at improving quality of life...something we can probably all use in one form or another. Thank you for sharing.
I agree w all of your ideas. Love your videos!! Regarding the food, it really helps me to food prep and to keep it simple like you said. Great tasting food does not have to be complicated BUT home cooked fresh food is a MUST for because I manage my type 2 through food and strength training, not meds. 😁
I have way to much clothes. A lot of them don’t fit me anymore and haven’t for years. Thank you for the motivation to get in there and do a massive declutter! 🗑️
It took me YEARS to finally get rid of a TON of clothes, I finally donated it all this month. I’m talking 20 huge garbage bags full of clothes, shoes, accessories etc. I can’t tell you how much better you’ll feel once you finally declutter!

how that's crazy that you owned that many 😅 good for you👏
@@surlespasdondine Lots of wasted money 😅
@@madushalalanthi3285 somehow I still do 😂
I am easily overstimulated as well. Good to know others feel the same and to find out what works.
Yes me too I thought I was the only one this way.
There is a book called The Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine N. Aron.
Me too. Sensory overloads. Or overlords. It can really knock me around.

I don’t even have kids but that weekly clothing prep is genius!

Hello, Brittany! You are so smart and amazing. You are an example of a super organized person for me.

I have too many pairs of socks. I haven’t even worn some of them yet. Thank you for this video. Anything to make life easier is always appreciated.
I've been wanting to declutter for AGES and havent been able to force myself! It really is time 🙏🏻
Dish towels!!! (I know it’s a weird thing) I have way too many! I just can’t resist buying a set of pretty dish towels for decor purposes only!😅
The Dr Teals also makes the foaming bath and bath oil for nighttime!! I absolutely love it! 🥰. I will pick up the spray next!!
I love your videos! As a therapist I find your videos very soothing and will be recommending some of these ideas and products to my clients with sensory sensitivity. Thank you for what you do. 🙏🏼🤍
I LOVE the denim look on you. It's like a less perfect but fun look, with the loose curls too 🙌🏻
This was one of my favorite videos of yours. So helpful and calming at the same time lol. Love the look of the denim jacket on you too. ❤

Crafting supplies, always! I did a huge purge last year and it's a job to keep an eye on myself and make sure I don't creep back into too much!
I have way too many cozy blankets!! I am addicted!! Every time I walk into a store I have to feel the soft blankets!😂😂 So I went through my old ones and donated them to our local animal shelter. Thank you so much for the suggestion!!

I have too many quilted wall hangings that my mom made but I love them
I have too many crafting supplies. I haven't done anything with them since my daughter was born 7 years ago! I almost didn't want to say this category so I wouldn't be challenged to declutter, but it is time. BTW, the kid outfits in a shoe organizer is a great idea - I want to try that!
Love this! I need to declutter my makeup, especially cut in half my nail polish collection 💅🏻
The ambiance really help me so much specially when trying to study it makes me focus more ❤thanks Brittany
This is the best video of yours!
I have too many books but it is so hard to let them go. I am getting better at it.
Reading material including saved articles, old subscriptions and college books!
Great tips!! I have way too many clothes. My husband and I just went through and purged piles of clothes, but we still have too much!
You influenced me to get into reading before bed and I LOVE it! I also need to try those ear plugs as a fellow HSP.
Something I have too much of are probably mugs. Time to declutter!
I have way too many craft supplies/fabric that i tend to not make time for. Decluttering it today!
I have too many body and facial creams, I am a cosmetologist. Decluter is very important!! I can't believe I'm one of the first to comment, I've been following you for several years, I love your videos! Kisses fron Argentina 🇦🇷💕
Been watching you for years, you are truly my role model ❤ I learn so much from you! Thank you for all you do 🙏🏻
Yes to the summer uniforms for children and simple wardrobes for mamas. White cotton t-shirts and cotton biker shorts are so perfect for modest children's summer uniform.
Hi Brittany, thank you for another helpful video. What is hardest for me to throw away are the things my children left behind when they left home 😐. All the best for you and your family. 😀
I definitely have too many craft supplies. I hardly get time to craft anymore, but the creative in me has a hard time getting rid of any of it 😅
I love love love all these tips!! 👏 Thank you 💓
I got rid of more than half our things 2 years ago when we moved and downsized our home. I am now working on decluttering. I do one area at a time. (Countertop, cabinet, corner, closet, etc) It's so freeing.
Love the video! I have way too many blankets! I could probably part with some but I love being cozy and comfortable 😌
So helpful. I have too many water bottles. I can't ever find one when I need it. But I need to get rid of most of them.
❤ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
*Money saving HACK if anyone is interested in* looking for inexpensive fabric because the fabric stores prices can be ridiculously expensive?
Yes, Brittany! Yaaaaay! Couldn’t agree with you more! All of this!
I have too many shoes that I don’t wear. And waaay too many kids toys! Love the toy rotation idea!
Brittany, you have to try grating your eggs over your toast like it was cheese. For some reason, the texture is so much more satisfying.
I need to pair down my suppliment bottles. Thanks Brittany!
I have way to much clothes. A lot of them don’t fit me anymore and haven’t for years. Thank you for the motivation to get in there and do a massive declutter! 🗑️
