As you probably know, the little mini-strats and mini-teles StewMac sells as kits have a mandola scale length and can be strung and tuned in fifths. I’m building one now, tuned FCGDAE.

I’m kinda new to mandolin and I love it. I have a pretty low end secondhand acoustic-electric by a manufacturer that doesn’t come up on google and a nice 60s Suzuki bowl back. I’m really keen to experiment with the first one, I’m not especially interested in the typical genres mandolins play in but I’ve seen people do wild things with pedals
