I study psychology and proximity massively increases compliance levels and is probably why there’s a much better chance when you’re face to face rather than just over the microphone. I was involved in a car accident and immediately after, i went to stress eat, so I went to chick fil a. I pull up to the line, and the server approached me. We had small talk, asked how my day was, I told them what happened, they gave me my meal for free, 3 free cookies, a couple gift cards for free meals, and an entire bag of sauces I asked for (like 30 sauces in total). It was a surreal experience. Chick fil a is just the way to go

I work at wendys and can honestly say that I bet you would have gotten at least 10 discounts if you had asked at the window and not in the drive through because everyone working can hear the drive through including the boss so he might not let employees do stuff like that.
At the window wouldn’t work at many establishments. That’s why they say to mention coupons at the time of ordering, because it’s a pain in the ass or sometimes even impossible to then change the receipt. This is why Karens always roll up to the window with their coupons like “I’ve got this buy one get one free!” and then act all crazy when they can’t be accepted. Some places it’s easily to handle, others.. he’s got ZERO luck asking at a window after the order/receipt has already been created.

Chik fil a is most definitely the best fast food joint by far. It's my favorite place to doordash for too. Anytime I go there to pick up food, they hold doors open for me everytime even if their busy and hands are full.
