I've been stalling on this lesson for a while, but I've finally hit it. One-handed butterfly is FREAKIN' EASY! Especially with that note of just grabbing instead of worrying about looping onto a finger, this move is just plain simple, given skill to do the regular butterfly. Tossing it behind the head and stuff gets a little tricky, but it's easy to feel once this move is learned. It really helped me, by the way, to roll my hand up and down in a horizontal fist. That seems to help me to keep perfect control so that they pass exactly at the top and bottom.
great tutorial nick just what i needed learning to grasp both poi with one hand ! and keeping one higher than the other is tricky to me lets see how i do
Hello! Can someone help please? I have the following problem: they do not tangle but the back poi only does a pendulum, i cannot flip both...how do you flip de second one? :(
well your poi aren't supposed to bounce off each other just have one poi higher than the other try using your arms as poi to build muscle memory he shows it in his video the butterfly hope this helps =)
It's funny.. i was just absent mindedly talking to a friend of mine and i caught myself doing this... took me a while to figure out how i did it though lol.. odd thing is... both my poi are in the same spot in my hand while i do it....

for me it helped to think of it as shaking someones hand.
the onehanded over-the-head thing still feels strange through.
