I watched Tenchi Universe first. That one will always be my favorite. Yet Tenchi Muyo OVA part one was great! I did really enjoy it. Pretty Sammy is so out of print and hard to find. I ha e some of it. Great video! Makes me want to rewatch it.
In reality every single one of them are alternate versions but the war 1 it seems like that is tenchi’s son I say he is because in 1 of the other versions she got a sperm sample from tenchi after that it wasn’t talked about and she was a scientist and she had a space ship so it all wraps together but it was never really looked into so we never really got an answer for a lot of the questions the series made us ask
Same. Didn't watch other Tenchi Muyo series but I started with Geminar because when I was searching for Isekai that anime got recommended to me. Not interested in other Tenchi Muyo because imo they're all quite dated and the dark comedy doesn't appeal to me.

The first Tenchi i watched was Ai Tenchi back in early 2015 after that there was a very big 6 year gap of not watching tenchi. Then this year i got to the tenchi rabbit hole through the channel Bonzai Pop and binge watched Ryo-Ohki, Universe, The two tenchi universe movies, daughter of darkness movie and then War on Geminar. i also did a sample watch on GXP, Tenchi in Tokyo, Project S along the way also.
Just rewatched Tenchi In Tokyo...so I really loved this series when I was younger. As an adult it's a weird feeling. I have a nostalgia love for it still. Even had some chills during the last episode. However, if I had just discovered this series idk if I'd be able to make it past the first episode. Lol Not really a big anime guy in general, but there was always something special about the Tenchi franchise, and a couple others from my childhood. So while I still enjoyed this version of Tenchi I have no argument against everyone who hates it. Lol I get it.

Oh I loved War on Geminar! My concern there though is that War on Geminar doesn't introduce you to the core Tenchi cast (they just appear briefly) or prepare you for the rest of the story (despite being connected). While I agree that it works well on its own, I don't know that it effectively introduces a viewer to the franchise as a whole. What do you think?
Tenchi in Tokyo was my intro to Anime on Toonami back in the 90's. It's the worst one.... I then saw Universe on Toonami and finally a friend let me borrow his Tenchi OVA VHS which was Subbed and Uncut. That sealed the deal of my love for Anime in it's original form. No dubs, no US censoring. How it was meant to be. Anime was HARD to watch and get back in the 90's before Torrents and fan subs!
This is the thing about the Tenchi series . Each series that I've seen is the reintroduction of each character . Most of we've already had seen witch we met and in away is a waste of time . But the introduction of the Royal Family was a treat . It in a way shows that Tenchi comes from a bigger family than he was led to believe . Other than that great series .
I legit did not know about any of this, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari or Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar as I later found out was the first one I saw of this. It was labeled as an ova but now I understand, it all makes more sense. But I’m still confused on what order since there hella names without any way to know what season it is.

Tenchi Muyo Season5 Ep1 and Ryo-Ohki. That'll do it. There's a lot you can pickup from their conversation. Lastly, recall War On Geminar when Kenshi had conversations related about his family. That'll do as just what I had in mind 🤔
Geminar in my opinion is the best Tenchi Muyo simply because I never watched other series and I'll probably never give them a try in the future because honestly they're all quite dated.
