If you are talking about this song, they didn't want to promote, because they had a full schedule. They only learned the parts of the choreography they showed in the MV. SNSD doesn't need to go to music shows anymore, they are well known. Even when Hyoyeon released Dessert, she only went on two music shows as a gift to her fans.

I am really proud of us. We are an old fandom. When Kpop wasn't about views and all, when internet wasnt available everywhere, we always tried to reach 50M and all in atleast 2 months. Now after all these years, when our Queens came back, in this new era, where we being all old (We do have a lot of cutie new fans too now though 😄) and new gen groups being recognised. When SM didn't give an album or any promotions and here we are reaching *50M views with a new record.* With all the busy life we still managed to to do that.. I am proud of us.
But not to mention all our fellow Kpoppers from all other fandom who supported us and gave us positive feedback.

It’s so different to see veteran groups perform, there’s this mature, confident and relax vibe to them. Not to say that the newer groups are not great, but it’s just so ‘fresh’ to see these old groups do their thing. I think that one thing these veteran groups have is their own uniqueness and when you see them perform, you know it’s their thing that no one can recreate. As the industry evolves and become over saturated, the groups that come out are inevitably comparable to each other. They may be unique, but somehow you can definitely find something similar/comparable in another group. I think a factor would be the veteran group members’ personalities, talents and uniqueness shining through in their performance. Every member will
have their own energy and power to contribute into making the group complete. I guess it’s different in newer groups when the audience’s preference affect the idols’ portrayal. When we look at the older groups, the members of different groups may have similar concepts, but you can always differentiate between them, because they do show us sides of themselves that are different from their ‘concept’. They are never limited by their concept.
Lastly, I’m so glad to see a veteran girl group still going strong and coming out with good performances. We barely have any veteran girl groups left. Hope they do well in this comeback💕

Very well said. Veteran groups, SNSD most specially, has that natural glamour and vibe to them that's just so different from every other group. They have that class of their own that when you see them you would say "Ah it's SNSD". A class and aura that just screams queenly and iconic.

You know I actually feel so good with this sub-unit, I don't knoe if they would come back all together with the 8 members, but I would not be mad if they didn' t. I’ve said this before countless times and I’ll say it again. SM please plan the comeback schedules of your artists properly. Let them have the opportunity to promote on music shows, variety shows and other platforms. As much as I love seeing other SM artist content I hope you’ll give all of them equal opportunities. The promotions keep overlapping and they end up competing against each other on the charts. You have gems in your company. SNSD is a legend in and out. How good this MV did without music show promotions or variety show promotions shows they still have it. A lot of fans out there having been waiting patiently for their content and soshi is still receiving a lot of love. Understandably the newer groups might draw in more money, but your “older” groups draw a lot of attention during comebacks and I hope that every SM artist is given the opportunity to shine.
I don't think the girls are that free to promote this song to music shows. Remember that each member has their own schedule. Yuri is reportedly working on her upcoming drama, Sunny and Hyoyeon with their show, Taeyeon preparing for her upcoming album, and Yoona prob has her own tight schedule as well. Sm would love to milk the money out of SNSD, this is proven by their number of Kihno album sales. I'm pretty sure SM did consider promoting their song at music shows, but that would be hella tiresome for the girls to juggle between their own activities and promoting. This song was meant for us fans to enjoy and to anticipate more of SNSD anyway. When the time is right, I'm sure the girls will come back together and serve us thirsty fans with their live stage, tour, variety show, full album, etc..
