  • Dates are the fruit of a desert palm tree. It has been cultivated for a very long time because of its fruit. There are 220 kinds of dates, or which about 20 are commercially viable. Date palms have been described as the “tree of life.” Date palm trees reach a height of 100 feet.
    Date palms are highly valued because they provide abundant food in a very harsh place.
    Dates are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals, they keep for months without refrigeration.

    Hello, Can you suggest how can we protect dates in rainy season?

    • @HappyFarm85
      @HappyFarm85  Год назад +1

      Hi @shoukatawan5686,
      I suggest some below way:
      Cover the stalks using paper or plastic covers to protect the fruits from rain.
      Thin the fruits by removing a number of snuffs from the middle of the stalk to ensure ventilation between the fruits.
      Prune the trees: Trim any low-hanging branches or leaves that may come in direct contact with the ground. This will help minimize the chance of water splashing onto the fruit and causing damage.
      Apply fungicides: Use approved fungicides or organic alternatives recommended for date trees to prevent or control fungal infections. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully and avoid applying when rain is expected in the immediate forecast.
      Hope the above can help you.
