I actually disagree that grey should have built a wonder on the island when the 4 of them were still alive. By building a wonder at that moment, it would have cemented the 3v1 against him because it puts a timer on the 3 of them working together to kill grey. By delaying the wonder, it left room for them to betray each other which ultimately ended up happening and gave grey the wiggle room to win. Well played grey!

I have been in Blues position before playing games with other people, so frustrating when you see the path to victory but other people just say screw you and yeet ya
The cherry on top would have been green admitting he went undercover and had to have everyone fooled, including gray, while secretly remaining his friend and working towards helping his victory. That would have thrown him into eternal aoe2 legend territory among the likes of snippy and hopper etc.

Build them slightly back to keep them safe from trebs, build a dock under it and use that as a staging ground. These community games are wild. Also Grey had no allies because he was with teal/purp, but then they fell apart and even though he switched, he lacked that pre-existing alliance.

Purple going aggro early really started this game off right! Nobody likes getting killed early of course (rip yellow) but purple started all the action, teal was totally game for it and all of sudden the world had two big baddies with a dream! I was a little sad when grey betrayed them because the writing was on the wall on who the next one to fall would be. Thankfully, green got tired of red's soapbox because from a viewer perspective I think the three man gang up would have been a sour ending. Blue played honourably and I think it would have been nice to see blue and green duke it out at sea with grey but of course green has a serious problem 😂
It was not such an easy decision. First I thought Green was gonna be my best friend so I betrayed teal when I had to choose. Second if I had chosen teal purp. Yes we would have won the 3v4 but after that I was dead 2nd place at best. While if green had my back, I'd have a 2v2 and I could beat green late game. So it was a gamble. Never though green would turn on me though.

I think Age of Mythology is the best in the series, because of its amazing insanity. You'll be having a totally normal battle with archers and cavalry and infantry and then suddenly a meteor hits you and someone else stars burning down your buildings with laser crocodiles.
I don't think green was being stupid. I think he saw the writing on the wall. If he stuck with Red and Blue he was looking at probably being third, maybe second if he diplo well. By snipping both Red and Blue, not only did he secure silver (second place) but he did it on his own terms and got two king kills. It was probably a smart move on his part.

Really lame seeing someone (Green) not play to win, only playing to decide a winner by hamstringing everyone else while the top score and clear frontrunner gets to go on a victory march unopposed. I would've loved to see a strategic Blue + Red trying to siege Grey's base heavily fortified with walls and castles and towers and stuff. Would enough petards sneak in on a transport ship? We'll never get to find out -_-

I think Age of Mythology is the best in the series, because of its amazing insanity. You'll be having a totally normal battle with archers and cavalry and infantry and then suddenly a meteor hits you and someone else stars burning down your buildings with laser crocodiles.
I don't think green was being stupid. I think he saw the writing on the wall. If he stuck with Red and Blue he was looking at probably being third, maybe second if he diplo well. By snipping both Red and Blue, not only did he secure silver (second place) but he did it on his own terms and got two king kills. It was probably a smart move on his part.
