    Best review that I've seen on this bike. I have the same color 21 model. Budds BMW you have a class act reviewing your bikes. Camera work was superb. Excellent mic. for engine . Super focus on close ups. Why no mention of the quick shifter though. Other bike reviewers should pay attention to the details of your filming. Like your elevated camera angle when returning to the dealer. Top Notch stuff.!! I subbed Thanx.

      Yes, I’m in Canada (Ontario). I did a review of this bike and an 850… Because I loved them so much I ended up purchasing the 850. Great bikes and a huge improvement over the previous generation of F series bikes.

      I’m not sure that there is a difference in height of the TB bike. I think it’s mainly cosmetic… but I’m not 100% sure of what the difference is. If you’re local, reach out to Budd’s BMW Motorrad and I’m sure they will be able to help you out better with the specifics of each trim. Cheers!

    • @BelowZero

      Peter Gajewicz Considering it’s not produced or assembled in Germany, that’s pretty steep price tag for 800cc bike.

    • @Peeohtrek

    Got my 750 GS 3 Month before and its amazing. With the features of the 1250 it is the best bike in the middle class. You didn't use the Quickshifter for the Acceleration Test? Over 5 Seconds isn't a good result. This bike can perform better.

    • @Peeohtrek
      @Peeohtrek  5 лет назад +2

      I agree. I think BMW has figured out that this is a stand alone bike rather than a stepping stone bike. In the past the 700 was a bike that you purchased to work up the confidence to get a 1200. Now it is it's own thing. Slightly more street than GS but fun and capable non the less...
      As for the 5 seconds... I ride a 690 Enduro... so to me the power seemed like alot. Once I calculated it at home I was a bit disappointed. Especially after seeing other on RUclips doing it in 4.... But I only had 3 tries, and it was a borrowed bike. Lol, I'm just slow.
      Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

      I think you will be fine but if you are not comfortable BMW does offers a lowered suspension option for that bike. Stop by a dealership and put a leg over one. best way to tell. Also, don't be afraid of balancing a bike with only one foot. The whole thing of having both feet planted is a myth.

    Price is lofty being a German machine, but the dealbreaker for me would be that the engine is made in China.

    • @Peeohtrek
      @Peeohtrek  4 года назад +1

      It’s still a BMW, and the warranty and all the guarantees apply. BMW seem to believe in the built quality but time will tell. Stay safe!

    • @westeagle00
      @westeagle00 4 года назад +1

      I don't mind paying more for a quality item (I happily own 2 older BMW bikes) but I would feel cheated finding out the engine is made in China. You pay more for a German machine exactly because the engineering and manufacturing is German. I was seriously excited by this machine, and considered buying one -until I found out that the engine was made in China. It is sad that company profit comes ahead of brand integrity for the current generation of executives.

      I wouldn't worry about that. It's still subject to BMW quality control. My BMW car was actually made in South Carolina and it's been great! I knew it was made in America before I bought it, but it didn't put me off.

    • @westeagle00
      @westeagle00 2 года назад

      @@paulyflyer8154 Yes but quality in China is not the same as in USA. China is slowly improving but historically full of shortcuts and shoddy output.

  • @200Fathoms
    @200Fathoms 5 лет назад

    Dude, really? Multiple 0-60 runs on a brand-new bike that you borrowed from a dealer? You know about break-in periods, right? A disservice to the person who ends up buying this bike.
    Side note: you referred to the mount above the handlebars that allows you to interact with "your GPS." No. It only interacts with BMW's Navigator GPS, by Garmin, which is about $1,000 USD.

    • @Peeohtrek
      @Peeohtrek  5 лет назад +2

      Thanks for your concern. Having worked for BMW, being an F850GSA owner and having read the owner's manual, let me assure you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with THAT kind of riding during the break in period. Please note that the red line (8000 rpm) was only reached for a split second in one out of the 3 attempts. Most of the other riding was below or around the manufacturers recommended 6500 rpm.
      The important thing to do during the break in period is to vary the engine's rpm without keeping it constant. This allows the engine to go through many heat variation which help to smooth and properly seal the cylinders. Some engine manufactures even recommend increasing the bike's engine speed to the rev limit for short periods of time.
      As per BMW's owner's manual:
      1. Until the running-in check, very the throttle opening and engine-speed range frequently; avoid riding at constant engine rpm for prolonged periods.
      2. Try to do most of your riding during this initial period on twisting, fairly hilly roads, avoiding high-speed main roads and highways if possible.
      3. Comply with running-in speed. 6500rpm
      As for the "your GPS" comment, that was meant to be rhetorical (make a statement rather than to elicit information).
      Have a great day and stay safe. Cheers.

    • @200Fathoms
      @200Fathoms 5 лет назад +2

      Peeohtrek I have read the same manual-I own this bike. There is a world of difference between varying the load and occasionally running up to redline WHILE UNDERWAY during break-in and what you show in this video. No manufacturer would recommend multiple full-throttle 0-60 runs, from a standstill, on a bike that very well may have had only a couple of miles on the odometer. I can’t imagine that even people who follow the “break it in hard” philosophy would do that. Anyway...you can choose to break in a your bike any way you want. This wasn’t your bike to break in.
      Sorry...my comments sound harsh and that’s not me. I just don’t like seeing demo bikes treated this way. Because someone eventually buys the demo.

    • @Peeohtrek
      @Peeohtrek  5 лет назад

      200Fathoms What’s the difference between going into the higher rpm during a 0-60 or while trying to pull away in traffic? You are still in higher rpm and you’re putting the same stress on the engine. As a matter of fact a Tech will rev the bike high during the pre-delivery test ride to make sure the bike is in perfect working order. They also do it at the factory when your bike is first turned over and plugged into a dyno. That test puts your bike into higher rpm than my ride and for a lot longer. Going into the red is what your bike was designed to do once in a while. My 0-60 attempts weren’t full throttle just as the tach shows.
      If you want to ride your bike like it’s made out of sugar then go ahead but don’t bother me with your concerns and views as they are not accurate.
      Oh and you’re sorry that it sounds harsh? You start off your dialogue with “dude, really?”... Give me a break!

    • @Peeohtrek
      @Peeohtrek  5 лет назад +1

      One last thing... I just spoke with my Tech. He said that the only thing that is bad for the engine is to constantly bounce the top RPM off the limiter. RPM variation, and constant heating and cooling of the cylinders is ok. He watched the video and said that other than "poor clutch control" nothing bad was done.
