You are right Bean I took your word and purchased a new BMW f750 GS over Tiger 900 as you said after testing the BMW 750 you prefer it. I used to have Tiger 800 for 6 years and planning to buy the new Tiger 900 but when I saw your testing of new BMW 750 GS your preferred it over the Tiger 900 and you are right when I purchased the BMW 750 GS I noticed this after riding the bike I prefer the handling and engine performance . Everything is perfect on the BWM it is well developed and researched bike, well done BMW and thanks Bean for your advise . Abdulaziz from Bahrain 🇧🇭.
Worth to note: you were not just in ‘suspension-‘ Dynamic mode as you said. The ride mode Dynamic was selected, and I notice the same jerkiness ONLY in that mode. Road/Rain are buttery smooth.
Great review as per usual, but I look at that bike and think, why not just get a nicely spec'd up V Strom XT with that lovely practically indestructible long life proven Suzuki engine, just my opinion.
Great review even if on this occasion I don’t agree with your conclusion. As you know, I had put in to get the F850GS sport and ended up plumping for the R1200GS TE. That said, surely if it was between the 750 and 850 it would be a no brainer to go for the slightly more punchier version - both for resale values and appeal but also you’d always yearn for the extra power you know the engine plant you have can be tuned to deliver more grunt.
Looks like a great bike, but the deal breaker for me is shaft drive. Having bought a R1200GS this year, I would never go back to chain maintenance faffery again. Great review as always
This review kind of confirms my thinking that the large dual sports bikes era may soon be over. Certainly the mid sized bikes are easily capable of long distance touring and being lighter too they’re the perfect all rounder. Can’t wait to see what the new KTM 790 adventure R and Yamaha’s T7 have to offer. Great review thanks.
Spent 2 weeks on a direct access course on this bike and I have a real affection for it. I bought a Honda CB500X and I love it, but I can see me getting one of these at some point. UPDATE: Got one!
Thats saying something, that you'd take the 750GS over the 2018 Tigers. BMW still has it then. The TFT screen is really nice to view. The Chinese can make great gear, just look at the iPhones. I think it is smart to partner up with other countries in this global economy. Besides, why not be friends?
Ditch the GPS mount and use the BMW app. Everything shows up on the TFT screen. Works great. Also the app will show you current road speed limit if you want it to. In fact you just need phone connected to bike, and app not necessary for that feature. I ride 40th Anniversary 750GS. Cheers from Daytona Beach!
Brilliant review TMF 👍🏻 this might be the first bike ever where the TFT dash is bigger than the “windscreen” 😂 PS: 12:12 I like the RJ number plate. Ahah
Hi thanks for another nice video; i don’t understand why BMW F750GS is coming with a ridiculously useless so small windshield! A another think i don’t understand is why they are producing it with same motor as the 850 but with much less power !?!? I think it’s still a nice Road focused adventure bike that can also go on light dirt roads but i really don’t understand the ridiculous windscreen & the less power motor. So i think i prefer the Tiger 800. Live long, ride safe & prosper 🖖🏼 By the way, even if it’s more street oriented bike then the 850, at his selling price point the front forks should be inverted ones! A detailed comparative review with the Tiger800 would be nice & appreciated😃
I can't speak for the diesel's, but the old BMW cars used to be the last 2 digits were engine size (330i was a 3.0L I6). Since the turbo models were introduced, the whole naming convention has been turned upside down where a 320i and 330i both have 2.0T engines. But the F7XXGS/F8XXGS have always had the same engine but power output is usually only about a 10HP difference. I have the F700GS, and for me, it has more than enough power...
Nice VLOG. The F 750 GS drives indeed very nicely. The look is a matter of taste. Quality of craftsmanship appears high. What I didn't like too much was the weight centre which appeared quite high compared to the low mass centre of the boxer engine versions. So, one needs to be attentive when it come to a stop.
hmm, maybe forgot to blur in the first half of the vid, good to see youre a normal rider lol. completely agree with the comment on the screen, looks like its been dropped and snapped in half, im sure the aftermarket will have a fix though, always do for bmws
Got mine in july this year in the fully equiped sport version with a top case. Put a larger windscreen and a couple of bar risers on it and perfectly love it. PS: it has been using some oil, but seems to have stabilized after 5000 km.
splodge 57 the cost is rarely in material or labor. It is in design, development, quality control, marketing, transport and most of all reputation.. this is still a german bike, its only put together by chinese workers (and checked by german quality control) Does not make it very different from the situation in which workers of different nations build it in a german factory. You pay for the brand, not the bike. A rolex does not tell you time better than a 10 dollar watch.
@@ikwer111 my dad's Rolex still work, but my g shock destroyed in 2 years, says it's Titanium? It's about good engineering, not cost cutting for profit
Chinese engineering: I don't have any doubts about the engineering etc BUT I do have an aversion to supporting a regime with extremely questionable ethics regarding Human Rights and Abuses, Wildlife Conservation & Animal Welfare, their Expansionist Policies regarding neighbouring Asian territories etc. That's my PERSONAL view and I certainly would never condemn or criticise anyone for not sharing that view. BTW : I'm a 54 year old with 30 years in the offshore oil industry who has spent a lot of times in many of the shi7holes of this planet .... I'm not a spotty 18 year old uni student looking for a "cause" to support and I realise that it is extremely difficult to buy anything these days that does not have some connection with chinese manufacturing. As for the bike - I love it !!!
@@Daar64 I certainly do NOT support the USA .... and totally agree that their ethics are equally as questionable. Greetings from Scotland (We also have a leader that is incompetent !)
nice review, i like the bike and i was hoping to buy either this one or 850 but at the end i bought mt10 sp, because of the price, i didn't have enough money to go even with the 750, then i saw a very good discount on the mt10 sp 2017 model which tempted me to go for it.
Really nice. Thats a bike that can do everything id want it to. Those screens puss me off. The danger if fitting a bigger screen is you can then introduce dirty air so needs research. Good to see the dealership at the start.
The Tiger 800 is brilliant due to the triple engine which is outstanding in the market. I think it is one of if not the best all-round option in terms of road, touring and off-road use.
Thank you my boy for that video it really open my eyes you know I don't need a big bike in my condition and being able to plant my feet firmly would be a good thing not to mention the price you remember I told you about my Norton 650 SS well it had 49 horsepower but it sure as hell didn't feel like it it was really struggling to get over the ton downhill with a tailwind
Nice bike and good review. Just read they produce an A2 license friendly version with power limited to 35kw/48bhp as well, that would be a good option to consider in this category.
Excellent vid thanks. I've been looking at one of these for a while now. Ah, yes the Chipmunk! That brings back many fond memories from my time in the ATC
Another great review. I Had test rides on both the Tiger 800 XRT and the F750 GS Sport back to back. And I have to agree, the GS is the better bike. Only issue I had was that next to useless screen. The only option BMW offer is the screen from the 850, which I’m not sure is much of an upgrade. Best start saving up the money, it’s not long to March.

Couldn't get a good plant of my foot on the lever. I'm sure that it should be an easy fix. Thanks for your video. I pretty much agree with everything you said.
Strong praise that you'd take it over a Tiger 800. This has me curious as a Tiger owner. May have to try one someday but I'm so happy with the Triumph The BMW would have to be worlds better and as you often say there isn't that much difference these days; they are all good. Still nice to see the competition...but that windscreen...
I’m riding one while my 1200GS is in for a service. I have to agree with most of what you said, but IMO it’s pig ugly. But that engine!!. Wow 😲 she’s a cracking engine and certainly feels like a stronger mid range than my 1200GS. I just put €10 (Euro) Petrol into the tank and got an indicated 260km range, I don’t get that for €20 on the 1200GS!. A few months back I rode the F850GS, this is the one I’d recommend, I’d have one over the GS if I could justify the expense of changing
Very nice! I'm glad it has Cruise control in that level, none of the competitors have Cruise. Was that a Spitfire or a P51 in the background? Great review.
Specced the Sport up to about 11k pretty easy and that seems comparable, but I reckon I could leave that HP exhaust option unticked at £660! Stock sounded great.
Nice nicer with a 1200 screen But if only it had telelever front suspension and of course Shaft Drive. Are you listening BMW - you now have several mini versions of the iconic 1200GS, but all chain drive. What a shame.
Cheers TMF. Another quality vlog sir. Quality bike too. What does surprise me is your comment regarding the power plant. I would of thought the Tiger engine to be more eager n fun, and would sway a lot of buyers toward Triumph. Apparently not. Beemer, you've gotta love their products. They don't get much wrong.
$19,900 in Australia and that’s without tax/rego which makes me wonder how much BMW is getting and how much our top heavy grubberment is getting... way too much for a Chinese engine here.. We pay over 30% more than the USA for bikes and parts and it looks like near double you guys: at least we’ve better all year weather just too far from Norway 🤪... That video was the absolute best.
Another great review have looked at the f750 as alternative to current 1200. You can spec it exactly the same as the 1200 with keyless ignition but only at a cost. As you know with BMW all the bits come in different packages so heated grips and hand guards different package to DTC. The bike doesn’t come as standard with TFT either that’s another £595.
Love this video mate, I'm picking mine up on sat and looking at Spain next year so can't bloody wait ! 😃 keep doing what you do dude it's awesome ! 👍😃🏍🏍🏍
Hey! Me again. I'm about to pull the trigger on an F750gs. Given your experience with BMW, albeit mostly with the Boxer engine(?) is there anything I should look out for in owning a BMW? Different brands have their, quirks, shall we say, that one purchases along with the all the good. Any wisdom to impart on that score? Thanks!
Heavier than I expected.... and... I am 5ft 8in like yourself but my inside seam is 27inch.... go figure !!! But still enjoyed the review , one day I will be able to download them to my Reality Hologram so I can spend all day on the couch.

Awesome job. Can't wait for these and the 1250's to hit the US supposedly in November! Cheers TMF and look at thaat, you're gonna be at 100k before you know it!!!
I don't understand why the new 2019 1250's are gonna hit the U.S. dealers at the very end of the year! Shouldn't we getting the 2020 models here in the U.S. by then?
That throttle may glitch may have been the Euro4 kicking in, now that only kicks in when you close the throttle at town speeds between 3-2K rpm. FYI those are not up-side-down forks ;-)
Nice touring and commuter bike, also for beginners. The screen is the first thing I would change. There are similar bikes, even for less money. Yamaha tracer gt, Kawasaki Versys, Suzuki V-strom, Triumph Tiger 800. Tiger is a very nice bike but quite thirsty. I would, in that category of bikes, again, choose the V-strom. If I had the money: BMW R1200 RT or GS.
makes you wonder why they would not have fitted a screen that works for all. as somethink as simple may have lost them a sale especially riding in the damp and cooler North. set it up to sell lots of them would be sensible. another good review pal. Tony
As I am looking at buying a used one (10k budget) I am so glad this review exists. Brilliant. P.s. I bought you a pint at last years wildbad weekend. Your hands were pretty full of beers as I remember. You're taller in real life. Lol.

Hope it goes world famous for you, like the intersection prop! ;-) Waiting for the 1250 GS's arrival, & thought this would be interesting. Something about your vids when you ride. I honestly feel like Im riding the bike. Luv that TFT screen. Another ripper vid Mr Flyer! Cheers groover ;-)
I have the shorter 'rallye' screen on my 2017 GS 1200 and it works so much better than the taller / standard screen. 'Clean' air. Yes, some noticeable additional wind noise, but it's definitely more wind protection than 'naked'. Rode it to Portugal and back this summer no problem. Less is more with screens unless you are over 6 ft tall I think.

I got myself a Gs850 Sport from work, fully loaded it's a fantasic bike, for me other then when the wifes on the back I don't see the point in owning a GS1200.. although I do want the Gs1250 for weekend runs with the wife :)
These middle weight bikes are defo the way to go imho. Im eagerly awaiting the launch of the Moto Guzzi V85 TT. Will probably be the replacement for my 2016 R1200GS.
Great video, good comment from tax2me, make more use of the blurry thing on that far tooooo clear TFT screen. Never know who's watching. Keep up the good work. Looks a nice area down there, could probably afford a garden shed.
Thanks!!+ This model is relatively cheap in Denmark. Cheaper than tracer 900 or similar. The extras is not needed imo. BMW overcharge.. ex. Heated grips 50pounds on eBay etc. I will get this for next season
Great review TMF. I test rode the F850GS from Maidenhead a few weeks back. It stood very tall and with a 30" inside leg I had to get them to put the lower seat on but I still found it a stretch. I understand the F750GS is lower so that would be good. I found the small screen was worse than a naked (I ride an RnineT) as the wind hit the back on my neck. It went well as you say and handled nicely and great plush ride. I found the fact the front end stays straight when you steer the front wheel at low speed a bit disconcerting on such a tall bike. Overall I felt a bit disappointed
Interesting, I'm looking at the Transalp, Tiger 850 and just found out about this. (didn't know it existed before talking to the dealer). Pricewise the BMW craps all over both the others, so I'm test riding the Transalp and the BMW on Saturday. Thanks for the review.
As nice as this bike is, it's in a bit of a weird spot.. if you want a mid size "adventure touring" bike, the Suzuki v-strom 650xt or Kawasaki Versys 650 are quite a bit cheaper and really good bikes, or save up a bit more and get the F850gs if you're really set on the BMW life..
TheMissendenFlyer ah very true, I haven't ridden either lol.. thank you... it's just great that the segment is no more a niche market but becoming highly competitive, great for new owners. Dealers will be adding more 'extras' on bikes. For example, some BMW dealers here in South Africa are adding a 1 year full comprehensive insurance or full titanium akro exhausts etc even 3 year unlimited mileage warranty on selected new bikes.
I still think you get what you pay for. This is a premium bike over the verseys and strom . And the resale is more when it's time to sell. Verseys are worth very little on the used market.
The bike has very low consumption, as far as I know. 4.5L/100km or so. The 850, with the same size tank, can get 300km out of it according to the DriveMag trans-siberia drive.
Hi TMF, I have just bought one of these (very similar to the one you have just tested) Bahnstormers / Alton. Hope you were not too rough with it. Only three runs on it but liking it so far. Looking forward to getting the camping gear strapped to it next year but will just use it for a bit of scratching over the winter if the weathers decent. Cheers.
Looking shortly to replace my ageing second bike the 2009 Ducati Hypermotard 1100, with something a bit more up to date (and less scary) with ABS etc. This the Tiger 800 and in future the Moto Guzzi V85TT, and possibly a Ducati Scooter if the rumors are ture are all forerunners cheers. 😊
Nice review. FYI: the windscreen on the new F850GS, which is taller, will fit on the 750GS. Also, I do believe you can get a keyless start for the F750GS. I'll double check, but I think so. Cheers!

You are right Bean I took your word and purchased a new BMW f750 GS
over Tiger 900 as you said after testing the BMW 750 you prefer it.

Tanks for this first ride review mr. TMF, beautiful bike and that’s my dream bike. The blurry display is a good fun indicator 😅👌🏻
Worth to note: you were not just in ‘suspension-‘ Dynamic mode as you said. The ride mode Dynamic was selected, and I notice the same jerkiness ONLY in that mode. Road/Rain are buttery smooth.
Not an upside down fork and 850 does not have adjustment either. Thanks for the review!
This is really a great bike especially the f850gs, I put a r1200gs screen on mine come and have a look!
What 1200GS screen did you fit? I'm finding F850GS after market kit hard to come by...
2016 r1200gs lc standard screen.
I agree. I really wanted to buy a Triumph Tiger 800 but for the money they ask it has no business having a chain.
Thanks for watching Mark....
Spent 2 weeks on a direct access course on this bike and I have a real affection for it. I bought a Honda CB500X and I love it, but I can see me getting one of these at some point.
UPDATE: Got one!
Excellent. I've got the jacket. Just need the bike now...
Couldn't agree more!
It's mostly robots building most of the bikes and cars not Chinese people. The robots don't care what countries there in.
Ahah
I love the TFT screen, I wish my F800R had one.
Could only be BMW to call a 850 bike a 750. ha ha.0

A beautiful looking bike and I love the tft screen
That's a great bike. The windshield is more a bug screen for the TFT I think.
:0)
So I'm not the only person who loves the smell of two stroke!!!!
No you'r not (-:
Nice VLOG. The F 750 GS drives indeed very nicely. The look is a matter of taste. Quality of craftsmanship appears high. What I didn't like too much was the weight centre which appeared quite high compared to the low mass centre of the boxer engine versions. So, one needs to be attentive when it come to a stop.
I didn't notice that but the physics add up!
The 2023 that I test rode yesterday has the keyless ignition.
hmm, maybe forgot to blur in the first half of the vid, good to see youre a normal rider lol.
completely agree with the comment on the screen, looks like its been dropped and snapped in half, im sure the aftermarket will have a fix though, always do for bmws
Got mine in july this year in the fully equiped sport version with a top case. Put a larger windscreen and a couple of bar risers on it and perfectly love it. PS: it has been using some oil, but seems to have stabilized after 5000 km.
Tor Damsleth: Could you please share which brand and size did you go for the windshield? I hear that Madstad is the best. Thank you

Nothing wrong with a Chinese engine if you're buying a Chinese bike and you'd think it would be reflected in the price.
splodge 57 the cost is rarely in material or labor.
That's my PERSONAL view and I certainly would never condemn or criticise anyone for not sharing that view.

nice review, i like the bike and i was hoping to buy either this one or 850 but at the end i bought mt10 sp, because of the price, i didn't have enough money to go even with the 750, then i saw a very good discount on the mt10 sp 2017 model which tempted me to go for it.
Love the MT10SP....
I agree it's one of the best all rounders - but so is this one, and for me it pips the Trumpet....
Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree Colin - opportunity there for the aftermarket screen makers!
Thanks TMF, found my next bike when my BMW F650CS finally pays itself off!
Blimey, your bike pays itself off?? That's the sort of bike I want to own!!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Saw your set-to with the 4x4 driver on a green lane by-way on a clip earlier on another site, funny as - well handled dude, especially as he was an uneducated idiot!

Your also missing from the gs1200 is the shaft drive and the telelever suspension, aswell as keyless ignition. Nice review, seems a ok machine.
True....
my point exactly ..final shaft drive would a deal breaker . I would definitly buy a 850 with a shaft drive over a 1200...
You can have keyless on the 750/850gs if you spec it
Not having keyless is a positive imo. Huge and unecessary security risk, for pretty much no benefit.
@@robertmarsh3588 seams like insurance company's may be increasing premiums too if a bike has keyless. I do find it a benefit with the car having keyless. Just keep the key in my pocket and press a button
Had a chance to test ride this bike and loved it. Only thing I found strange was the rear brake pedal. I found like it was put on the wrong way or something. Couldn't get a good plant of my foot on the lever. I'm sure that it should be an easy fix. Thanks for your video. I pretty much agree with everything you said.
Thanks for that great review, probably my next bike. A bargain compared to the 1250.
Yes great value I reckon...
Yes give me the Tiger's windscreen over this one any day! ...but I'll keep the BMW TFT....
Upside down forks? They look conventional to me, but I guess these days upside down is more common so you're probably right. Nice review as always.
Two things that I would want to change is the screen and the satnav position which would be totally blocked if you put on a tank bag.
Very nice! I'm glad it has Cruise control in that level, none of the competitors have Cruise. Was that a Spitfire or a P51 in the background? Great review.
Instablaster.
Keyless ride is also available for the new F750/850 GS... I have it on my new F850GS!
Nice bike Mr flyer but it's expensive I have just brought a vfr 750 in very good condition for £1500 Love it. Keep up the good work.
Now that sounds like a bargain!
@@TheMissendenFlyer always wanted a vfr the exhaust started blowing abit on the collector box. But otherwise it is great.
Good review as always. I hadn't realised the relationship between the 750 and 850 was basically the same as the Tiger 800 XR and XC ranges.
Pretty much....
Well I love a Triumph Triple as much as the next man - but this engine was fine too, nippy, sounded good.....
Thank you sir! Stay tuned for more soon!
Yes it's annoying the way BMW do that isn't it....
Great review as always, look forward to the next👍

Cool vid matey, inside leg seems to have increased a bit LOL.
That's a nice machine! I like the fact that BMW produces motorcycles under that 10k price point. Most big name manufacturers don't do that anymore.
Hey!

I have one. It is brilliant. But I am keeping the Ducati Multistrada 1200. That is the King of the Road.
Awesome job. Can't wait for these and the 1250's to hit the US supposedly in November! Cheers TMF and look at thaat, you're gonna be at 100k before you know it!!!
Yes, amazing how these thing grow isn’t it...
I don't understand why the new 2019 1250's are gonna hit the U.S. dealers at the very end of the year! Shouldn't we getting the 2020 models here in the U.S. by then?
I certainly like that, not a one I've thought about, but as you say, similar price to my tiger 800 at the time....
That throttle may glitch may have been the Euro4 kicking in, now that only kicks in when you close the throttle at town speeds between 3-2K rpm. FYI those are not up-side-down forks ;-)
Yep sorry, my slip of the tongue, many have mentioned it!
Fair enough!
makes you wonder why they would not have fitted a screen that works for all. as somethink as simple may have lost them a sale especially riding in the damp and cooler North. set it up to sell lots of them would be sensible. another good review pal. Tony
Thanks Tony.....
As I am looking at buying a used one (10k budget) I am so glad this review exists.
Brilliant.
P.s. I bought you a pint at last years wildbad weekend. Your hands were pretty full of beers as I remember.
You're taller in real life. Lol.
Cheers for the pint Dave! Got quite messy that evening if I remember right...see you at the next one?
Mr Flyer: Love the new production prop! The good ol' "drop down mobile phone wallet commercial!!!" Hope it goes world famous for you, like the intersection prop! ;-) Waiting for the 1250 GS's arrival, & thought this would be interesting. Something about your vids when you ride. Thanks for watching Ross!
Looks like she's got the same mounting points for standard GS BMW panniers!! Nice bike! 👍😁😁
Yes it does...
That's all no doubt true but it looks pants like that I think.....

There are better bikes for the money, what makes BMW bikes are the extras; standard on other brands.
Strange how different people like different things in a bike - I found it a really nice ride and was impressed!! Oh well....thanks for watching - TMF
What a great display on that bike. I can only read my bike's LCD about half the time... really annoying. All bikes should have TFT's like that one.
Yes I think BMW's have the best TFTs so far (contrast it with the Fisher Price Triumph ones!)....
Interesting, I'm looking at the Transalp, Tiger 850 and just found out about this. (didn't know it existed before talking to the dealer). Pricewise the BMW craps all over both the others, so I'm test riding the Transalp and the BMW on Saturday.
Thanks for the review.
Hope you enjoy it!
As nice as this bike is, it's in a bit of a weird spot.. if you want a mid size "adventure touring" bike, the Suzuki v-strom 650xt or Kawasaki Versys 650 are quite a bit cheaper and really good bikes, or save up a bit more and get the F850gs if you're really set on the BMW life..
...but to the on-road rider the F850GS doesn't give you anything more that I can see (having ridden both)....
@@chrisredfield3240
That's why you don't sell a Versys, you ride it until you can't ride it anymore. ;)
I'd be happier to buy a used Versys/V- strom without a warranty.
Nice review again, looks a decent bike but would be a no go for me on the 15L tank size which I feel is pitiful.
The bike has very low consumption, as far as I know. 4.5L/100km or so. The 850, with the same size tank, can get 300km out of it according to the DriveMag trans-siberia drive.
Good review as always!....are the brakes linked like the big GS ?
I think they are yes....but not 100% sure
Hi TMF, I have just bought one of these (very similar to the one you have just tested) Bahnstormers / Alton. Hope you were not too rough with it. Only three runs on it but liking it so far. Looking forward to getting the camping gear strapped to it next year but will just use it for a bit of scratching over the winter if the weathers decent. Cheers.
Congratulations!
Cheers!
Aha - good call on the windscreen, thanks!
Indeed a ridiculously small 'windshield'. I do like BMW bikes balance. Chain, ok but needs cleaning when touring. Cruise control big plus 👍😊
