Yeah, i kinda wish i didnt put knulli on mine. Knulli is pretty slow, and stock has the cool c stick featuure by holding r2 and one of face buttons fot n64
The big comparison with the Odin 2 and mini isn’t just the size it’sit’s definitely the screen. The mini led is def what is keeping that price there but it’s going to be worth it imo. The color space is wider and the contrast ratio is going to be amazing. 1000:1(Odin 2) vs 1000000:1(mini) is a game changer to me personally
I just want an Odin 556.
The ergonomics and screen of the 556 with the processor/dpad/sticks from the Odin 2.

I think I wrote last week about how I'm digging these square screen horizontal handhelds from Anbernic and ZPG. That's not changed. This scenario reminds me of the "twin films" phenomenon. Time will tell which one of these handhelds is "Armageddon" and which one is "Deep Impact".
Thanks for the shout-out. I'm happy the "Minecraft" thing was worth mentioning. I'm still pretty terrible at that game; but, I don't feel so bad about that considering I paid $2.
Newscast Topic: There's probably not enough here for a topic. However; since May 8th Feral Interactive has been teasing a new game for Android and iOS on their website and socials. The clue is a picture of a building and the phrase, "DDIM I RODDI ITI FRAW". Those are words from a Welsh lullaby called "Suo Gân" and it means "I will not harm you" or "I will not allow you to be frightened".
This matters because Feral's business is porting relatively high end last gen PC and console games to Android and iOS. They're the outfit that gave us Android users "Grid: Autosport", "Alien: Isolation", "Hitman: Blood Money", "XCOM 2", and about a gazillion "Total War" games among others. I'm hoping for a Codies rally game because Nicky Grist (the co-driver in the "Colin McRae" games) is Welsh and Feral has done business with Codemasters multiple times before; but, I'm confident that's a pipedream. A more legit guess is "Total War: Thrones of Brittania" which, IIRC, had Welsh tribes. Do you have any ideas?
As a news topic, I think it's worth mentioning the Raspberry Pi Foundation going public. A lot of people use their boards for emulation, and it's interesting to speculate how this could potentially impact them.

Thanks for the news update. There’s a lot going on in the retro gaming/modern gaming community. Surprised to see someone finally mentioning Retroarch and PPSSPP available for IOS. Some others have mentioned this, but it’s a big win as retro game emulation increases its presence on other platforms. I’ve had some family members now starting to tinker with emulation because it’s available on iOS. Probably does not get highlighted as much due to the hype ongoing for the RG35XXSP available for ordering. Great device btw, may get the blue later on. But it definitely gets more attention than other news, not sure if they are compensated to market these devices or just indirectly marketing for Anbernic and other brands without compensation.
Was initially hating on the Odin mini because of the price increase compared to the Odin 2. I guess it does make more sense now. I was really hoping for a $250 or under device. I would have definitely gotten that. But with already owning an Odin 2 Pro, $340-400 to get basically what I already have, just in a different form factor doesnt make a lot of sense to me personally.
The stock CFW for the 28xx is surprisingly solid

The Odin 2 Mini is something I'd look forward to. (my phone is technically an Odin 2 Max). Although, I trust handhelds more and may just get the Mini 👍

The Odin 2 mini doesn't make sense to me. It's too large to be a mini handheld, but too small to be a full fledged handheld. It's just marginally smaller than the Odin 2 and being priced higher is mind boggling... To me it's a big missed opportunity to make a real mini handheld to fill that premium mini handheld gap that's currently populated only by the Retroid Pocket 2S
yea tbh i thin retroid did a Hella of a job to corner that side of the market. that really know how to price something but still add quality. tis is why for me im skipping Odin products all together and just gonna grab a steam deck

I've seen the rp4 but only recently have I been considering it. torn between the two. don't know what I care for really. the screen size or the better emulation. Im going to be playing PS2/ GameCube/ and switch emulation mostly. I'm almost going to be doing plenty of Xbox gamepass cloud play as well. does the rp4 screen fair well with PS2 and switch gameplay? does it have a decent wifi chip for cloud play?

What the hell is a "full fledged handheld"? Are you saying the PS Vita and every single handheld that came before that were not full fledge handhelds? Including modern handhelds like Switch Lite and Retroid Pocket 4. For some people, that's the size they want
bro Mini LED is trillion times better than IPS, in fact I think IPS is one of the worst modern displays, I prefer VA or even TN LCD
RP4 pro is a better purchase than the mini because of where emulation is right now on android.

Absolutely. If you have no need for Switch emulation. You're better off getting the RP4Pro 👍
It's not only power, the Odin 2 mini has a way better screen, and the form factor offer better ergonomics.
