odd...I actually was thinking near the same thing-! I am also impressed that , by a look or a nod, Mr.Gilmour will denote a change in tempo, or some other item... Very tight..! Much admiration for this, My favorite Band, and group of talented individuals....
They do that in all pink floyd performances, that is because it takes some extraordinary thing or achievement to become immortals. Which this band has become, and we dont often see this in other bands, because not everyone can be immortal.

I first heard him singing on Dark side when at first I got to know the music of Floyd
Used to play this live, great number and not a hard set of solo's to reproduce 'in a fashion'.
Pink Floyd may be prog/psychedelic but Gilmour is a blues player at heart. In credible guitar.
