Bought a new 1984 Explorer in the summer of 84. Traded it away for something else in 1990. Over the years I wished I had not sold it. 31 years later it showed up in a local shop and I got it back. Same guitar with my name stenciled on the case. These kind of stories almost never happen. Great to have my old friend back.

That is amazing! I've been dying to get some of my old gear back from when I was younger so I know how big of a deal getting the EXACT one can be and the memories to come with it. Jerald

@@GuitarChimp I bought a 2005 LP custom shop from you and traded it for one of the first Jackson Koa PC1s ever made. Should of just paid for the Pc 1 and kept that LP.

Enjoyed watching this. Who can't relate to this in some way? I'd sold my white 1963 Les Paul/SG Custom to help fund purchase of a 1958 Les Paul Custom. When that '58 deal fell through, I felt INSTANT REGRET over my old '63 & came across you and the 1961 Les Paul/SG Custom in this video. The '61 washed away my regret, and it is a better instrument than the '63 it has replaced. You cut me a killer deal on the 1961 Gibson, & sold me that guitar for less than the three PAF pickups that I installed in it are worth. I also bought that 1968 Les Paul Custom reissue from you, & am now purchasing a third Gibson Les Paul Custom from you because of your good dealings & fair prices. You will see the 1961 Gibson Les Paul/SG Custom again some day. It is in a loving home, brought back as close as it can be to it's 1961 Kalamozoo Michigan roots- singing rich tones through my Marshall & VOX. Thanks Jerald, keep up the great work.

Ahhhh!! Thanks man! I've got so many of these stories I could do a top 20!! I've been searching for a good deal on an old 50s 3 pickup custom. They keep getting more and more expensive. Your '56 is killer though. Too many guitars! Thanks again. Your '57 is shipping today. -Jerald

i regret selling a 1973 guild D55 bought from arthrs music store, a 2008 advanced jumbo bought for 1500 in Menards parking lot, and a custom shop 00-28 Goncalo Alves Martin that i sold to guitar center in greenwood Indiana which was later stolen by an employee who quit when accused. A played to dirt kalamazoo from the 30's like robert johnson had with a caved in top but still played i found for 200 on craigslist outside chicago.

What?!?! Your guitar got stolen from someone who worked at a Guitar Center?? JERALD

@@GuitarChimp knew a different guy working at that store at the time, I asked him if anyone had bought my Martin yet and he was like “oh yeah your custom shop Martin? That thing was stolen out of the case and the only employee who was working with keys to the case that day quit when accused “ and mentioned it was one of the guys working behind the counter who got a whiff of the guitar when I brought it in to sell it. I believe it was swept under the rug and they ate it. They paid me $2800 initially before this happened and I got screwed. Circa 2017-2018. Management is no longer the same.
Some cock definitely has it all snuggled up nice and pretty under his bed somewhere. Gollum style

Hey Jerald! Don't know if you remember me but a couple of years ago you bought my Slash AFD amp and I ended up buying a billie joe armstrong les paul junior case which I still have and love. You were super cool and gave me a tour of your shop and we talked guitars for a bit. I've been a fan of your channel since then and really enjoyed this video. You should definitely do more like this. I'm sure you have a lot of cool stories that would be fun to hear about. Sorry for the long comment but just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the great work!!!!

Jerald sold me that amazing 1961. Unexpected tone & sustain from the SG body, 1960's mojo.
