Thanks for the info. Taught this old dog something. Went to range, did a few basic combat shooting exercises, dropped mags for quick reload. Didn't think nothing of it so when I got home I started the cleaning process, didn't clean mags, loaded er up and ftf on every mag. Now I can clean them and VOILA, this requires another trip to the range, thanks for showing the process. L.

I didn't know how to do it until I watched. My particular mag appeared to have a different spring. (Factory Colt series 80) Mine went with the angle of the mag instead of against it to put the loop forward. Regardless, I finally got it cleaned. Plenty of gunk in there too. Thanks.

I’ve got two 7 round mags that I found in a basement ceiling at a remodel job site. Owner said they weren’t his and I could have them. Here I am several years later having some financial trouble because I’ve got health issues, and I remember these magazines. Turns out they’re authentic WWII era mags and sell for around $50 on eBay lol. I’m cleaning them up and I was thinking huh, they’re welded up, can’t take them apart. But wait. How did they put them together then? You answered my question. Now I can clean them properly for whoever buys them.
