I live in a small condo so for the past few years I have collected balsam branches/twigs, put them in a beautiful glass vase, and hug a few small ornaments on them. It's my version of a tiny Christmas tree, and it works for me. I hear the rental market in VT is crazy-tight. Congratulations on finding such a beautiful spot!

I love your house and the beautiful snow covered woods!! The tree is beautiful, the table scene and the fire in the wood stove is perfect !!! I love the scene where all three are in view. I love winter ! It's a time to rest and enjoy the season. I have a wood stove/heater like yours but mine is electric!! Lol There's so much more I could say!
I'm also moving up to Vermont with the dream of living a more intentional life. Bought some land and will be building a small house/cabin on it next year, and I can't wait to be there! Looking forward to planting some roots and joining the great communities up there. Your house and land look like a winter wonderland!
I noticed your Red Wing Plate on your shelf. I inherited a few pieces from my mother-in-law. Unfortunately, some of hers broke in the 1980 LA earthquake. I love the few I have as they're hand painted. I, too, live in nature but on the west coast in the Redwoods. Yes, we did experience some shaking a few days ago!

My ex is a chef and I had the same issue with an oven and he said ovens cook differently and if it’s cooking slowly you just put the temperature up 25°. If It’s cooking too fast to put the temperature down 25°. It should cook better if you do this. you may still have to add a few minutes but it won’t be doubling the time

I’ve shared this video. Winters are hard. But they also hold the gifts of rejuvenation, and you are so right…we need to slow down and find the beautiful moments within the season. I still hate shovelling…and trying not to fall on my head on the ice…but yesterday when the snow fell on the garden leaving little frozen lacy decorations…I remarked to myself oh how beautiful! Full gratitude for that gift! I love how you created a cosy celebration in your home with just a few simple things. Wishing you both and your family joy and comfort in this holiday season.
