The Death Corp of Krieg, and, despite retcons, despite soooo many changes and an ignominious doom for their race and their world, my favorite guard regiment of Abhumans is still....THE SQUATS! The more I learn about the factions of the Astra Militarun/Wall of Guns, the harder it gets to decide which faction I wanna get for kill team/army. Do i go Krieg for the raw fervor and shovel kills. Do I go catachan for the Predator/80s badass action vibes. So on and so on.
This is what I really miss about the 4th edition codex, doctrines let you create any sort of Guard regiment you wanted from my amalgamated orphaned survivors veteran regiment to super high tech carapace guards with camoline coated armour (yes you could do that although it would be ungodly expensive per squad) the insane variation was great fun (plus you got to see looks of amazement on other players faced when you went fully unconventional, like me an a mate dropping 100 Carapace armoured Guardsmen and stormtroopers straight on top of an enemy)

I love Catachan fighters, I feel like they don't get enough coverage in the lore. They are often overshadowed by their younger brothers the death korps of krieg.
As a Cadian and Catachan Guard player you did my Jungle Warriors proud. Perfect timing too since today I was working on painting my Catachan troops up. They are going to be Jurassic Park themed, their tanks are going to look awesome once I figure out the best primer for my project. This was an amazing story and I am super pumped for what's coming this Friday!

We did an Only War (40k D&D basically) campaign like this once. The whole party against 1 DM controlled Lictor from the deathwatch rulebook, it was a blast. We also did one like "The Thing" where they had to figure out who the secret genestealer hiding amongst them is. Half the party almost killed eachother like twice lol.

The black library has no shortage of good writers, but these narrations are emotionally compelling in a way that few others are. I had been reclining in bed listening to this narration but when it became clear we would have a finale to the lictor saga I sat up as if it were an address from the president

As a Cadian and Catachan Guard player you did my Jungle Warriors proud. Perfect timing too since today I was working on painting my Catachan troops up. They are going to be Jurassic Park themed, their tanks are going to look awesome once I figure out the best primer for my project. This was an amazing story and I am super pumped for what's coming this Friday!

Ive only recently discovered your channel and I have to say this: Every one of your videos ive seen has increased my interest and fascination with the lore of warhammer.
You are truly a great storyteller, lore master, and the best 40k youtuber ive seen. Even the Astartes series pales, though very little, to your content.

We did an Only War (40k D&D basically) campaign like this once. The whole party against 1 DM controlled Lictor from the deathwatch rulebook, it was a blast.
We also did one like "The Thing" where they had to figure out who the secret genestealer hiding amongst them is. Half the party almost killed eachother like twice lol.

Border Prince is a legend of narrative content. Just magnificent. And MK is the edge lord, but his content is good. He knows his stuff and makes it fun for a younger generation.

The catachans. Imagine a squad of the greatest 80's action heroes ever. You know Schwarzenegger, Lundgren and the like. Now imagine an entire regiment made of squads like the one above. Now throw those against the worst xenos and heretics on the worst deathworlds. Imagine that amount of badassitude the prementioned regiment could radiate.
